About this property
Oceanfront Garden Oasis/Mt.Rainier & Sound Views
Welcome to the Whale's Tale where you'll find the perfect balance of nature and comfort. Less than an hour drive from the Seattle metro area, let the hustle of city life slip away as you settle into your serene new surroundings. This updated 3,400 square foot home, set on nearly 18,000 square feet of waterfront land, offers ample space inside and out. Perched high above tranquil waters of the Puget Sound with views of Mt. Rainer, Raft Island and so much more, you'll feel immediately embraced by the beauty of nature.
The airy living, kitchen and dining areas provide plenty of room for everyone to relax in style, featuring hardwood floors, cozy bay window seating, skylights, and tasteful décor. Admire the stunning Pacific Northwest scenery through wide windows, or slide open a glass door to experience the sweeping views firsthand. As night falls, switch on the electric fireplace to enhance the cozy vibes and curl up with a good movie or book.
The balcony and deck overlook a beautiful garden with outdoor dining, a fire pit area and Henderson Bay, offering perfect spectator seating to watch friends and family toss a Frisbee, soak up the sun, or spot some orca whales.
With three inviting bedrooms, an office with a queen sized sleeper sofa, three full bathrooms, a half bath/powder room, and spacious living and dining areas, The Whale’s Tale comfortably accommodates up to nine guests. The master bedroom features direct balcony access, skylights, and a private ensuite bathroom.
The kitchen is a cook’s dream, boasting bay views, an open layout, large island, induction cooktop, granite counters and every cooking utensil one could ever need.

Local Seafood Delights:
Some of Seattle’s best oysters are farmed in this area and available at Minter Oyster Company, less than a mile away. They also offer fresh crab, mussels, clams and shrimp for a seafood feast. Additionally, you can visit the Minter Creek Salmon & Fish Hatchery to learn about salmon conservation efforts.
Beach Access:
Access to the beach is a quick 5 minute walk from the house, at the front of the neighborhood, through a locked gate. (The key is provided at the house.)
About Gig Harbor

About Shoreside Sanctuaries:
After years of working corporate jobs in the city, where we rarely had time to truly enjoy family, friends, or life, we decided to uproot our lives and embark on a new adventure in the Pacific Northwest. While we bounced around before landing, we were determined to find a sanctuary—a place where, regardless of our jobs or the stresses of life, we could find relief and peace as soon as we walked through the door. That place became The Whale's Tale.
Living in this beautiful shoreside sanctuary inspired us to purchase two more waterfront properties, which we now share with family, friends, and guests like you. Although we still have jobs outside of our vacation rentals, Shoreside Sanctuaries is our passion. We love creating spaces where people can gather, relax, heal, and create lasting memories OR their own "Whale of a Tale" if you will. I know some of you were thinking we just misspelt that. ;)
We hope you experience the same sense of peace that we do here and invite you to visit our other properties as well. If anything is amiss during your stay, please let us know immediately so we can make it right. Come see us—we think you'll love it here.
Please note that our home was previously managed with all 5 star reviews. We now self manage but the property remains, 5 stars!

Why they chose this property
The Whale's Tale is truly a sanctuary space. There is something about it that just brings a sense of peace. While it's only 20 minutes from all of the things most people are used to in the city, you feel far away from the hustle and bustle. The second you walk outside, you're immersed in nature. The smell of pines, the ocean, fresh flowers in the spring and cool rain in the winter. The sound of the waves, the wind rustling through the trees, and the songs of a hundred birds. Inside you'll find a clean and modern aesthetic with tasteful decor and thoughtful amenities. Perfectly located between downtown Seattle, Olympia, and the peninsula’s breath taking Olympic National Forest ( all approximately an hour’s drive from each), the world is your oyster. In fact, some of the finest oysters can be found less than a mile from the house at Minter Oyster Company. Want to see some Salmon, we've got a hatchery less than a mile away too. Between it's location, the house itself and the exquisite exterior the better question would be, "Why not this Property?"
