About this property

Big Canoe Mountaintop Home with Hot Tub

The Tallant Treehouse is the perfect mountain getaway, suitable for a family with children or a few couples! The rustic yet freshly renovated home sits at 2,200ft elevation with panoramic views of the North Georgia mountains. Our mountain retreat features multiple living spaces including 2 fireplaces (one in the living room and one on the 3 seasons/screened porch), along with an expansive back deck with hot tub, 2 primary suites, and an adorable bunk room for the kids. Inside the gates of Big Canoe lies a private community in Jasper, Georgia. Big Canoe offers 27 miles of hiking trails, waterfalls, 3 lakes, 27 holes of golf, Jeep trail, beautiful clubhouse (closing for renovations August 2024), fitness center, tennis/pickleball courts (indoor & outdoor), 3 restaurants, and the kid's favorite - a beach club (featuring the famous Rock Slide!) 22 minutes to The Tate House, 20 minutes to Gibbs Gardens, and close to many North Georgia wineries.

The Home
This cozy 3 bedroom, 2 bath home sleeps 6 comfortably, with a King bedroom (downstairs), a Queen bedroom (upstairs), and a bunk room with a twin over full bed (downstairs). The downstairs bath is connected to the King bedroom and is shared with public spaces, while the upstairs bath connects to the Queen room. Both bathrooms are uniquely and stylishly decorated and are well stocked with towels.

Enter the home from the level driveway and stepless entry, where you are immediately greeted by mountain views spanning the entire back wall of windows. The stacked stone fireplace and beams add rustic charm. There is a round dining table which seats 6 and is perfect for a game of cards as well as enjoying a meal. Beyond the dining room you'll find one of our favorite features - a 3 seasons room with another stone fireplace! Many of the windows open out so it can become a screened porch if weather permits.

The kitchen is fully stocked with all the essentials. Lots of cookware and serving pieces ensure you have all the comforts of home needed to whip up your favorite meal. The full size refrigerator enables you to keep all of your favorite foods and drinks without making multiple trips to the grocery store!

Enter the back deck through the living room or the 3 seasons room and find stunning mountain views as well as a dining table for 4, a seating area with a gas powered fire pit, a hot tub, and a built in propane grill. The hot tub seats 3-4 adults. It is a bit more shallow than a typical hot tub (full disclosure) but the long-range views from the hot tub make up for it!
There is also a gas powered fire pit on the back deck for those evening s’mores!

Being on top of the mountain is so nice in the summer! There is usually a slight breeze up here, and there is so much to do in Big Canoe in summer! Spring and Fall are also wonderful as our temperatures are generally pretty mild in those seasons (Fall is truthfully not much different than summer until late October)!

Minimum age of 25 to book. We will need to register you with the gate ahead of your stay to allow access into Big Canoe. This is useful when taking advantage of the a la carte amenities as well. Check in is contactless. Washer and Dryer in walk-in bedroom closet on main floor. There are 4 Smart TVs (1 on screen porch, 1 in living room, 1 in king room, 1 in queen room), and Wi-Fi throughout. Driveway is large enough for 3 cars .

A short 5 minute drive to the Clubhouse or Beach Club!
Please note that we are on top of a mountain and the road up has some steep parts. The roads in Big Canoe are all paved and well maintained.
We look forward to hosting you! This is our home away from home, and we hope you'll feel right at home way up here on the mountain!

A Lovely Quaint Cabin

My family and I enjoyed our stay. Very clean, comfortable beds, well kept, and supplied with most everything you will need for a vacation stay. The hot tub and views are a bonus! Our host Mary was awesome! No regrets with this booking. We would love to return for another stay in the future.

Fall Break Stay

Great experience from start to finish. Mary Beth was so nice and kind. The house was perfect, clean and well stocked , the beds were very comfortable, nice soft sheets and lots of cozy blankets to cuddle up with and great soft towels as well. I tend to be picky but i have zero complaints! It was such a nice and easy stay. Can’t forget the view , it was stunning!! We will definitely plan to stay here again !
