Great Ski Weekend

This property is 20 yards to the Queens Hiway trail which leads to the tramside base area. So the ski in/out location is excellent. Kitchen was well equipped, including spices and paper essentials. Jay Peak is a gem; many challenging trails for all skills.

Perfect Condo at the Perfect Mountain

My friends and I spent 3 nights here. We are 4 pretty hardcore skiers, who wake up, hit the slopes, apres ski, hang out a bit before sleeping, sleep, and then do it again. Absolute Slopeside Condo Private Entrance was a perfect accommodation for us—enough beds, very cozy and comfortable, and right on the Queen's Highway trail. We were able to watch Netfilx at night and make breakfast in the morning. It was all that we needed, and Ray was very responsive when I had questions. Highly recommended for any group of 6 friends or 4 adults/4 kids.

True ski in ski out!!! Five stars!!!

My family and I had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Place was just what the five of us needed for a nice ski/ snowboard trip to Jay. We were able to ski right to the front door when we were done for the day or needed a mid day snack. We like to cook and there are plenty of dishes, pots, pans and spices already there in a very nicely renovated kitchen. Not only was it convenient for the slopes but an easy walk to the water park and shops in the evening. We will be staying here again! Five stars!

Jay Stay

Our family had a great time in the condo! It was our first time to the mountain, and this was a perfect location! So easy to ski in/out during the day without a car walk with our gear. Mountain was great and waterpark was a blast!

Great stay at Jay Peak

We spent five days at the condo with our three teenagers and had a wonderful time. The location can’t be beat for ski-in ski-out and proximity to Tram side amenities. Would happily stay again!

slopeside at Jay Peak during February break.

My family and I have made it a tradition to go to Jay for a few days in February. We have stayed at several slopeside locations and this one is the most convenient yet, right off of Queens Highway. Nice cozy two bedroom unit. Kitchen and appliances were all top-notch. Communication with Ray was awesome. Highly recommended.

Super close to ski slopes

As a European, these American ski houses often seem rather tired, with decor that looks as though it has not changed much in 20 years. Having said that, that does appear to be the norm. And this is undeniably a great location. We loved the fire, and the place was cosy and easy to heat up. We loved the blackout blinds and slept very well as a result. The shower is poor (weak) and the bathroom feels tired. The 'ski in and out' was great. There are steps up form the carpark, so you';ll need to lug your cases/bags. It was nice to be asble to use Netflix to watch a film. The owner offered us a very flexible checkout, which we were grateful for. The property is easy walking distance to restaurants and the waterpark, and we also took the shuttle to the Clubhouse Grille one evening.

Great place to call home for our ski trip

We had a wonderful time at The Cranes Nest at Jay Peak! We were steps from the trail. The condo was well appointed with everything we needed for our stay. Ray was great to deal with and was available if we needed anything! We will definitely be back!

Cozy. Clean. Great location!

We loved this well equipped condo. Owner was very clear w instructions for arrival and departure. About 20 feet to trail but can ski back directly to door. Lift is a short downhill ski away. Be prepared to walk up two flights to get moved in, but once you are settled in, it’s a lovely well equipped get away location for Jay skiing. Owner Ray, was very responsive to any questions we had.

Great condo in a great location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Crane's Nest. Ray was a thoughtful and responsive host, and graciously accommodated our early check in request. The apartment was clean, well stocked, and had plenty of storage for all our equipment. The ski in/ski out location was perfect for warming our toes between runs, and the base area was easy to access.

Fabulous mountain fun

The location of this rental maximizes fun on the mountain! Queen’s highway is literally steps away and you can ski/ride right up to the porch. It’s a short walk to restaurants, provisions and water park. The house itself is super functional. Even after a short break gloves and buffs are dry when left in the bench. Tons of hooks helped the 5 of us stay organized and tidy. Main bed was super comfortable for my aching body (first trip of the season). We’ve stayed at many vrbo and air b&b places and this place tops the list. I’m a big fan of the Crane’s nest!

