Such a fun and spacious home.
A lovely HUGE house full of many games, toys and activities as well as room to move about, be private and in company. An excellent gathering place for family, quiet and private. We loved sitting on the porch with morning coffee or late evening and watching the sky. We found the photos about beds and bedrooms a little confusing so it may be worth messaging the host if you are not sure to find what you need. This is a fabulous beach community. Highly recommend the Cawaja General Store for breakfast and lunch sandwiches and full coffee bar. The Cawaja beach was our favourite for walking on. Thanks, Natasha for a lovely family gathering time.

Balm Beach cottage
We had a good time at the cottage. The large porch was a nice place to relax. The pool table was great. A few mattress upgrades with higher bedframes and some new kitchen supplies would make this a five star rental.

Beautiful Log Cottage
We stayed at this cottage for 3 days after Christmas. The place was very spacious, great for our family of 4 kids and 6 adults. Everything was as advertised and very clean. All appliances worked well. The beds were comfortable, but my husband and I who are seniors found it difficult to get up from the very low king bed. Renters are given detailed cleaning instructions and we were happy to find the place equipped with a built-in vacuum cleaner. Given the right circumstance we would definitely want to rent it again.

Wonderful family getaway!
We really enjoyed our stay. Balm Beach lodge is very spacious. There was lots for the kids to do during our family weekend. We enjoyed the wood burning fireplace on the cool nights and the outdoor fire pit on the warmer nights. The beach was also a short walk away. We're very happy with the whole experience!!

Big cottage but needs cleaning
We stayed at this property over the long weekend. The cottage is big, spacious with a good number of activities for adults. The lawn/yard is big and can be used for a variety of purposes. Basement is newly renovated. Natasha was quick with her response to inquiries. A few things that we noticed: - swings are in a bad condition and needs to be repaired. We had kids with us that really wanted to use the swing set but it was old and broken. The wooden ladder was about to break when my 3 year old nephew tried climbing it. The infant swing was missing a harness so it couldn’t be used. The trampoline was missing the zipper to close it and the padding was ripping off from several places. Overall, the play area wasn’t safe for kids. - the cottage can use a much deeper/detailed cleaning. The bedding was not in a great condition and some blankets smelled like they haven't been washed. - some of the faucets were not working properly in the bathrooms. The only bathroom that was in good condition was the basement one since it was newly renovated. - furniture was old and worn out but not a big deal since we were only there for a few days Overall, the place was big but we wouldn’t return for a family trip because it wasn’t clean and we felt the play area was just unsafe for our kids.

Not the cleanest
It was a perfect size for us as we had a total of 13 people visiting throughout the week. It was a nice looking, spacious place but it was not kept up very well. We were under the impression that the owner expect the guests to do the cleaning when she should be hiring cleaners to do the “heavy lifting” between guest visits. We felt we left the place in better condition that it was left for us. Here were some of the issues: With regards to the main floor, the dishwasher was falling apart, and many dishes were dirty in the cupboard and had to be rewashed before using. The drawers with utensils had a lot of debris in them, appearing as if they hadn’t been wiped down in some time. There could also be a better array of cooking pots and pans with lids that fit. Both fireplaces had not been cleaned out so we didn’t use them as we weren’t prepared to clean it out before and after. There were four remotes on the TV stand and none of them worked the TV. It wasn’t until day three that we found the one we needed behind some knickknacks on the mantle above the fireplace. That area looked like it had never been dusted. We found the back of the remote in the couch on the last day we left when checking the pillows to make sure we didn’t leave anything behind.Upstairs the bedrooms weren’t very clean. We found things that other visitors left, such as a baby bottle, dirty socks and the worst being mouse poo in some of the corners of the living room areas. The upstairs bathtub had dead bees and wasps in it when we first arrived. We were excited by the games that the house offered, such as billiards but only one cue worked well and there was no chalk for the tips. The chess set was missing around 4 pieces so we couldn’t use it. The games in the basement seemed to be okay although the ping pong balls and rackets could have been of better quality. As we were cleaning up after ourselves on the front lawn, we found a dart and a sharp metal structure that could have cut someone’s foot if they had stepped on it, The kids loved the trampoline and the swing set. However the ladder on the swing set is cracked and It should be repaired. Our most worrisome experience was with the BBQ. It has not been cleaned out in ages and was filled with grease. It caught on fire and we were worried that it would burn the balcony roof above it as the whole building is made of wood. We searched for a fire extinguisher and were unable to find one. A family member took apart the BBQ and cleaned

Lovely spacious house
The photos represent well this lovely house. Very spacious and clean. The yard has activities for the kids, with a large safe front yard to run around and play ball. A number of games indoors including ping pong, air hockey, pool table (needs loving care) and a number of books are available for your enjoyment. Lots and lots of seating areas indoor and outdoors.

