Completely remodeled ocean view 3 bedroom (2 bedroom plus loft) 3 bathroom penthouse in Papakea unit D403. The view is amazing with a tranquil koi pond, followed by the pool and then ocean. Whale watching from the living room, and the Lanai. Close enough to see the action of the complex but not too close to be surrounded by pool noise. At night, enjoy the beautiful tiki torches that are lit throughout the grounds and the beautiful swimming pool lights. A fabulous remodel and EVERYTHING is new. Not your average property, this bright and airy home with high vaulted ceilings is beautifully furnished with a tropical flare. The remodel was completed June of 2022 and all furnishing, all appliances, and all light fixtures were replaced in 2022 as well as pillows and mattresses. The mattresses are all Serta iComfort to give a restful sleep. We appreciate quality, so we have not scrimped on beds, linens, towels, dishes etc.
Downstairs, the primary bedroom has a sumptuous king size bed, spacious full bathroom, double sink vanity and flat screen TV and large ceiling fan. There is a second bedroom downstairs with another king-size bed, mirrored closet doors and ceiling fan. This also comes with its own full bathroom (which is located adjacent to the hallway and includes a walk-in shower and double sink vanity. The second level (loft level) features a 300 square foot loft-style third bedroom including a TV sitting area with vaulted ceilings, 2 twin beds, a futon and a full bath and small closet. Note: The stairway up to the loft is narrow and VERY steep and is not meant for elderly or anyone with a handicap.
This is an ideal condo for a large family or three couples as it comfortably sleeps 6 people.
There is an A/C "WALL UNIT". This is in the main living room. The unit does NOT have centralized A/C.
We are perfectly situated in the complex to maximize the cooling trade winds and 4 nice big ceiling fans keep it naturally comfortably cool.

This Papakea location is just a short walk to so many amenities. The famed Kaanapali Beach is less than a 10 min walk away and this beautiful beach stretches over 2 miles to Black Rock point at the Sheraton and then beyond to Whaler’s Village and the Kaanaplia Resorts. For the runners and walkers in your group there is an approximately 7-mile return run along the boardwalk or along the ocean’s edge. Along the boardwalk there are a number of ocean front resort restaurants and bars to enjoy breakfast, lunch, happy hour or dinner. Duke's restaurant is a perfect spot for a sunset dinner and is a short ocean front walk away. There are a handful of yoga and fitness classes along the oceanfront that you can sign up for. Across the street are a variety of stores including a grocery store, fish market, coffee shop, Paradiso Pizza, & walk-in medical clinic etc.
The straight goods on the beach: there is only a small amount of beach left in front of Papakea and this varies depending upon the time of year, swell and tides. Many years ago, Papakea had an expansive beach which was washed away in a storm. Now if the tide is not too high, there is a bit of beach on the north or south end of the development. There are stairs leading down to the beach, but the beach is NOT large enough for lounge chairs. You can access the water there and if the waves are not too big you can see people swimming, snorkeling, boogie boarding and paddleboarding out in front. The water is not that deep as there is a reef out in front. Some days you can see kite surfers, wind surfers and surfers right in front! There is a multitude of places to take surf lesson or rent surboards all within a 10 minute drive of Papakea. The resort immediately south of us does have a beach which you can walk to in 2 minutes. That beach is wide enough that people do relax on towels & chairs. Our favorite closest beach is Kaanapali Beach which you can walk to in 10 mins. At the north end the waves tend to be a little bigger, and if you’re looking for calmer water or shade just head south. We really love the cove beaches at Napili Beach & Kapalua Bay and they are a 10 min drive north. There are lots of lounge chairs at Papakea and its lovely just to relax on the grass overlooking the ocean and then pop into the water if you want to cool down!
Enjoy island fresh locally grown produce across from Honokowai Beach Park at the Farmer’s Market which also has smoothies, acai bowls, baked goodies and natural supplements.
Papakea charges a facilities fee of $25 per night for the 1st 10 days of your stay in any 30-day period. This is paid by guests directly to the front desk when you check in/out.
We provide a small size cooler for your convenience. We provide beach towels for 10.
Absolutely no smoking or pets allowed – even on the lanai.

Hawaii is located in a tropical climate, and insects, rodents and lizards flourish in this environment. If our guest spot more than the normal expected pests, we always make our best efforts to contact and work with the HOA to minimize your interactions with these pests. Any contact with such pests within or outside the unit does not constitute a breach of this Agreement or give Guest any right to any refund or rental adjustment.
**We make no guarantee that properties adjacent to the Unit will be free from disturbances, including but not limited to noise or inconvenience from construction, traffic or other guests or neighbors. Any such disturbance shall not constitute a breach of this Agreement or give Guest any right to any refund or rental adjustment.
***Papakea Resort is currently scheduled to start construction in Building A June of 2024 for plumbing work. The work will move alphabetically from building to building estimated 8 week increments per building and is estimated to last from June 2024 to June 2026. The Host is not liable for any inconveniences arising from the above-mentioned event.***
