Welcome to your most cozy place. First floor of our two flat nestled in a quint architecturally significant neighborhood. Live like a local. 2 private bedrooms and the living areas are very spacious, with the flow designed to allow private getaway spaces. One bath is very large and stocked with all you need. Very large kitchen with all cook and dinner ware.
Outdoor space is beautiful. Garage top deck engulfed in Oak Park Trees, fire-pit, dinning table and gas grill, lounge chairs. Lounge, work, commune.

Over 100 - 5-Star reviews for the space design/amenities, the convenient location by car and public trans to Chicago and suburbs, pristine cleanliness, my communication and responsiveness to guest needs and questions. You will find this place to be most comfortable and affordable.

There's a pull out couch with a blow up mattress in the living area, very comfortable for your 5th guest. The neighborhood is home to Frank Lloyd Wright Home & Studio with unique homes along tree lined streets. Tot lot and parks nearby.

Short get-away

My husband and I stayed in Kathy's home for a quick get-away. Her home is beautiful as well as the neighborhood. Quick walk to the L to go into Chicago. Kathy was a gracious host and we would definitely stay there again!

Lovely spot conveniently located

Very comfortable and nice sized apartment close to downtown Oak Park. Restaurants, stores and public transportation within a short walking distance. Surrounding neighborhood is nice. I would highly recommend this unit, and when returning to Oak Park, this unit will be my first choice.

Sad to leave

We had the most wonderful stay. Kathy was an amazing host, extremely helpful and very friendly, I will miss her. The apartment was perfect, lots of lovely space and with all we needed and more. Lots of light and fresh air. The teenagers could find their own space. We loved sitting out front on the porch, watching the birds and greeting the neighbours who were very friendly. I will miss Floyd in particular. I hope we get to come again. Oak Park is lovely to walk around and explore. Frank Lloyd Wright architecture is stunning. Chicago was great, what a lovely city. Thank you for hosting us Kathy.

Great neighborhood, perfect location

Just blocks from my husband’s childhood home; lots of good old memories! Quiet neighborhood, quiet upstairs guests. Close to downtown Oak Park, shopping, restaurants, parks. Apartment is very charming and cozy; kitchen stocked with needed dishes, basic pantry supplies. Kathy, the host, was friendly and available through texts, but was not a bother. We would stay there again!

Absolutely wonderful!

Loved location as it kept me close to everything I needed while in town for high school annual picnic. Kitchen was fantastic as I was able to do some baking and cooking for family and friends,sine this is my home town. Kathy is an EXCELLENT host and I plan on using her lodging again in the future.

lovely old townhouse with big dining und kitchen area. Great for gatherings with friends and family. Close to Oakpark Downtown with many restaurants and small independ shops. Close to Metro. Just about 25 minutes to Chicago downtown. Very friendly and helpfull landlady lives in the same building.

Gorgeous Home; Perfect Neighborhood

We stayed a week at Ms. Kathy’s home. We knew nothing about Illinois, except we wanted to be kind of between our daughter who we were visiting in Channahon, and Chicago. Oak Park is wonderful! I could literally spend all day just walking the historic neighborhood. You can walk to downtown Oak Park, which is a great place for meals, treats, book store, historic movie theatre & a host of other places. If you want, the walk to the “L” train is doable. The actual home is beautiful! There are 2 fairly large bedrooms & both beds are incredibly comfortable. The main bed is adjustable & it vibrates! (Insert cheeky comment here). Also, the large couch folds out - the mattress is inflatable & is very comfortable. The bathroom is beautiful - plenty of hot water & towels. Kitchen is stocked; large oven & gas stove top. We’re from Alabama, so we only know how to survive with central air. This home does not have that, but each room has an air unit & there’s a large unit in living room. And we were very comfortable. Ms. Kathy, the owner, is great. She lives in the basement - you’ll be on the main floor. I texted her with several questions throughout the week & she’s quick & friendly in response. She was very kind, recommending lots of things we can do, both in Chicago & in Oak Park. This place is 5 stars, and I can’t wait to come back in the winter to play in the snow!

