About this property
Luxe cottage in prime tropical North Park setting
Comfort, privacy and convenience to Balboa Park, San Diego Zoo, Morley Field Sports Complex, and all the shopping and dining destinations that have put North Park on the national map, make this cozy tropical cottage your perfect home away from home. Beautifully equipped and extravagantly furnished, you'll find most every detail will surpass your expectations.
The eat-in kitchen has been fitted with sleek European style cabinetry, quartz composite counters, task lighting, and a full suite of appliances, including a gas cooktop, oven and microwave with convection settings, and Bosch fridge and dish machine. The dining area features a bank of casement windows for lots of light and fresh air, pleasing outlooks to the garden and vintage furnishings by McGuire.
A huge picture window with a southern exposure, washes the living room with great light, and provides views to the Kentia Palms, heirloom bamboo and Bird of Paradise out front.. The seating is of leather and linen, and super comfortable. The silk rug will be a treat under foot. A massive oil by California artist, Matthew Frederick, strikes a pleasing tropical tone, and up-to-the-minute TV technology will dazzle you.
The office area is bright and open, and features a vintage barrel desk by Bernini, in tamboored Rosewood, circa 1968. It'll make you feel really important and powerful, even if you're not. A credenza provides lots of storage.
The bed and bath feature luxury linens you'll only feel in the very finest hotels and resorts. No joke. The bed is of medium firmness, with a vintage leather-bound rattan headboard by McGuire. Grasscloth clad nightstands and a generous oak and bronze dresser provide lots of storage, in addition to a huge built-in closet with integrated drawers. A channeled wool rug will please your toes, and linen black-outs will keep the morning at bay until you're good 'n ready to rise.
The bath is fitted with porcelain tile on the flooring, counters and shower surround. There is a tub with overhead shower, with frameless glass enclosure. Original cabinetry features a really cool laundry catch, and lots of space for linens.
Outside is a flagstone patio with just enough room for two, buffered from neighboring properties by a stand of mature bamboo. Hey, I made a rhyme!
Additional features/amenities include laundry facilities, parking, central heating and air, dual pane windows and doors, white oak flooring, recessed lighting, and WIFI, (no cable). What else could you ask for?!? Don't say cable
