Wifi is now upgraded to Starlink if you need to work from home. It is fast enough for working (ethernet cable is available) from home, and even suitable for my nephews to bring their online video games up without a much of a “lag” according to my teenage expert review.
The view:
You can really see a wide-angle view of the Nantahala National Forest along with the Nottely River that feeds into the Hiwassee Lake (we’ve been told it is a River-Lake by locals). The river is lower in the winter when they dam it, but returns to full in the spring until the fall. Also, you will see Panther Top Fire Tower in your View of the mountains. The sunset can be viewed from the firepit area as well as the lower deck.
The Space:
This is a quaint Log Cabin is about 2,000 sq ft. It is just big enough to enjoy with 1-3 small families or couples. You will enjoy the recently installed enlarged deck and sunset views over the Nantahala National Forest. The sunset can be enjoyed from the firepit on the spare lot as well.
Bedrooms:
-On the main level you have two small bedrooms that share a bathroom with a tub/shower. One of the bedrooms has a queen bed, and the other has 4 twin bunk beds(one is a pull out)
- The loft is open to the main living room space and boasts a softer memory foam king sized mattress. This space includes a small bathroom with a standup shower.
- The basement area has one queen bed, a full, love seat to read or watch the smart tv, a bathroom with a standup shower, and a laundry room. There is a crib, and mattress available in the closet in the basement across from the kitchenette area. This space has a private entrance.
Kitchen:
Has stainless steal pots and pans, cooking utensils, silverware, cups, coffee mugs, a drip coffee maker compatible with K-cups as well, tea kettle, toaster, blender, Instapot, plates, kid plates/cups/silverware, and a toddler chair too 😀. Of course, a refrigerator, electric stove top, oven, microwave, and dishwasher are accessible. We will attempt to keep the coffee bar stocked to help those out as they arrive as well!
Living Room:
Consists of flat screen tv with smart features on the Roku stick, a couch, two comfy chairs for enjoying a fire inside.
Other Amenities:
We have iron with ironing board, extra hangers, towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, napkins, and some other items to get you started
You may just want to stay forever, just kidding, but sometimes we wish we could!
Guest Access:
Guests renting the entire cabin will have access to all of the spaces mentioned above with the exception to the owner’s closet. You and your group will also have access to the two lots on the eastern side of the cabin for parking, football, cornhole, wiffle ball games, and the firepit.
Other things to Note:
In an effort to maintain a secure premises, this cabin is equipped with 3 cameras. One at the front door looking down the pathway to the entrance, one on the front viewing the parking area, and one on the west side viewing the path to the basement. These are on and motion activated recording video and sound, but do not view the interior of the cabin. We do not have any listening devices or cameras inside the cabin. That’s just weird.
This is a neighborhood with permanent residents. Although you will feel like you are secluded from other houses, we ask that the quiet hours of 10pm to 8am be respected. If we receive complaints from neighbors, we reserve the right to terminate your stay without a refund. Please turn music way down after 10pm out of respect for the neighbors.
4WD is not required to access this property. The neighborhood is well paved and does not have the “I’m going to fall off a cliff” feel as you drive to the cabin. The second driveway on the additional lot is very flat, so small cars may prefer that entryway. You can simply drive down through the lots to the main cabin entrance. There are two steps up to the main cabin entry walkway.
