Come enjoy coastal Maine island living at this comfortable Southport cottage. This peaceful Newagen retreat will make you feel like you’ve stepped into an Edward Hopper painting where life moves a little slower and the ocean air and buoy bells will be your evening soundtrack. The Cottage at Island Point offers 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with peaks of the water from every bedroom. The outdoor dining area is perfect for your own lobster bake.

The Cottage at Island Point lies at the tip of Southport Island in the community of Newagen, just off the coast of Boothbay Harbor. While you may feel like you are the end of the earth, Newagen is just a short drive across the swinging bridge to all the restaurants, boating excursions, boutique shopping and ice cream parlors that the region as to offer. Closer to home enjoy your morning coffee on a stroll down to Town Landing pier to view the Cuckolds Light Station and Cape Island. Make reservations for Newagen Inn's weekly lobster bake, spend a quiet afternoon at the Southport Library, or book a tour of the Newagan Alpaca Farm. Just a short drive up the other side of the island is the Southport General Store where you can grab a picnic lunch and head to Hendricks Head Beach and view another one of Maine's famed lighthouses. Robinson's Wharf and Cozy's Dockside both offer the perfect Maine backdrop to your seafood dinner. Adults and children alike will enjoy the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens and their giant trolls. For the more active vacationer, the nearby YMCA offers day passes for those who love to play tennis or pickleball. This really is the "Way Life Should Be"

Neighborhood: This is a not a private setting, there are other cottages very near by. You will hear and see neighbors in their yards, children playing, dogs barking, etc. This is a friendly community and neighbors will stop to say hello and chat. We ask that guests be respectful of quiet hours between 9pm and 7am.

Accessibility: All bedrooms and bathrooms are on the 2nd floor and require climbing a narrow staircase

Parking: There is free, off-street parking for 2-3 cars.
