We had an great stay in Galveston. The property was in good location to everything. Nice house. Photos as advertised. We liked the deck. Easy check in. Would stay here again.
Great time with friends and some not seen since the 80’s. Close to The Strand and there is a Carriagehauserentals.com right on the corner. Had a wonderful time.
This home was very clean and well equipped. The beds and furnishings were quite comfortable. Six of us (5 adults and 1 child) were very comfortable. We only stayed one night before our cruise. We got into Galveston earlier than the 3:00 pm check in time and Jenny (the owner) allowed us to drop our luggage off which was a tremendous help. We found this home’s location quite walkable. We walked to the beach and then later walked to dinner and back. We did hire an Uber to take us to the Port — 2 vehicles for our group with luggage was around 18.00 per vehicle.
Overall this property was great for a 1 night stay in preparation for the cruise. It was close to the port and not far for stores or restaurants. Initially we had trouble getting WiFi password through the app but Jeany was quick with responding and helped us.
It was exactly as it was listed. We had 42 in our group for a cruise and we were all pretty close together. Everything that our group needed was there.
Spacious and convenient. Upstairs tub/shower combination was a bit difficult to get water regulated and the ally way down the side of house was noisy at night. Refrigerator water spigot didn’t work.
We've got 3 kids that hate sleeping on sofa beds. This house was cheaper then renting 2 hotel rooms and so much more room! They each got their own queen size bed, and so comfortable! All bedrooms and a tub bath are upstairs. 2nd bathroom downstairs. Driveway is tight, not for large vehicles, but you can park right in front of the house. Owner was super easy to work with and allowed us an early check in. Beautiful house! All amazing, thank you so much!!
Overall this property worked well for our group of six. Bedrooms were spacious and bathrooms, kitchen, and laundry were functional. Wi-Fi and TV worked well. Location was great and walkable to many of the attractions in the city. The couch in the living room was broken and the room could benefit from more seating and a rearranged layout to take advantage of the space. The door knob for the upstairs bathroom is loose and needs to be fixed to prevent the possibility of someone getting stuck in there. The temperature of the house was very cold upon arrival. The weather was unusually cold but the heat should have been increased earlier. Those were relatively minor issues and can be easily addressed.
For what we needed, this was very nice... Walking distance to the strand! For breakfast, there's a bagel shop and donut place, each 1 block away. There are two golf cart rental places within walking distance. A dollar store is also near by in case you need any last minute toiletries, etc. So even though we didn't have a car, we were still able to go places and see things comfortably. The only thing I would complain about is the noise. This home (all homes in Galveston?) seems to be very old and outdated. Being from California (earthquake country) building codes are much more strict. I was kind of shocked to see some of the "structures" (still standing) in Galveston. The windows and doors definitely need to be updated. You can hear just about everything from outside. The birds were quite loud. So if that bothers you, look elsewhere.Three spacious bedrooms upstairs accommodated my family of 6 very well. Beds were comfortable, but the king bed squeaks like crazy if it moves... There's only one tv downstairs, and it's on the smaller side. Laundry worked well. Jeany was pleasant to communicate with. Check-in/check-out was very easy.Thank you! We enjoyed our stay.
