I know what you are thinking... we all say it in every description of all of the area homes. But this house has it all! You are not going to want to leave and after you get there you won't need to. Privately located in Hanover Maine this house beckons for all to enjoy just being there. Thoreau Mountain Haven offers a luxurious and comfortable retreat for families and groups. This spacious rental boasts breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, providing a perfect backdrop for a memorable getaway. Whether you want to take a nap in one of the four cozy bedrooms, relax in one of the three and half luxurious bathrooms, sit by the fireplace, soak in the oversized hot tub, challenge yourself with some video games, or enjoy an intense game of pool, Thoreau Mountain Haven has something for everyone. The bedroom upstairs to the right is the "Owl's Nest" with a queen size bed and TV. To the left is the "Naughty Moose" room. Who knows why the Moose is naughty? This room also has a queen bed and TV. On the main floor is the primary bedroom with private bath. This room is called the "Lucky Buck" . With any luck this will be the room you stay in. Also on the main floor there is the "The Overlook" this room has a full sleep sofa. In the basement there is "The Bear Cave" this Bunkroom has five single beds. This is a great spot for the young ones of the group. In the other part of the basement is the additional family room with three TVs, pool table, game system and additional sleeping area. Air conditioned with heat pumps it is very comfortable in the heat! If you actually aren't completely entertained just immersing yourself in this home and the stunning views you are only 3 miles from the public access to Howard Pond in Hanover. Howard Pond is a picturesque and serene body of water. Known for its crystal-clear waters and tranquil surroundings, the pond is a popular spot for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers. The area is characterized by its dense forests, rolling hills, and scenic mountain views, making it an ideal destination for those seeking a peaceful retreat. The pond itself is relatively small but offers a variety of recreational activities. In the summer, visitors can enjoy swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. The calm waters are perfect for a leisurely paddle or a refreshing dip. During the fall, the area around Howard Pond becomes a vibrant tapestry of colors as the leaves change.