Oak Park Weekend

We had a great time at Kathy's fairly priced and very conveniently located apartment in Oak Park. Perfect condition and exactly the right amount of access to the owner. We will definitely make this our home base for frequent trips to Chicago area in the future

Peaceful Haven

My five year old, husband and myself stayed at this beautifully preserved place and absolutely loved it. It was comfortable with modern amenities while also preserving the historic parts. Kathy was very attentive and communicative when needed. We came from out of town for a memorial so staying here definitely helped with soothing our souls from all of the grief we had been encountering. Thank you Kathy for your kindness and hospitality! 🙏

Perfect Oak Park Stay

This is a lovely apartment with hardwood floors throughout, lots of antiques and unique touches that make it a relaxing retreat. The location is convenient to downtown Oak Park and the trains (Green Line and Metra). The owner is very responsive and you can tell she takes a lot of love and care in maintaining and keeping it clean. There is some noise from the people living in the apartment above, but it is not bothersome and only happens during awake hours. It’s typical for an old hardwood floor apartment building. We had a very relaxing and restful stay. The beds are great too! I really loved the chandelier in the bathroom! The adjustable lighting everywhere really helps for a cozy atmosphere. This is one of the best VRBO’s that I’ve stayed at!

We enjoyed our brief stay in this lovely unit. The bedrooms were great and our daughter particularly liked the bright front bedroom. The location is ideal for historic central Oak Park - just a 10-minute walk to downtown and trains to Chicago. We’d be glad to stay again.

Perfect location, great place!

This property is fantastic and completely met our needs. It’s close to some great restaurants and shopping. We traveled to downtown Chicago to the Field Museum, Magnificent Mile shopping, etc and to 6 Flags Great America in Guernee. It was wonderful to have this home-like space to come back to after busy days of sightseeing. Kathy, the owner, made check-in, etc so easy and was always very responsive to our messages. We had more than enough space for our family of 4 and would definitely stay here again!

Comfortable Stay

My group of friends and I live all across the country, all in different states. So, when we finally got one night to come together to hang out, we took the opportunity. We’re all originally from the Chicagoland area, so when we found this place, it was perfect! Kathy was very communicative and so kind to allow us to stay at her home. The apartment was so cute and comfortable. It matched the pictures exactly. There was even a rooftop area to sit outside! The location was also very nice. The check in and out process was incredibly easy. This was my first time using VRBO, and I will be back to use it in the future. Fantastic stay!

Native Chicagoan, Kathy is the dynamic founder and CEO of HR Pilots, Ltd., an international recruiting consultancy. An entrepreneur from a young age, Kathy seemed destined to express her wisdom through a keen sense of resourcefulness that draws people together for higher purposes. While married and raising two children, she built her multi-million dollar company with a unique blend of competent insight and flexible unity.

The death of a close friend stirred questions within her that material prosperity could not fathom. Life's big questions - Who am I? Where did I come from? Why am I here? What's my purpose? - challenged her to learn new ways of thinking and feeling about life. Her yearning to know the True Self led her to study at the School of Metaphysics.

Kathy practiced applied metaphysics from 2011 to 2015. She left school to care for her elderly father in her home and carried on in her new-found awareness of Mind in real life application on her own.

When Covid came to the U.S., an inner mastery of uncertainty began to surface. This was underscored through the passing of her father. Kathy intuitively knew her Life's work was about to take on new dimensions. To meet these defining moments, she knew who she wanted as her mentor and advisor – Barbara Gale Condron. With Barbara's guidance, her True Self began to emerge through inward discipline in dreamwork, meditation, kundalini yoga, breath work, mirror resonance, visualization and creative expression.

Always striving, Kathy began a vision quest traveling 25,000 miles from coast to coast. This True Self Journey included a 9-Day Private Retreat with Scott and Sydney Hilburn at their home retreat center in Austin, Texas. This sparked her desire to collaborate with them and the Amrit Yoga Collective, to produce The Return to Spirit Retreat for personal growth & well-being.
