The property was nice, but not enough parking for the 10 of us. We actually were approached by the police about the number of cars we had parked at the property, and were told to move them. There is only room for 2 cars in the driveway, so that needs to be addressed based on the number of bedrooms. Other than that, and some cold showers, we enjoyed our stay.m for 2 cars. K
Reported to the City - Unclean, Safety Issues, No Permit to Rent
I reported this rental to the city building department, prosecutor’s office, and a council member. I also submitted a complaint to the County Health Department. The house did not have a current leasing permit and the conditions were sub-par. I shared photos, video, and text conversations with city officials. We left after the first night of our week-long stay.Safety: There was a loose plastic/vinyl backsplash behind the stove, sharp-edged and rough-cut material around a bathtub window, damaged screens, a broken screen door, a cracked window, and an unanchored bathroom mirror. The garage had signs of mold and a large hole in the ceiling with insulation hanging out. Cleanliness: Bed had dog hair on the bedspread and sheets. The mattress protector had dirt and hair on it. We found hair and debris on stairs, dirty windows, and cobwebs throughout. The couch cushions had dirty paw prints on both sides and debris under them.Host: The host dismissed safety concerns, denied cleanliness issues and stated she cleaned the home herself. She said I needed to lower my standards and “invited us to find other accommodations”. She refused to reimburse any amount.City: I obtained a copy of the permit violation, spoke with the city prosecutor’s office, a city council member, and sent them my photos and video. This home has negative reviews on other short term rental sites that we didn’t know about. If you don’t believe our review, read theirs.
