A pet-friendly and family-friendly home away from home, with everything that you need to enjoy the best of Orange County. Feel the ocean breeze in a single-level mid-century ranch house with vaulted ceilings, open floor plan and oversize fully-equipped kitchen with KitchenAid appliances and storage galore. This home encourages indoor-outdoor living with pet-proof fencing around both of the large front and rear yards that each offer shaded patio seating. Share your meals al fresco at a secluded outside table with 4 chairs, just opposite from the indoor dining area through a sliding glass door. Gather around a fire in the cast-iron cherimoya in the front yard rocking chairs; or swing from a hammock as you roast a meal on the Broil King grill in your 400 sq.ft. private back patio. Off-street parking is assigned in a space adjacent to the front gate. The property is 420-friendly, but tobacco smoking must remain outside.
Top-quality bedding and furniture will relax your body, while the quiet of a neighborhood that is virtually surrounded by nature will relax your mind.
Walk or ride your bicycle (rental within walking distance) to the ocean and multiple big parks, or to near-by grocery stores, restaurants and other helpful services. Costa Mesa is the hidden gem of Orange County. This big little hideaway proves the case. Generous inside storage includes a coat closet and a linen closet in the hallway. The bathroom includes a large walk -in shower, an optional extra-large handicapped shower chair, an extra-large stainless steel sink with adjustable shelf rack, a bidet for the toilet, and plenty of storage space.
The entertainment center in the great room comprises a 56” Sony big screen TV and a Bose Audio system with remote controls. An adjacent workspace desk with HDMI cable enables the big screen to double as an extended computer monitor.
This detached single family home comprised originally four bedrooms, of which the back two bedrooms were joined in 1987 into a studio suite with a separate entrance and a private patio. The Host lives on-site in that studio dwelling. The front two bedrooms include the home’s original master bedroom with Ethan Allen furniture and a new Sealy mattress set; and a second bedroom with two loft twin beds, one a twin and one custom-sized at 33”x85”.The large living room’s sturdy and comfy custom-made sofa provides another possible single bed measuring 24”x75” with linens and bedding stored in the adjacent cedar chest.
Full on-site laundry with washer-dryer, ironing board and steam iron, drying racks and a deep sink.
** Pets are allowed; however Guests with pets must allow a periodic inspection of the premises to occur at the Host’s discretion, dependent on individual pet behaviors on a case-by-case basis. Any pet damage must rectified by the Guest immediately upon notice by the Host. Any continued stay by the Guest on the premises after the discovery of any damage from a Guest’s pet will be at the Host’s sole discretion. The Host may terminate the Guest stay immediately without further notice, if a Guest pet causes damage to the premises. If the estimate for repair of damage caused by the Guest pet exceeds the amount of the pet deposit, then any additional repair costs will be deducted from whatever refund for cancelled accommodations that would be otherwise due from the Host to the Guest.

Great place to stay!

This rental is everything it is advertised to be and more. Host was awesome, making accommodations for us with evening arrival and some fresh veggies. Home is super cozy and the kitchen is absolutely amazing! There were cookware I would have never even imagined available for our use, Very close to Disney and the beach (which was a large part of our stay) as well as being really close to grocery stores and restaurants.Would definitely stay again!

I enjoy to visit with my family and especially my grandchildren who luckily for me live near by.
I’m a natural food enthusiast and a cancer survivor who defied the oncology odds with the help of a Norwalk juicer and the Gerson Therapy.
I really enjoy living in Costa Mesa, close to the ocean but not far from the airport and major freeways. I occupy a studio dwelling behind the front-house rental; and I cross through the front yard for ingress and egress.
I grew up in a large family, and I enjoy to meet new folks. I am happy to help with any local information and recommendations!
I can provide immediate assistance when needed, with just a knock on my gate or the dividing door. I strive to respond to in-app messages within the hour. However, I also appreciate that some guests prefer privacy and the quiet enjoyment of a pleasant home away from home. This rental can accommodate whatever you choose.

Why they chose this property

With our world getting more and more crowded, I enjoy access to a little bit of the wilderness and the smell of sea air and sagebrush. The call of the geese flying overhead to rest at the duck pond 3 blocks away in Fairview Park soothes my soul. The ocean's on-shore updraft along the mesa provides a steady calm breeze. The real estate is more expensive on the East side of Costa Mesa, but that side of town also has constant noise from the freeway and from the airport. Enjoy the quiet side of town over here on the bluff. There are excellent restaurants, coffee shops, convenience stores, and a Trader Joe’s market all within 1/2 mile from here.

What makes this property unique

You will seldom find a two-bedroom home with this large a kitchen and great room, especially on one level. That's because the house was designed originally for a large family with 4 bedrooms. The front house at 2222 is one of only a few original structures along Canyon Drive. The property was developed in the mid 1950's and subdivided in 1987, into a “planned unit development” comprising four townhouses behind the original house. At that time, the rear two bedrooms of the structure were combined into a studio suite with a private entrance, where now dwells the host, Irina. The “front house” comprises two bedrooms and one bathroom, including all of the extra kitchen, closet and living room space of the original 1956 home. There is a full laundry and extra heavy-duty chef appliances in the garage that are shared with the host.
