Beautiful home with all of the amenities! Very clean and the host was attentive and accommodating. Communicated with us multiple times to make sure our stay was outstanding. Great location right off of highway 61. Minutes from Two Harbors and Gooseberry Falls. We look forward to staying at this property again next fall!
Our family of 5, and our cockapoo pup, spent 4 nights in October. The view of the lake during the day, as well as watching the moon rise, was fantastic, thanks to some newly cleared trees. We enjoyed the outdoor firepit with wood provided as well as plenty to forage next to the pit. Owners were very welcoming, quick to respond to inquiries, and accommodating. Location was a good spot for us - close to Two Harbors (grocery store, brewery) and only a short drive north to Gooseberry Falls and Split Rock Lighthouse. We very much enjoyed the property!

Liked: Cleanliness
This was a lovely property but there was no view of Lake Superior.
The trees and forest were nice but not the view we were hoping for. The house is brand new, open concept and nice furnishings.
We loved everything about this place. Our family of 5 and our dog red wanted to get away for a week and head up north. We decided this place looked perfect for location and the pictures don’t do it justice. The HUGE windows in the living room and kitchen took our breaths away. The view is GORGEOUS!
Everything is super clean and very minimalist which we really appreciated.
Gooseberry falls was only a short drive and the town of two harbors was only 7 minutes away. We are at Betty’s pies a few times but our favorite restaurant was for sure Blackwoods bar and grill. We decided to take a trip over to Duluth and it wasn’t very far away. It was just perfect. If we didn’t have school starting I’d like to head back up to see this place in the fall with the colors.
This place was gorgeous and not far from downtown Two Harbors. I do have a couple of tips:
- Verizon and AT&T have no service (we are talking SOS only) so take a screen shot of the address, WiFi and password and maybe even the code to get in, because you won’t be able to look it up.
- The mattresses are a very firm foam mattress. Great for some, but not everyone.
- The house is gorgeous and clean but a lot of white, which made me a little anxious with the kids that they would make it not so white.
Overall it was gorgeous, great views of the woods with some of Lake Superior through the trees. The stars at night are stunning. Has everything you need. A fire pit for s’mores would have been nice but you can make do. Overall we would stay again.
My family stayed in this place on a quick weekend getaway to the north shore. The driveway to go up the cabin is steep and it’s a dirt road. When we got there I picked up about 30 dead houseflies from the floor! They were all over the floor! And there were more on other parts of the house. Not sure where they came from but they were dead! I guess dead flies are better than the live ones flying inside the house and into your food. We brought marshmallows to roast but no fire pit outside. The house otherwise is very modern and beautiful with tall windows where you can see sunrise in the morning. It had half bathroom upstairs so you don’t have to go down stairs to use the bathroom.

Welcome to Godegard Haus located on the spectacular North Shore of Minnesota. We are the combination of a Norwegian Farm Girl from North Dakota meets a Swedish City Boy from Minnesota. We have made our home in Minnesota for the last 20 years and love everything about the North Shore.
Why they chose this property
Jenn ran Grandma's Marathon in 2023 and UNDER trained and UNDER planned. She didn't have a place to stay the night before so we left at 2 a.m. to get up to Two Harbors in time for the marathon start. We realized how wonderful it would be for more beautiful homes on the North Shore to be available for people to come visit the beauty and magic of Lake Superior. We built a house blending into the trees, using natural, sustainable resources that highlight a modern Scandinavian aesthetic with spectacular views of the trees, Silver Creek Tunnel and the beautiful bluffs.
What makes this property unique
The wall to wall windows that overlook the lake and bluffs are truly breathtaking. The sunrise over Lake Superior, the accessibility to Split Rock Lighthouse, Gooseberry Falls, and Lutsen, as well as being right down the road from Betty's Pies makes us truly unique. We're less than 3 hours from the Twin Cities and a launching point to Grand Marais, Thunder Bay, and all the other incredible sites the North Shore has to offer.
