Lovely 3 bedroom, 3 bath log home on Graham Lake in Ellsworth Maine. Come enjoy a lake view with rocking chairs on the deck for relaxation, and short trip to Acadia National Park. Full kitchen, stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher. Master bedroom with a 3/4 bath on the second floor with a queen sized bed. Main floor bedroom with a queen sized bed and a full bath. Basement level bedroom with 2 twin beds and 3/4 bathroom. full sized washer and dryer. There is a front deck facing west towards the water for those beautiful Maine sunsets. Ellsworth is fair sized city only 3 miles away with many unique and chain restaurants and stores. Numerous outdoor lobster pounds on the road to Bar Harbor and Arcadia National Park. Bar Harbor and Acadia are about 30 minutes away.
The property is empty 8 months of the year and since it's location is in the middle of a forested area and knowing that there have been break ins in the immediate area we have installed a security system with multiple cameras outside and one inside that can be covered up upon your arrival if you so choose. If this is an issue for you I suggest you do not rent the cabin.

Peaceful Piece of Heaven

We enjoyed a fabulous stay at this comfortable cabin in the woods that had every amenity we could have wanted. The lake views are spectacular and the location is peaceful, off the beaten track, yet close to town and centrally located for an easy drive to Acadia NP and many other coastal attractions. The host was very responsive and helpful. Our stay couldn't have been nicer!

Quiet Paradise

Fran was an amazing host. Very responsive and easy to reach for any needs. The serenity of the location and all the perks are what made our stay a 10/10. When you book your stay, be prepared to be at the house for sunset, because you won't want to miss it!

Perfect Location

We were pleasantly surprised upon arrival. The pictures did not do the property justice. The home is perfect. The waterfront views are amazing. Lovely sunsets. We enjoyed our stay very much.The property is used by the owners and not just an income vacation rental. The drive is not too long to the national park or Bar Harbor. Fran is quick to respond to all communications.

tranquil lakeside retreat

Very Serene Place

Exactly what we were looking for in a rental! Well equipped home on a lake but close enough to town and other attractions. We weren’t too fond of taking the garbage to the transfer station nor too fond of all the cameras.

Peaceful Lakeside Cabin

The property was clean, comfortable, and well furnished. The outdoor amenities were definitely a plus. Fire pit, canoe, and kayaks were all really nice to have. The lake has almost no boat traffic, which made our stay very private and peaceful. The sunsets were incredible! Only downside is having to take trash to the collection center, especially if leaving on a Sunday when the center is not open.

Great September week on Graham Lake

Property was first rate! Everything we needed was provided for. Trash drop off at Transfer Station was no big deal and the bags provided were very large and only needed one bag for the entire week.

Delightful Retreat

We enjoyed our visit to Graham Lake; the cottage was very nice with everything we needed for our stay. The kitchen was well supplied. Our grandsons learned how to kayak during the week and had a great time on the beach and in the water. A nice bonus was the nearby access to the Downeast Sunrise Trail for ATV riding. One of the best trails in the state. Enjoyed access to Ellsworth for restaurants and shopping as well. Will plan to do this again.

Graham Lake

Beautiful property and view of the water. Well equipped kitchen. Clean and the owner seems to have thought of everything. A bedroom and bathroom on each floor.Also a washer and dryer to use. Good location for Ellsworth and Acadia area. Highly recommend and would rent again.

Great spot on a beautiful lake!

This property was very comfortable and well laid out. You can tell this is a much loved spot for the host. We enjoyed the lake and the view and the privacy! While the property felt remote, we enjoyed being able to be in town in minutes. The host is responsive and super helpful. All in all, a great choice!

Breathtaking Location

The home is equipped with most anything one would need during their stay, like being at your own home. The AC in the living room helped with the humid days and nights, and the kayaks allowed us to explore the large lake. We enjoyed sunset paddles, and the fishing was excellent. The location is close to Acadia and Bangor. There are several security cameras inside and outside, allowed per Vrbo. I understand their purpose, however, I prefer to vacation without “big brother”. The chairs in the living room are visibly dirty/stained, and the dishrack in the kitchen was questionable. Everything else seemed spotless. There is no place for your non-perishables; every shelf in the kitchen is occupied. It would have been nice to have at least one shelf available to put our food. There were a lot of “leftovers” in the fridge from prior guests including eggs, and half used condiments that expired in 2021. The grass/weeds around the home were quite overgrown; it took away from the picturesque nature of the property. Lastly, you must take the trash when you leave and pay for it. We chose to simply take it home with us. It may seem petty, but When you pay $2500, these things should not be an issue. The bed was incredibly comfortable; The bathroom was spacious; great water pressure, sufficient towels. Communication was excellent and info we needed for the property was provided in advance of our stay. The lake was quiet …and those sunsets… who needs Cadillac Mountain, lol? We miss it already!

SO CLEAN and SPACIOUS!

Can't say enough about this cabin. Amazing! Most important, it was it was so clean! Three full bathrooms for 3 bedrooms was a bonus because the kids got their own bathroom! The cabin had everything we needed. The basement TV room was great for my older son to stay up late. Big floating tubes, kayaks and fishing poles provided kept us busy. Easy day trip to Bar Harbor. The owner was very response to us during out trip. If in Maine again would absolutely rent again!

Perfect place to unwind and enjoy vacation

The pictures don't really do the place justice. Beautiful view of the lake. Great place to relax after hiking in Acadia or returning from Bar Harbor. You felt isolated and away from the crowds, but close enough to run into town for groceries or grabbing a bite to eat. Well stocked kitchen so the option to dine in and save some money was also there. We also had campfires 2 of the nights we stayed there to enjoy the beautiful atmosphere.

First time doing VRBO!! Excellent first impression. Easy and quick communication. My husband and I LOVE to fish in waders. The home not only gave us extraordinary views BUT the fishing was epic!! To be able to fish all around the lake in our waders was PRICELESS!

Graham Lake Cabin

Our visit started with the owner being very flexible with our arrival time since we traveled with some perishable food items and wanted to get them into a refrigerator quickly. Communications with Fran was outstanding. If you plan on visiting Arcadia National Park, this is the location for you. The cabin is only 20 miles from the park. Another spot to put on your list is traveling to Stonington, ME. It is a quaint Maine harbor seaport. We spent 3 hours walking around the town and visiting a local craft, resale shop. On the way back to Ellsworth, we visited the Jonathan Fisher House in Blue Hill, ME and walked around this little town. The cabin is very comfortable. I was very impressed with the quality of pots and pans in the kitchen. Unfortunately, due to lack of snow and rain during 2022, the level of the lake is very low.

Incredible lakeside getaway!

We had such an amazing trip, the pictures truly don’t do this property justice. We drove up at sunset and it was just breathtaking! Easy driving distance to Ellsworth for food and groceries and Acadia for adventuring. The owner was great and easy to communicate with. We will definitely be staying here again!

I am the nephew of the original buyer if this property bought in 1968 and he granted it to me about 10 years ago.

Why they chose this property

This property has been in the family for over 40 years. It was used primarily as a campsite for friends and family. Three years ago we started construction and just this past summer, 2015, completed the final stage or the kitchen.

What makes this property unique

Very remote setting with virtually no boat or jet ski traffic. So to keep it that way I don't allow any motorized water craft except an electric trolling motor that you can put on the canoe.
