About this property
Spacious house close to town - views & hiking to high desert behind house
Welcome to your artist's studio turned guest house just outside the city of Santa Fe!
Park under the covered carport and private patio with a table, chairs, chaise lounge and bbq. Relax and unwind in your home away from home with ping-pong, foosball, cozy couches, comfy beds and views and hikes onto the high desert right behind the guest house. Prepare meals in your full kitchen and lounge and relax in the main room downstairs. Upstairs, stream shows on the 55" flat screen while on your comfy sectional. Do your work on the oak desk in the study niche with second story views to the beautiful high desert behind the house. Luxuriate in your spacious black slate bathroom with jetted tub and steam shower or rest/sleep on either of the queen beds or two twins. The guest house is attached to the main house on the opposite end of the building by sound-proof walls. We will be traveling during most/all of the rental window for the guest house, but there may be longer term renters in the main house on the opposite end of the building. The owners will let you know if that is the case.

About the host
Hosted by Lisa & Robert GOSPER-ESPINOSA

We are Robert and Lisa, a retired couple who have lived in Santa Fe for 20 years now. Robert is from New Mexico, but left for college, career and adventure to the East Coast and Central America. He was a rare book conservator and woodworker. He still enjoys woodworking in his shop. Lisa is from a military family and was raised all over the US and Germany. She was a public school teacher and pastry chef and still enjoys baking. Both of us also love to cook, read and watch films, but our favorite activity is traveling to be with our kids and grandkids. We like to rent the attached guest house when we are traveling, so that others can enjoy the beautiful home and landscape that we love.
Why they chose this property
We think La Cieneguilla -- our little neighborhood just outside of the city of Santa Fe -- has the best of both worlds. We wake to huge skies and miles of high desert behind our house and yet we are only an easy 15-minute drive to town. In addition, we have the best neighbors who enjoy and take care of each other.
What makes this property unique
Our home is a spacious red iron building designed by a sculptor in 2005. The guest house used to be the sculptor's two-story studio -- we turned it into a guest house and installed sound-proof walls between it and the main house. Both the main house and the guest house have large south-facing glass windows which means the home is full of light and views and looks out on the open high desert land behind the house. In addition, both the guest house and main house have private walled patios again with more stunning views.
The main room of the guest house has a full stainless kitchen, kitchen table, couch looking out to the land, queen bed for lounging and ping-pong and fussball tables.
Like most of our neighbors, we have an acre of land, an empty lot on the guest house side of the property, lovely neighbors and the house backs up to open high desert land with a gate out to its many paths for walking.
