About this property

Cabin Sweet Cabin, near the lake - pet friendly!

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Green Valley Lake is the hidden gem of the San Bernardino Mountains, surrounded by national forest and offering miles of hiking, cross country skiing and a pristine mountain lake for fishing. Come up for a breath of fresh air!

Located just a few houses from the shoreline of the town's beautiful lake, you'll have the privilege of walking or riding your bike to swim or to grab a bite in town. This mountain town is full of charm at every turn.

Our cabin is located in the quaint village of Green Valley Lake at an altitude of 7,200 feet. Less than a 1 minute walk to the charming lake.

As you walk into this sweet cabin, you'll find an open living space with dining area, kitchen and wood burning fireplace (bring small pieces of wood under 10 inches). A sliding glass door opens to a huge private outdoor deck surrounded by majestic trees. You'll hear the creek and waterfalls in the serene setting that nature has provided during the snowy winter months. Enjoy your morning coffee on the inviting deck. Back inside - down 4 small steps - the main bedroom has a cozy queen sized bed. Second bedroom houses a full sized bed. Both rooms have TV, space heaters and table lamps with dual USB ports and touch control.

The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, cutlery, and dishware.

The entire home is heated by a wall furnace in the center of the cabin that keeps it comfortably cozy in the winter.

The cabin features a compact bathroom with a toilet snugly nestled next to the wall, which may be a bit tight for larger guests. The shower stall is also small, but has amazing water pressure and heats up quick. Despite its size, the bathroom is bright and airy, offering ample storage for your toiletries.

We have Wi-fi so can enjoy your endless streaming of Netflix etc.

Please note that we have two security cameras on the outside of our property. One points at the front door and one points at the back door. The purpose of these cameras is to help us to monitor weather/snow conditions and to ensure the security of the property. Well behaved house trained dogs under 30 pounds may come along with prior approval and $25 pet fee.

great stay but limited hot water

This place is so cute and cozy and the hosts are wonderful! Everything was great EXCEPT the shower... there was only enough hot water for about one shower a day and I found that out the hard way. :,) It's hard to hold it against them though given the cold weather and being in the mountains. Overall so great!!

Very nice little place, as advertised

There was sufficient towels, TP, wood for the fireplace, forks, spoons, pots. Everything worked. The beds were fine, the location is quiet and the next door neighbors were nice folk. It is a 30 second walk to the lake and a few minutes walk to the general store. It was close to Snow Valley and reasonable to Big Bear or the stores and restaurants in Running Springs. Good hiking nearby. We'd certainly stay here.

A relaxing mountain cabin for our family of 4 - Can't wait to come back

This cabin was amazing for our grieving family and in a perfect location in GVL. I picked this cute cabin for a family trip and for our husky. She passed the day we were leaving. I have never felt such agonizing pain and beauty/love all at once while being in the place we loved most (the mountains). This cabin was perfect for cooking all of our meals. Little heaters in every room. TVs worked great. The PATIO was amazing & covered in snow. There are lights that make it even more pretty at night (I bet its gorgeous in spring/summer). Cabin had all kitchen supplies to cook. Lacey was such an amazing person to talk to during this stay and so understanding of the loss we felt. We will be coming back. I loved the home, hospitality, the loud speaker for our little dance parties with my toddlers, the guitar, the bird book, the view of trees from the window and sound of running stream. All so comforting. The beds were warm & rooms were lovely. I can't wait to come back. Thank you Lacey for everything. It is nice finding places home away from home with strangers who understand the grief and are so kind. Refunded the pet fee immediately. You will have our business again & hope to be back soon. Thank you Lacey. Take care :') 333

The ideal semi-rustic cabin/cottage

This place gets high marks in just about every category for anyone seeking a quiet, cozy, semi-rustic time. It's super clean and not musty (as some older places can be). But It also has the comforting feel of being lived-in. (unlike so many corporate owned places). It has a good mixture of vibey lighting and natural window light. The deck really does feel like an extra room and even in the fall we found ourselves sitting out there a lot. The pictures don't do the view from the deck justice. You're basically on the edge of a beautiful, deep, rocky valley with trees all around. We even saw a couple deer climbing through it. The only cautionary note I would add is that the coziness might be felt as cramped by some people who are considerably tall or large. And while it can sleep 4 comfortably, the space is probably most ideal for 2 adults and maybe a small child or two. The lake is as close as you can get without being right on the actual water. There are a couple shops and places down the street to get a bottle of wine or some coffee and a few groceries. It was a peaceful energy but we came in the fall so high season is probably a bit more lively. And a special note for any Canadian ex-pats: This place captures that quaint cottage experience we all grew up with and have learned is extremely hard to find in southern California. We plan on returning!
