This is a great walking and biking neighborhood. It is home to great restaurants and coffee shops & event venues. Blocks from freeway access and downtown.

Great place!!!

A wonderfully clean and comfortable home in a great location for the convention center - not to close and not too far. A nice 10-15 minute walk to start and end your day.

Perfect for Vacation

We enjoyed spending a week at this apartment. It is spacious, very clean, is nicely decorated and has a great bathtub. The property is furnished comfortably and has a very well equipped kitchen. We spent many hours on the deck in the back and enjoyed using the grill. Parking on the street was easy, We loved the location and were able to easly walk to great restaurants and parks. We hope to visit this location again on our next trip to Portland.

Very hypoallergenic, which is important for us. Thoughtful. Nice towels. Nice coffee. all you need.

Close to Hwy 99. Not much of a noise problem but when big trucks go by the house shakes. Great restaurants nearby. We had steak at Ox and Ethiopian at Queen of Sheba. Transit a block away.

Beautiful home away from home

We had a great time in Portland and loved this comfy little house. It is a great location for getting to lots of interesting neighborhoods on the East side for eating, shopping, galleries and getting the vibe. Everything you need is right in this well appointed home after a hard day of eating and seeing the sights. Don't miss Porque No the fun food trucks and all the great happy hour deals around Portland. The Japanese garden, brewpubs and waterfront are also a must.

Great home in the thick of it in Portland!

We had a wonderful time enjoying everything Portland had to offer! The house is very cute and well situated in town to get to every spot you could want to try. We were here for a week and enjoyed ourselves the whole time. We used Lyft and Uber to get everywhere and drivers were always only blocks away when we called them, never taking longer than 5 minutes to get a pick up. Portland was wonderful and this home helped make it so!

Great location

This very nice, clean & spacious apartment is just a short walk from your choice of Portland's amazing public transportation (streetcar, metro, buses). There also are a number of great restaurants & brew pubs just blocks away: we recommend Izakaya Kinchinto, Pine State Biscuits, Ex Novo--there are more!) We were worried about the heat wave happening during our stay but there is an air conditioner in the bedroom. Enjoy.

Lovely property, convenient location

This was our first visit to Portland and I'm so happy we stayed in Julie's lovely apartment. I can understand the noise concerns of another review as it is close to a relatively major street and the general urban setting is certainly louder than our small town home, however, having lived previously in a city, the noise level was exactly what I would expect, maybe even quieter most of the time. Being a short walk from the trains and on the 6 bus line was wonderful, the neighborhood all around was fun to walk to, and the apartment was pleasant and comfortable. We had a great visit!

Wonderful Accommodation

A lovely property, I enjoyed being there so much that I wish my trip was longer! The well cared for unit had everything we needed and we didn't even get to enjoy it all, including the back yard. The street always had parking available, and its location was great for driving to locations around the area quickly, while also being a quick safe walk away from the arena. Rocio was always available for communication and very accommodating. She even anticipated a need we may have had and proactively reached out to make us more comfortable before we even realized it. If I were to visit Portland again, seeing if this property was available again would be my first move.

Great apartment

This property was spotless and very well appointed. The linens get an A+. The location worked well for our time and purpose in Portland. We loved coffee on the deck in the morning and wine in the evening. The claw foot tub is terrific but not for older people. Having the washer and dryer was wonderful. My only concern is the lack of a handrail going down the steep stairs to the basement to wash. Adding a handrail would be a definite plus. I would stay again

Great location! Felt like home!! Wouldn’t change a thing 😊

What a great home! We loved it and Portland!! From the very first interaction to the last, both Julie and Rocio were very responsive, helpful and professional. No problems with parking either (for anyone in the future that might be concerned.) Rocio even dropped off some chairs for us to take to the Rose Festival parade happening just a few blocks away. Easy 10 minute walk to the light rail to venture downtown. Grocery store, shops and restaurants all within a short walk. We even ran into a Prince Birthday Papaplooza one night on our way back to the house. Such a fun city!! Thanks so much for making our stay so lovely and memorable.

Great place!

We stayed for a week during our vacation in July, and we loved it! The house was clean and nicely decorated, and it was great staying in an older home that had some history instead of a newer (and boring) condo or hotel. We ended up eating out almost every meal (it's Portland...how could we not), but the kitchen was fully equipped for any cooking needs we could have had. There was a coffee place directly down the street (Tiny's) and we got great coffee there on several occasions. The list of local restaurants left in the information binder was really helpful, and on our first night we used it to find a delicious place within walking distance to eat (Brass Tacks Sandwiches). We walked around the neighbourhood almost every night and it was a nice place to walk around and check out all the old houses. We definitely recommend this place!

