About this property
Lake Cabin, 10 minutes from Callaway Gardens
Located just 10 minutes from Callaway Gardens and Hog Mine, Gorgeous hiking tails at FDR state park, and some small town antique shops/eateries, our charming cabin offers the perfect retreat! Nestled one block from an exclusive, privately owned, spring-fed lake that we encourage our guests to enjoy! You'll notice serene surroundings and plenty of activities. We have thoughtfully stocked the house with amenities for guest use at no extra charge.
Our Cabin is seated on a 1 acre plot of land filled with hard woods that are home to about 12 different species of birds. They sing morning and night so bird watchers come on! We keep binoculars at the cabin for those that forget them or don't have any. We have deer, and fox sitings regularly around the house so keep your eyes out!
The Cabin features a wrap around deck, hardwood floors, high speed internet, 65" Flat screen TV, all the appliances and dishes and serving utensils you would need to make a meal including condiments and an always full spice rack and non perishable cabinet.. There is a brand new full size GE washer and dryer in the master closet that guests are welcome to sue as well.
We supply linens, shower towels, wash clothes, kitchen towels, as well as paper towels, toilet paper, body wash, hand soaps, shampoo and conditioner, dish soap, and laundry soap, extra trash bags, sponges for the kitchen sink. There is nothing we haven't thought of for your convenience.
If you are wanting to go hiking we provide two hiking back packs, for guest use incase you forget yours. There is a beautiful hike featuring multiple waterfalls that we recommend if that is your thing- it even has a secret swimming hole at the very end, we can give you directions upon request :)
We have two gated lake accesses that are accessible to our guests at no extra charge. There is a lake access dedicated just for your dogs that is fenced in, and has a fishing dock. Both Lake accesses are close enough to bike or walk, but we usually prefer to drive in with all our gear, especially since we have kids. The lake is stocked with fish, and we stock it annually to keep it up. It's hard not to catch something. At the gated lake access, you'll find:
A designated swimming area that goes from ankle deep to 15-20 feet deep
A volleyball court right on the lake shore
A play ground for the littles
Boat launch, (bring your boat if you'd like we have on site parking! 150 hp or smaller)
3 charcoal bbq Grills
Screened and open pavilions, both have great shade for those that want to be close to family but out of the sun
A yeti cooler for guest use, incase you want to take drinks to the lake for a full day of fun!
***To make your stay smooth and easy, we provide several amenities at no extra charge:
2 kayaks and two 2 paddles. (one kayak is a fishing kayak with room for a small cooler.)
2 bikes to enjoy the lake loop ride.
Fishing poles & tackle!
A charcoal grill & charcoal, a stack, lighter fluid, lighters, and utensils.
Indoor/outdoor games and puzzles for adults and children
2 guitars for guest use and a piano (we are musicians and wanted our guests to be able to come play or write a song or even learn for the first time.)
Fire pit and hammock
65" Flat screen TV
High Speed Internet
And last but not least, a FULLY stocked kitchen.
Please note we always take guest suggestions, if you are flying in and there are items you can't bring with you please let us know ahead of time, we can try provide them if we don't already, if they are things that we can leave in the cabin and pass along for the next guests.
We are very meticulous in maintaining our cabin and although we are new on VRBO we have 40 5 star reviews on Abnb and 11 on our FB page!
***If you are making a long drive and we are on your way, stop for a couple of days- it’s worth it.

About the host
Hosted by Katelynn robertson

I was born in Georgia but spent most of my life in Florida and Tennesee. Above all else I enjoy spending time with my family. We have created some of our favorite memories at the cabin, and we are appreciative to share our space with other individuals, friend groups, and families who are in need of a place to totally relax and step outside of their daily routines.
I enjoy a variety of activities including surfing, hunting, and fishing. I was a white water guide on the Ocoee for outland expeditions, which sparked my passion for all things white water. I enjoy kayaking, rafting, and river boarding as much as I am able to do it between life and work. I enjoy traveling to new regions and countries where I can enjoy learning the nuances of other beautiful cultures. I am a basketball fanatic and enjoy watching and playing basketball. I enjoy photography at an amateur level. I am a musician and a writer, so playing music alone or with others is something that brings me extreme joy. The cabin is a reflection of a lot of our families interests.

Why they chose this property
My profession is in real estate. I am a broker, a licensed real estate law instructor, as well as licensed and active property manager, and a contractor. This career is more than just a job to me and tends to trickle over into all aspects of my life. No matter where I am at, if there is a spare moment I am probably looking at real estate. After months of searching for a property that would feel like a home away from home I found this cabin listed privately through the builder (built in 2011) and knew that it was the one. The lake and the near by hikes coupled with the fact that the house is just 45 minutes from an international air port, off the beaten path but easy access to the interstate.. it was just the perfect combination for our little family. we knew we would be renting the property out as we only are able to visit 5-6 times a year and we could not be happier with what we've got.
What makes this property unique
Honestly I am not sure of any community that has as many amenities as mine does for such a low cost. The slow pace of the surrounding areas is refreshing coming from a bustling city. The lake, and the scenery around the house is a breath of fresh air but not off grid or too far out. Any person in their right mind traveling to a new area would lock their doors when they come or go but this is one of those places where you don't have to. As far as the cabin goes it was extremely well built by a builder who did a lot for the area. I offer all of the things that I would want my family to have to our guests so that you can just hop on a plane, or jump in the car and come on.
