About this property

This renovated 2 bedroom casita condominium located in the Rams Hill development in the desert community of Borrego Springs has a beautiful view of the desert and mountains. The kitchen is fully equipped with all new stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, and dishwasher. Large flat screen TV with DVD player and internet access. No cable but has a computer hookup to stream from your computer. There is a twin size and full size sofa sleeper in the living room to accommodate two extra guests, and a wood burning fireplace. Downstairs bedroom has a queen bed, walk in closet and desert view facing west. Bathroom has large tub and two sinks. Upstairs bedroom has a queen bed, is fully enclosed (not a loft room) with a beautiful art glass ocotillo design window in the interior wall, a private full bath and sun deck. Gas barbecue on the back patio, fire pit table and stunning views of the desert and mountains. The Ram's Hill award winning golf course was recently re-opened and is available on a per play basis. There are also several golf courses within a few miles of the Rams Hill development. Lots of hiking trails and places to bike throughout the Borrego area. Borrego '24

Second time in this unit. Great location, close to clubhouse, expansive desert views. Many upgrades, nice kitcen and liing area. Best was the upstairs bedroom and bath. After the long winter rental season the unit could use some maintenance and TLC which I'm sure it will get. Nothing that interrupted our annual Borrego Springs visit.

Rams Hill

Small but good lay out. Kitchen nicely re-done. Had the things you need. Only down side this time of year is western exposure on patio side, hot in the afternoon. Have to keep the blinds pulled. Otherwise good view to the west.

Beautiful dwelling except………

Beautiful place just like photos. Dirty laundry in washer. Dryer full. All hand soaps almost empty. Empty laundry detergent and dirty under beds. I got zero “I am sorry. What can I do.”? I DID receive an earful of excuses blaming staff because the owner has 4 rentals to clean. PS. This place shares a wall with a 1BR 1BA dwelling which was less than pleasant.

Nice accommodations for adult family members visiting Borrego Springs. All as advertised - day one development gate entry glitch was nicely resolved by the owner, much obliged.

Great get away

Nice property in Ram’s Hill. Close to the clubhouse, pool, rec center. Biked all around and it was extremely quiet and clean. We will be back.

Nice property but not refreshed

Property was nice and well equipped. Some area were not refreshed before we came. The Master shower had spiders and spider webs in the basin. Also, it was 90 degrees inside which tells me it probably was cleaned after the last person left, but not refreshed when we came, otherwise the cleaning crew would have started the air. The fabric softener was a gelatinous glob. It may have sat unused for quite some time. I had to dump the ice and make more because it was a block. It was also yellow like someone had spilled something in there.

Great location

The property was conveniently located outside of Borrego Springs and easy access to Anza Borrego State Park. The assistants at the kiosk were friendly and the Rams Hill Complex is well maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed out stay

This casita was the perfect size and location. We love staying at Rams Hill. Loved the outdoor patio with table fire pit as well as indoor fireplace. Judy was very responsive to all my questions. We would definitely stay there again.

Perfect for us even though we weren’t golfers

This was a comfortable casita. We stayed a month. The view of the desert greeted us every morning. The extra banisters for the shower and stairs were very helpful. There was a lot of thought put into making visitors comfortable.

Clean and Comfortable

This condo was great! It was clean and comfortable. There were some nice walking areas around the complex, and it was close to the little town of Borrego Springs where we picked up some last minute necessities and ate at the restaurants a couple of times. Communication with the owners was good also. Would definitely stay there again.

Nice time in Borrego

Everything s advertised. One minor temporary problem - refrigerator door closure emits chirps if not closed correctly. A call to owner revealed source of sound. Otherwise, all good.

Cute Casita!

The place was wonderful, great location, and a nice community, with incredibly easy to access parking spot right out of the back yard if you happen to be transporting luggage to and from the condo. Also a great place to watch the stars from! It is very spacious and stocked with all the essentials. Owners are very responsive. The people running the kiosk to the community were also very nice!

Walking distance from the Rams Hill golf course. Very smooth check in process and the place was very comfortable and had everything we needed plus more! Very easy to get in touch with the owner. Will definitely be back here for future trips!

Relaxing fun weekend

The owners were so helpful and the property is in a great location. We were 15 mins away from where we could enjoy atv riding, dirt bike riding and then come back to the condo where we enjoyed relaxing at the pool and spending quality family time.

Nice stay

Well located in the Casitas at Ram’s Hill. Very well provisioned rental from bandaids to cookware. Very responsive owners. The unit had been rented for several months before our term and some things needed fixing. The owners had every item repaired or replaced. The cleaning people could have done a better job.

About the host

Owner John has been in the construction industry for over 40 years so he was undaunted by the task of renovating a 'fixer upper' casita. We love the desert and had been looking for an opportunity to purchase a casita in the Rams Hill development for many years. When the opportunity arose, we jumped on it. The two story casitas in Rams Hill have open loft upstairs bedrooms. We decided to fully enclose the upstairs room to provide more privacy for guests. We installed an Ocotillo desert mountain scene art glass window in the new wall in the upstairs bedroom.

Why they chose this property

We have been visiting the Borrego area for many years and often have stayed in Rams Hill casita rentals. We feel that the location, gated entrance, beautifully kept grounds around the casitas and the elevated location above the desert floor lend a setting that is unequaled in the area. It was a logical extension of our staying in casita rentals to purchasing one for our own enjoyment. We also own a lot in the San Felipe community within Rams Hill and the casita will provide a base for us to operate from when we eventually build a custom home there.

What makes this property unique

The fire pit seating area on our patio lends a very unique experience to enjoying the nights in our casita. We have spent evenings looking at the spectacularly starry night sky with a cozy fire in the fire pit. Our patio faces west towards the desert and mountains so the view is one that few other casitas in this development share. We enjoy taking long walks through the area.