April Fools Snow Storm

We had a nice stay at the Crane’s Place! Located on the Queens Trail and we were able to ski/in and out with ease. The kitchen is well equipped and I cooked most meals. One bedroom has a Queen and the other had double bunk beds (a tight squeeze). There are also leather futons as an option. Great mountain! We will be back!

Beautiful ski-in/ski-out condo

This property was perfect for our family of five (3 kids)'s ski "staycation". Ray has done a great job outfitting the unit with everything that you will need for a cozy family vacation, including a ton of hooks, slatted bench, boot warmers, a well equipped kitchen and plenty of board games. Owner is incredibly responsive and helpful. We will be back!

1st Time at Jay!!!

This place was an amazing location! Everything was as described in the profile. We literally skied to the front door! Felt more spacious than I thought it would. We comfortably slept 3 adults and 5 teeanagers (my family and a friend and his daughter). Our friend and his daughter slept on Futons and they said they were comfortable (and friend is over 6 foot tall). My only suggestions is look at the map of the condo location and a may of Jay before you go. Our only issue was that it took us about a 1/2 to find the condo. This was no fault of the owner. It was that we were looking for it in the dark after driving 7 hours!!! Would definately stay Crane's Nest again!

Amazing Stay +++

We just got home from the most amazing stay at the Cranes Nest. I'm going to list all the pros and cons of the stay in hopes it's helpful to anyone considering staying at this property. Let's start with the Cons: There are none. The pictures don't do this place justice at all. It's so much nicer than what appears in the pictures. It really is! Pros: Cleanliness and Location. The location is the best in terms of ski in and ski out. It's literally slopeside and likely in the best spot I could imagine. And if you don't ski, an easy walk to/from the village/restaurants. When we entered, we were immediately greeted with a nice entry way, with a long bench and a dozen or so hooks for hanging all your belongings. There's also a shelf for the helmets/hats above. There's a large closet there too, in addition to the closet to store your skis/boards. This area was perfect and unexpected (call it a bonus!) Entering the condo, the kitchen is really nice and clean and has everything you'd wish for in a vacation rental. We found everything to be more than sufficient in terms of cooking meals and serving our family. The dining area is right off the kitchen and comfortably seats 6. The table and chairs are high tops, so families with small children might want to keep that in mind... The living room was spacious and the futon couches were great. The TV included a firestick with Prime, Netflix, HBO and more, in addition to full cable. The wifi is fast. There were also tons of board games, cards, etc. to play when you make it back to the condo after a day on the slopes. The fireplace was cozy & perfect. The bathroom was spotless. The washer/dryer is in a closet in the bathroom. It's on the small side, but perfect for a daily load of laundry to wash face masks, scarves, etc. The bedrooms had plenty of space for unpacking and the queen bed in the master was so comfortable. The bunk room was a little tight in terms of space, but you can squeeze in 4 people, so it's perfect for a larger family with kids. It's not like you spend time in there, so it's fine. (We only have one child, so he was more than comfortable in there.) Lastly, there's a large area in the hallway between the kitchen and bedrooms with shelving where you can store dry food/snacks as well as clothes if need be. Plenty of storage beyond the kitchen and bedrooms if you need it. Ray was wonderful with communication and we truly loved spending time at this place. We will definitely return!

We purchased Crane's nest just over ten years ago. Our sons were young and we raised them Jay ( Jay phrase ) my reason for owning at Jay is simple. It always snows.

Why they chose this property

I can't say it enough, it is directly on Queens highway. What I love is that in the morning you just walk a few steps and throw on your gear and go directly to the lift. Going back to condo is simple, just ski right up to your door step.

What makes this property unique

Private entrance, We are a end unit on the first floor. No stairs to climb !
Be sure to check competitors location, entrance and what floor they are on.