Winter stay
We enjoyed our stay at this cottage. Few things they could improve on is the sitting room couches, as quite uncomfortable and 1 couch was broken. The cottage and bathrooms where clean on arrival, however a deeper clean of the place would be beneficial ie- cobwebs in ceiling and kitchen cupboards.

Beautiful place with so much potential
This cottage is absolutely beautiful. It has lots of room and so much potential. First off it was so much more than we were expecting when we booked! We pulled in and It really is beautiful from the outside. The inside is spacious but dated and could use some updating. Pictures and decor are very old, but had nothing to do with our stay, so just an observation. I will do a thorough review of the good and the needs improvement. The main floor bedroom would be better if it had a normal bed and not one 5inches from the ground. Although if this was for teens or kids it may have been ok, just not 50+ adults. Bedrooms upstairs were ok, there are holes in the drywall above the twin bed in kids room which should be fixed. The house could use a really good cleaning, but overall was tidy. Silverware, dishes, pots and pans are extremely old. Can opener did not work which was frustrating because I needed it, and along with the cutlery and all utensils are probably easily 50yrs+ old, finding a sharp knife was a challenge. We had to basically wash all dishes and anything we used in the kitchen before hand. We did not use the dishwasher as we did not feel it did a great job. All that being said if you are not extremely picky this place was amazing for the price. It had all the basic amenities you would need and really is stunning. With a good cleaning and some updating this could be a 5 star resort! Basement is being worked on which is a great sign but overall is lots of fun with lots to do for the kids. Ping pong, foosball etc. There is a pool table upstairs that is fun but again it’s old and has one of the pockets held together with what ever was available. Although it does not make it unusable so it’s good. It snowed while we were there and there was no snow removal of the driveway so lucky we were able to get in and out ok. It’s 10-15mins to town for groceries or anything you need, this was very handy. Lots of room to sit and spread out, couches were comfy but again old, and we were afraid one may break before we left. Fireplace was lovely and we used it daily. Sadly we had skiiing booked that got cancelled due to the covid shutdown. Lots of counter and cupboard space. We used the bbq and had no problems. Beautiful porch, I imagine it would be a fantastic place to sit and have a coffee in the spring, summer and fall even. We really enjoyed our stay and would go back in a heartbeat! Thank you for our stay!

Great Location
This home is only a 2 minute drive from Balm Beach, or a 15 minute walk. Parking Permit was provided. The children loved the amenities: trampoline, pool table, foozeball, air hockey. Lots of space for all of us. As per previous reviews, the floors were dusty, freezer was dirty and a mess from broken ice trays being used which had leaked. There were dead flies and wasps in the tub. We were instructed to leave only one bag of garbage, which we did. The outside garbage bin had several bags in it that had not been picked up and stunk. Beautiful property, but I would recommend that the money being spent in the basement would be better used to improve the main floor and hire a better cleaning crew.

Great house, not so great host
The house actually looked better in person than the pictures do justice! The house was super spacious, big, with a lot of outside land and a very beautiful patio. The downsides: the booking, security deposit pressure, & greeting from the host. Booking this house was very annoying, I had booked it and the host told me that I needed to transfer her a security deposit separately from the online booking -I was extremely uncomfortable with such even though she reassured me that it was trustworthy so I called the company and they exclaimed to me that no host should be asking such and if I were to send it I would be liable if lost and the company would not assist with the deposit. I went back and forth with the host and the company to alter this and it was extremely frustrating. She was not the most pleasant in the beginning but after telling her I reached out to the company she completely changed. PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS OF YOUR SECURITY DPEOSIT KNOW THAT for your safety to always do it through the site of booking. In addition, the host also has reviews stating she is very stingy and likes to fine people to keep the deposit so I was not taking those risks. In the end, I re-booked the house and the security deposit was made via the site. Secondly, not only was it a hassle to book, the host specifies a huge list of rules for the house (which is fine) however sets fines for anything not left properly cleaned (floors must be washed), fines for having more than the allotted amount of people, fines for noise, etc. She is very particular so be careful with your stay. As an avid traveller, I understand the rules however once arriving at the house the floor was so dusty my socks turned black, and she lowered the AC the minute we arrived which is controlled and locked by the host. We were about 13 people dying of heat day and night FYI. I believe we left the house more sparkling clean than found due to the fear that was instilled by the host. Upon arrival at the house, the host came by with her son to drop 'paper towels' after telling us to bring our own- she did not come out of the car to greet simply sent her son out to give it to us which I felt was very rude and not hospitable. I did not have direct contact with the host due to this which was unpleasant. There is also a camera in front of the garage which is how she was alerted on our arrival keep that in mind. Host should takE take this review to further better herself as a host for future Guests.
