About this property
Spacious Relaxing & Beautiful home in Takoma Park on Washington, DC METRO
Our unique home housed us as a classic one bedroom, one bathroom Sears and Roebuck "Parisian Colonial" bungalow for twenty-five years before we transformed it in 2000 into a comfortable elegant traditional Craftsman home designed and built by us. It epitomizes the character and ambiance of the old "Azalea City/Tree Town" Takoma Park.
Takoma Park is ranked among the 100 best small towns in the USA. We have lived in our town for nearly fifty years, raised here two generations of sons who, now, with their own families live, one in Takoma Park, and the other just two miles into DC from us. We many times over the years thought to move elsewhere but could not think of a place we loved more anywhere.
Walk from our home to an organic food Co-op, bakeries, bistros, restaurants, farmers market, unique shops and Takoma's own METRO stop from which you can reach many destinations in the DC area including all major sites in the city and the city's two major airports.
The space
Our home is beautiful, spacious and airy with high ceilings, a Gourmet chef's kitchen, walk-around main floor, with two living rooms, and a full bathroom on the first floor. On the second floor there are 3 large bedrooms, two with a shared full bathroom, plus an ensuite bedroom with its own full bathroom. The house has a wrap-around front porch, generous back deck, stone terrace and gardens.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entirety of the first two floors, first floor kitchen, full bath dining and living rooms; and second floor three bedrooms and two full bathrooms and all that comes with them. As well the shaded and comfortable deck, patio and front and back gardens.
