Enjoy the beauty of the four seasons in New Hampshire at the Camp at Newfound Lake. We are located on a dead-end road in the woods next to Whittemore Brook. It is a short walk or drive to a shared beach located on Pasquaney Bay. There is a ramp for day boat use, dock, and raft. We are in the heart of the Lakes Region with abundant hiking, fishing, snowmobiling, and skiing opportunities. The camp is the perfect spot for a snowmobile get-away, ski vacation, fall hiking, or summer water fun. Wellington State Park is nearby with the largest freshwater sandy beach. Newfound Lake has exceptionally clear and clean water due to natural springs. Many mountains are nearby for downhill and cross-country skiing. Ice fishing is popular on the bay. Snowmobile trails are nearby and the views of the lake are spectacular. We have all the equipment necessary to make traveling with little ones easier ~ high chair, porta-cribs, toddler bed, strollers, toys, etc. Let us know what your needs are so we can set up accordingly before you arrive. We are looking forward to sharing our piece of heaven with you.

We had a relaxing week-long get away at this property which was quiet and equipped with all the amenities we needed. The short walk to the lake access point was easy, although on a busy road for a short stretch. The owner was very responsive to any questions. We enjoyed getting to know Bridgewater and Bristol, as well as Newfound Lake.
comfortable, fun house. Short walk to the lake, private boat launch. Had a great experience 😎

Liked: Check-in, communication
Disliked: Location, listing accuracy
In the woods with the gnats, mosquitoes and old mobile homes
The Camp itself was nicely decorated and the check in and out process was easy. Communication with the property owner was easy and he was very responsive. However, while the Camp was a short walk to an association beach, it was located in the woods near a brook which made for a lot of gnats and mosquitoes. The house was also amidst old trailer homes that were in somewhat disrepair. I would also say if you need or are used to couches and mattresses that are firm and need cable TV (you need a smart phone or tablet and have to know how to chrome cast shows in order to watch channels other than local news) THEN this is NOT a place to stay. If these things were disclosed in the rental listing, I would have made a different choice. On the plus side, we were close to some really good restaurants and the lake was just a 2 minute walk from the house. Walmart, grocery stores and major pharmacies were within a 15 minute drive. Also, the house was equipped with nice ceiling fans and window air conditioners in both bedrooms. We didn’t need to use the air conditioners because there weren’t any really hot days. The clean and cool water of the lake was also very refreshing! Newfound Lake and the mountains make for a beautiful vacation and we will definitely be back. I will, however, look for places that are on the water, not in the woods, not amongst old mobile homes, have firmer mattresses and couches.and have cable.
My family enjoyed this vacation so much. The house is located at the end of a lovely wooded road. My two grandchildren enjoyed playing outside so much. The house is just so comfortable and has everything we needed. The kitchen was well equipped. James replied quickly to my inquiries. It was a fabulous time for us!
The camp was exactly what was explained it was going to be. It was a nice quiet area and the host did a great job preparing for our stay..
We will stay again when in the area again.
This was a Very nice, clean home for our stay. Good communication and instructions to make our stay smooth while not over stepping our bounds of the house and property.
Very close to Plymouth and Bristol, it was an ideal location for us to enjoy a beautiful area of New Hampshire.
First, let me make it clear, I had an emergency and could not go at the very last minute ,but my senior aged sisters were still able to go and told me and showed me pictures.. The pictures were not really honest. The camp was clean but there is no "front" yard. The drive was hellish to get in and out of and the neighborhood was not very nice, junky trailers and next door a burned down camp.No cell service, and couldn't hook up the cell phone to the wifi. These things should be mentioned in the Vrbo description. Had to get "insurance" on top of a damage deposit,no cable TV. I called the owner and he was out of town. It would have been nice to know all these things before renting the camp. We will not return.Too many service charges and no cell or TV? I expect to get my damage deposit back. It was a pain to leave the camp just to make calls. The camp was clean . Did not feel welcome. I did call the owner 4 times but nothing he suggested worked. Did have internet.
We stayed at this property for a weekend to attend a wedding up the road. The house was immaculate and had everything we needed. The king bed was so comfortable!! I would definitely recommend staying here!
Cozy camp and nice neighbors, let us store our boat a bit closer. Convenient to stores and ice cream! Very nice host! Would consider renting again there! Thank you
We had a very good stay and the description was spot on. It was a cozy house for the six of us on motorcycles. All six motorcycles fit perfectly in the garage. James was quick to respond to my questions and helpful. Would highly recommend.
“WARNING” Beware. We had safety concerns about the icy conditions upon arrival.
“WARNING” Beware. We had safety concerns about the icy conditions upon arrival. We sent the property manager an email once we established cell phone service. In our email to James Mitchell we indicated, “James. Urgent!! The Road & Driveway is a sheet of ICE. Can’t even get up the driveway to get to the garage. Very slippery DANGEROUS Conditions We parked in front of the Neighbors Red House.
We can’t even get our stuff out of the car it is so slippery. Conditions are expected to deteriorate in the upcoming days. Please contact us immediately”.
His reply to us was, “Hi Paul, your assessment of the conditions is your opinion but not the reality of the conditions. I understand that being from Florida it might seem hazardous, but it just isn't so”.
This statement was somewhat prejudiced, and we found it highly insulting. Yes, it was my opinion, but anyone that dismisses a customer’s safety concerns in this manner does not have your family’s best interest at heart.
We stayed here for a cozy weekend to ski at Ragged Mountain. It was less than a 30 min drive and we felt like we were the only ones around. It was the perfect size for my family of four. We will be back!
Had a lovely stay at this property. Very clean and well maintained. We had a very enjoyable long weekend being able to relax and have family time in this nice house.
The house was exactly what the 3 of us needed as a home base to do some hiking in NH. It was a little tough to find in the dark (Waze sent us down Carriage Rd and we were thoroughly confused in the dark). I highly recommend trying to get there in the daylight as Brook Rd is very narrow and can be tough to maneuver. But the house was great! We love the camp/cabin theme and it was very comfortable.
5 star ratings on everything important- cleanliness, location, communication, easy access. Very quiet this time of year in October. Nice home base for covered bridges, water falls, and leaves gorgeous a little bit north in White Mt National Forest. Thank you James for sharing your property.

About the host
Hosted by James Mitchell
This property was purchased by my parents in 1972 and was used by the family for over three decades. My wife and I bought the property from other family members in 2007. At that time we replaced the old camp that was there and built this new house.
Why they chose this property
This location is very special to our family because of the long history of vacationing here with friends and family. Many memories of my parents, siblings, nieces and nephews - boating and water sports.
What makes this property unique
Two hours from Boston with many attractions in the Granite state. Very centrally located in the Lakes Region. Swimming and boating access to Newfound Lake.
