Pictures are nothing like the house

Was told it is a one bedroom house, come to find out it is the downstairs area of the house. The pictures were not of the area staying in. House smelled like cigarette smoke, my normal pickup didn't fit in driveway, dog wad upstairs barking. The hot tub wasnt allowed to be used until the homeowner got home to show how to use it. I left the property after being there 30 minutes to find a hotel. What a waste of money

Awesome Stay in Lansing

My boyfriend and I were in town to visit his daughter who is a student at the college. The property was just as advertised. We had great communication with the hostess. She was very accommodating and informative. We loved our experience and will definitely be staying there again when we are back in the area.

Not as expected

Basically I'd say the same as the previous review where the owner claimed the person was drunk. I did not stay either. She met me at the door to tell me that it was not the whole house as I expected, but because VRBO does not allow shared spaces she would "stay downstairs".It was like showing up to a house where a family or friend offered you an extra room, which would be fine. The sink was not clean, the trash was not taken out, there were flies in the kitchen. Again, not terrible, would be fine if it was staying with a friend, but not as advertised. I was advised the hot tub "sometimes shorts out" and the fact that it was on an elevated wood deck definitely made me wonder about weight capacity if it was engineered for such. The host offered me upstaris or downstrairs due to the misunderstanding. I offered to just cancel and write a review praising correcting the misundstanding since it sounded like I was putting her out of her way, but she was clear that was not an option. Then I said the downstairs looked preferable and wouldn't be as big of a deal with her pets (by her own words), but that wasn't an option on at least night 1 because she needed to watch football down there the first night.. After she went downstairs, I could hear everything on the downstairs TV from upstairs. I took some pictures and then advised her I would not be staying and opened a complaint with VRBO. I suspect the last review was valid and not drunk/after hours as stated.

This is not a whole unit the description is misleading

I was unpleasantly surprised when I arrived to discover that the place was not an entire unit but only a room at a poorly maintained house. We did not stay the night due to being misinformed about the property.
