Great Place

Jill and Matt’s place was the perfect location and fit for the nine of us and our three-generation family. The cabin is a lodge of days of old with beautiful woodwork, fireplace and furniture. The interior has a large living room, reading area and dining room that we use for both dinners and games with the whole family sitting at the table. The outdoors had a panoramic view of the lake with again seating for the whole family on Adirondak chairs. The water was fantastic for swimming. And we enjoyed our long boat rides to the various connecting lakes. We would love to bring the whole family back here again, Kathy and Rick

Host profile image
I'm a lifelong lover of nature and the great outdoors, hailing from the picturesque state of Utah. Growing up amidst the beautiful landscapes of this region, I developed a deep appreciation for the tranquility and beauty of the mountains. Luckily, in my early 20's I met the love of my life who hailed from the midwest. I was introduced to Three Lakes, Wisconsin and fell in love with all that lakeside living offers. My fondest memories are rooted in family gatherings by the water, exploring the nearby slough, and enjoying ample water adventures.

Why they chose this property

The neighborhood is peaceful and filled with amazing people that grew up in Three Lakes/Eagle River or have created their summer/winter sanctuaries lakeside. The location of The Pines feels like you are on an island. The tall pines are the ideal guardians of the space offering shade and sanctuary.

What makes this property unique

The Pines isn't just a property; it's a dream come true. Nestled on the point of Planting Ground Lake, this home embodies everything I love about lakeside living. The Southeast-facing position ensures that guests can bask in the sun all day, while the towering pines provide just the right amount of shade for warm afternoons. The adjacent vacant lot offers a level of privacy that makes The Pines feel like a secluded oasis. Three piers offer access to the lake, including shallow walk-in access. For me, The Pines is quintessential lake life—truly like living in a summer camp-themed movie!
What You'll Enjoy!
1. A Serene and Spacious Retreat: The Pines is designed to be a home away from home. With five spacious bedrooms, each equipped with two cozy beds, there's plenty of room for everyone to unwind. The large dining room is perfect for gathering around home-cooked meals, while the inviting living areas offer a comfortable space to relax and enjoy the scenic views.
2. Outdoor Adventures: The Pines features three private piers providing easy access to the lake for swimming, fishing, and docking your boat. The shallow entry area is perfect for kids to splash and play safely, while more adventurous guests can swim out to the raft for sunbathing or diving into the cool, refreshing water.
3. Cocktails on 'The Point': One of my favorite spots is 'The Point.' Here, you can enjoy a cocktail while taking in breathtaking views of the largest natural chain of lakes in the US and sunsets!
4. Proximity to Nature: Adjacent to The Pines is a peaceful wildlife slough, where guests can kayak or canoe amidst the calm waters and lily pads. This area offers a unique opportunity to experience the tranquility of nature and witness stunning sunsets over the water.
5. Family-Friendly Fun: The Pines is not just for those seeking peace and relaxation—it's also a hub for family fun. The expansive lawns are perfect for games like cornhole and horseshoes.