Great house in an ideal location

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this cute, well maintained property. It was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Even though we didn't cook while we were there, the updated kitchen had every kind of appliance and utensil you would ever need to do so. Though the house is not air conditioned, there is a window unit in the bedroom that kept it very cool to sleep. When the temperature got up to 100 during our stay, the a/c unit and the fans located around the house always kept it comfortable. It was also nice to be able to wash our clothes during our 10 day stay in the full size washer and dryer. The location couldn't be better as it was close to downtown and major highways. It is also within walking distance to several very good restaurants and coffee shops. We enjoyed Toro Bravo, Ned Ludd, Ox (about 30 second walk from the house), White Eagle (great patio and live entertainment) and the Gold Rush Coffee Bar. I highly recommend this little Victorian and would gladly stay there again!

Charming little house, completely remodeled I interior.

We travelled to Portland for meetings at the convention center & managed to find this little gem of a house for our stay. Initially we were slightly disappointed when we caught first sight of the house. The house itself is as pictured, but the neighborhood and adjacent buildings look a bit ragged (it’s a bit in need of revitalization), but as soon as we got inside we fell in love with this little place. The kitchen is very well stocked , bathroom is much larger than expected for a home this size—loved the claw foot tub—The leather pull out sofa wasn’t very comfortable for sitting, but no worries—the weather was beautiful & we spent all our time outside on the back deck overlooking our private tiny garden. The only suggestion we could offer our host would be to spend a bit of time tending the garden since it’s showing neglect—overall, we loved our HomeAway experience & will definitely do this again.

Perfect for conference

My stay here was perfect for a conference I was attending at the Oregon Convention Center. It was an easy, 15 minute walk to the convention center and the neighborhood was decent to feel safe enough doing so. Very well kept, easy check in/out process since I was flying in/out at weird times of the day. You could hear the people living upstairs at night but it really wasn't too disturbing, glad I found this house for my stay in Portland!

Worth A Repeat Visit

The property manager is very helpful and responsive. The property was well kitted out. Having coffee in the house after late evening arrival was really appreciated. The garden is a lovely place for a slow start to the morning. We would definitely recommend this property.

Best Rental Ever

My husband and I have been staying in VRBO properties for over ten years both in the states and abroad. This property is the best one to date. It is clean, spacious, comfortable, very well equipped and in a great location (if you like neighborhoods.) Julie and Rocio were extremely attentive and flexible re: check-in/check-out times. This was our first trip to Portland. Beforehand I asked Julie for "to do" recommendations for both the city and its environs. She was incredibly gracious in responding quickly and extensively. Our visit was limited to only 5 days. We followed several of Julie's recommendations which included dining experiences, hiking and a trip to the coast. We were not disappointed. Our only regret is that we did not have enough time to do more! I highly recommend this rental.

The place is older, but well maintained. The owners have everything you need for your stay - quality cookware and dishes, dish soap, paper towels... they even had little things like coffee, coffee filters, and sugar - to make sure your first day starts right. The house is also very convenient to the highway - less than a mile from all major routes. Downtown does require a car or taking the bus. About the only negative I would add is that the house is near a busy street, so there is a lot of traffic noise at night when you are trying to get to sleep.

Lovely, charming, everything you need.

We had such a great time! This lovely apartment, tastefully decorated with original art (!) was the perfect jumping-off point for our Oregon adventures. We found we did not need a car to get around the city; we mostly used the Portland Streetcar (a few blocks away on Broadway and Wiedler) and MAX lines to get around town. The neighborhood itself boasts several of Portland's best restaurants (OX is one) and a wonderful speak-easy-styled cocktail bar called Secret Society. Tiny's is a lovely local favorite for coffee or a cheap (but just fine) bite to eat on your way to catch a trolley. The kitchen is well stocked with any utensils, pots and pans, etc, that you might need to do your own cooking. We did cook several breakfasts ourselves. The freezer has an ice machine. Coffee maker and coffee filters provided. There's even a spice pullout with an impressive selection of spices. Out back is a lovely garden with a deck and seating. We found the window AC entirely sufficient for the July weather (it was in the lower 80s and clear the whole time, no complaints there either!) The traffic noise (as mentioned in other reviews) didn't bother us, maybe because we are used to city noise. The nearby businesses didn't create any noise that we noticed. I think what made this place most memorable for us were the interesting works of art that decorated every room. It's not just generic hotel art; it's very interesting, original yet accessible. It was the perfect backdrop for our Portland stay and made us feel completely at home.
