About this property
Cottage Retreat + Special Concierge Add-ons service
Grab a long ski weekend while the snow lasts—and immerse yourself in Starlight Cottage's winter delights! Tucked alongside one of Northern Michigan’s premier snowmobile trails with access to three ski resorts and picturesque Downtown Petoskey, this cozy 3-bedroom cottage offers the perfect home base for winter adventure or pure relaxation. Ask about our special concierge services to make your stay unforgettable.
The Location:
Nestled in the natural beauty of Northern Michigan, Starlight Cottage offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by towering pines and shimmering birches, just steps from the scenic Pickerel Lake.
A perfect year-round destination, Starlight Cottage is ready to welcome you to summer adventures like hiking through nearby nature preserves, swimming, fishing, and kayaking at Pickerel Lake, or visiting local wineries (the fabulous Crooked Vine Vineyard is just down the road) for a taste of local wine. Stroll through the charming streets of downtown Petoskey or catch the ferry for a day trip to the iconic Mackinac Island.
In the winter Starlight Cottage is transformed to a magical winter escape, the ideal location for skiers, snowmobilers, and winter sports enthusiasts. Located on one of Northern Michigan's top snowmobile trails and just minutes from premier ski resorts like Nub’s Nob and Boyne Highlands, the cottage offers easy access to snowshoeing, skiing, snowmobiling, and sledding, with an attached two-car garage provides convenience in any weather.
Year-round, Starlight Cottage boasts a nightly blanket of stars (on clear nights you can even see the Milky Way!) constellations, and stunning moonlit views over Pickerel Lake.
Birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts will be delighted by the cottage's proximity to three wildlife preserves and in the summer months will enjoy daily visits from deer, turkeys, sandhill cranes, and more species of birds than we’ve been able to count.
The Home
This beautifully appointed 3-bedroom, 2-bath cottage comfortably sleeps six-seven, making it perfect for couples, family getaways, or groups of friends. With modern features like our new Apple TV, a fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops, updated appliances, stylish tile showers, hardwood floors, and cozy furnishings and décor, every moment at Starlight Cottage invites contentment and relaxation.
Sleeping Accommodation Notes:
During the winter months, our home comfortably accommodates up to 6 people, with three private bedrooms (with two queen-sized beds and a twin) and an oversized sofa and loveseat (a perfect space for kids).
In the summertime, the three-seasons room becomes our fourth bedroom, offering a comfortable additional sleeping area for two more guests on a sofa sleeper (some say this is the best room in the house!), to accommodate a total of 8 guests.
Work if You Must
While Starlight Cottage is geared for relaxation, it’s also the perfect place to mix work and play with its high-speed TruStream fiberoptic internet and two dedicated workspaces, making this a great option for remote work retreats. A three-seasons room offers a peaceful space to unwind, and its tree-lined two acres offers plenty of room for meditative strolls, family fun, and organized (or disorganized) outdoor activities.
Pet-Friendly & RV Ready
Starlight Cottage welcomes your pets, and RV travelers and guests will appreciate the pull-through RV parking space, complete with electricity and water.
