Lovely home in great neighborhood

My brother in law and I went to Fort Myers for a week of Spring Training. The house worked well and it was clean, although sparsely furnished and in need of several minor repairs. The negative was that when I arrived and checked my email, there was a message from the host informing me that the house is for sale and would be shown at 4:30 PM the next day. Being jet-lagged, I misread it and thought it had already been shown. At about 5 PM the following day, we returned from a game to find 6-8 people who had to door code about to enter the house with NO Real Estate sales person. I found this unacceptable but when I reported my discomfort to the host, she dismissed my concern, but promised not to show it again while we were there. Two days later, there was a realtor in the house who had left a business card. This is unprofessional to say the least and at least, should have been mentioned in the listing.

Renters beware

Do not do business with Shelley Hughes. At first glance the condo was NOT clean. Counter tops filthy and sticky. The micro-wave and stove top had to be cleaned before it could be used. Sliding glass doors broke and would not open. The washer was throwing codes and sounded as if its on its last leg. The ceiling fans were all in tact but could not used because they worked on remote but there were no batteries for the one remote and the other remote was missing. The linens and towels were all thin and worn out. Shelley accused me of stealling 5 towels which is a lie. All beds were stripped and dirty towels were left in the laundry room floor. The mattresses did NOT have a mattress pad or water barrier on the beds. A medical emergency occurred and the paramedics had to adminster life saving drugs. In the course of treating the patient blood got on the got on the second hand mattress which Shelley purchased USED off of market place per Shelley. SHELLEY then demaned i purchase a brand new mattress. Which I did and bought new pillows because they were hard lumps and i bought a mattress pad cover. Shelley then demanded we pay 600 dollars for a cancelation. VRBO said we do not owe anything. I left the condo cleaner than what i found it in. I would have finished cleaning the spots of blood on the door frame had the cleaning person NOT shown up an hour early. Checkbout was suppose to be at 11am and Tony arrived at 1qam.
