About the host
Hosted by Ben

Discover our story! Originally from Tallahassee, Shirley and I fell in love with Carrabelle a decade ago. With our passion for fishing, boating, and hospitality, we knew this riverside property would be perfect for a short-term rental. We're dedicated to providing every guest with a 5-star experience at our River Retreat - Back In Brack. Meeting wonderful people and hearing about their enjoyable stays enriches our journey.
Why they chose this property
Carrabelle's rich history spans centuries, from its tar trade roots in the 1700s to its role in D-Day preparations in the 1940s. Nestled among oak trees, this historic home offers riverfront tranquility with convenient access to the boat club. Just a 3-mile boat ride to the Gulf of Mexico and islands, it's a bridge away from downtown Carrabelle, under a mile to Carrabelle Beach, and a quick 20-minute drive to St. George Island or Apalachicola. Ideal for a quiet, relaxing getaway or adventurous days of boating and fishing
What makes this property unique
Originally constructed as officer quarters for D-Day preparations, this unique property has been meticulously renovated, preserving its historic materials wherever possible. Featuring two porches, a walkway to the dock, sprawling live oak trees, a spacious turfed yard, and surrounded by nature, it offers ample parking for vehicles and trailers. There's simply no other place like it in Carrabelle.
