Was very nice given the storm that hit a week before.
Our need is a bit of a different layout........the kitchen layout with the open stays....we remedied with a chair laid over the entrance, We wish you the best with the repairs and thank you for not cancelling us.
Loved beach location and proximity to restaurants and Red Arrow highway. Wonderful linens and towels. Nicely furnished. Christopher helpful. Enjoyed the hot tub. Great beach chairs, umbrellas. Charming gazebo. Listed as 4 bedrooms but one "bedroom" is part of the basement. House is 90 years old and basement is clean but has the distinct smell of damp. We could not feel good about anyone sleeping down there. Owners need to address damp and refresh outdoor kitchen and bathroom in main bedroom. Need new stove as well in kitchen. Only 1 burner worked. Would stay again if we didn't need the 4th bedroom.
Beautiful, very clean home. Great view of lake from living area and deck. Manager very nice young man who meets you at the house upon arrival and is quick with any needed communication. Bedroom in the back of the house has absolutely no privacy as the door is completely see thru. It does sit down from the living area by about 4 steps. We put up a blanket over the stair rail to allow some privacy. The shower is a little tricky to get in and out of but great water pressure. Beds comfortable. Kids loved the hot tub. Beach is clean and swimmable with little ones. No stones as seen in some of the lake if you go further North. Very few pay attention to the private beach signs but it is very much a family oriented beach. You can walk quite some distance either way. Beach chairs provided and many beach chairs. It is truly a lovely home but maybe priced a little high for the size.
We had a great experience at this property. It’s directly on a private beach with a maybe 50 stairs down to the beach. The house is well stocked with some beach chairs, and canopy and all the kitchen items you need! Plenty of towels! Chris, the host, was very accessible and accommodating. Would definitely stay again.
We met part of our family here in mid September. The weather was wonderful for the first few days. The beach was fabulous as was the house. Chris is a great property manager. We had to move our vacation time by a few days twice because our grandson was sick. Chris worked this out with the owner and we so appreciated it. Chris met us at the property and filled us in on the things we needed to know including great restaurants in the area! We had a couple of questions during our stay and Chris was quick to get back with us. About 3 hours into our trip back home, we realized that we had left some clothes there. We reached out to Chris and he is in the process of sending them to us at home. He has definitely gone the extra mile for us and we very much appreciate his efforts on our behalf! This property is a win win!
Property has the most amazing views of Lake Michigan from large deck and a cabana and private beachfront. Our family had a wonderful time lounging on the beach, kayaking, paddle boarding, and numerous beach games. Hot tub in private nook alongside the house was a big hit as well. Very cute home with beautiful views and great living room/kitchen/dining area overlooking lake. Comfortable bedrooms, pretty Art Deco details throughout the home. Very responsive manager who gave us numerous helpful tips for the area. Short walk from the home to yummy bakery, small grocery place, gelato, and short drive to multiple restaurants. Highly recommend!
We couldn't have been happier. We already booked a follow up stay. Property manager, Chris, was excellent to deal with.Views were awesome and the location was ideal.
My husband and I stayed for 3 nights in September. The interior of the house and spacious deck are very nice. The weather was unfortunately not the best when we were there, but we still enjoyed our stay. The hot tub was a bonus in the cooler weather. There are some nice restaurants and breweries nearby which we took advantage of. The neighborhood is very nice and of course being right on Lake Michigan is great. The property has a nice sandy private beach. The only thing I would mention is that if you staying with a large group, the bedrooms all have doors with glass panels which don't provide the best privacy -so keep that in mind. It was just myself and my husband so it was not an issue. Overall great place, would stay again.
The home is nicely appointed and well equipped. The furnishings are very clean and well maintained. The main attraction is the deck and gazebo. The house deck has plenty of trees to give shade but an opening to let the lake and sunset views in. The gazebo affords you to sit closer to the lake, enjoy a glass of wine or coffee, read a book and nap - all of which we enjoyed. Christopher was easy to work with and always available. He knows the area well and has recommendations for anything you would need. Perfect vacation!
Wife and I and 3 teenagers (14, 17, 19) spent 4th of July week. House exudes character and had everything we needed. Sonos was great and used a lot on deck and hot tub area. Rented kayak and paddleboard from Outpost Sports. Chris took care of and was very helpful with local recommendations. Deck has firepit for marshmallow and smores. Impressed by lack of bugs as owner sprays for mosquitoes.
Location is perfect with fantastic views of Lake Michigan from deck, gazebo and beach. New Buffalo to south and St. Joseph to north are nice towns to walk and explore and satisfied my wife and daughters shopping needs. Recommend Timothy's for dinner - food and service outstanding. Would come back again.

Lovely Thanksgiving on the Lake
Our family of five (plus the dog) stayed at Casa De Lago over Thanksgiving. The house was wonderful. Plenty of space for all of us. And the location was fabulous. Even though it was chilly we sat on the deck to admire the view. Christopher was super to work with. Super responsive and helpful.
He even recommended a local place to get a fresh turkey! Highly recommend.

Birthday weekend
We stayed at the Casa de Lago for my wife's birthday weekend with seven other friends. The view and beach were wonderful and the house was well equipped for our group. There is a spacious deck with a built-in grill and a gazebo with an extra pull out sofa. The biking opportunities were good and there are many good restaurants and cafes nearby. The sunsets were gorgeous! We will definitely plan another stay if this house is available.

Casa de Lago - Perfect!
Casa de Lago was perfect for us! Two families with 5 kids total. More than enough room. Kids loved the basement as play area, set up the Wii down there. Bunk beds worked great too. Spent some good times in the hot tub too. Private beach was perfect, right next to public access but no issues at all once private sign was put up. Perfect weather. A lot of sand toys with the home, plenty of towels too. Chris, our concierge, was very attentive and helped us with anything we needed. We hope to come back next year!!

Perfect family vacation!
We had a perfect time at this lovely home for a week in July. The beach is gorgeous! The lake views from the deck, and the sunsets every night, are breathtaking. We had two families, for a total of 4 adults and 3 kids. The house was exactly the right size (you could fit another couple in the third "adult-size" bedroom, or put a kid or two in there, but personally I wouldn't do more than that). The house is very well-equipped with everything you need, and it exudes charm with its curved doors from the 1920s. The kitchen and baths are fully updated and attractive as well as quite functional. The hot tub is very clean (they came while we were there to check chlorine etc) and was fun at the end of the day. Owner has kindly allowed use of beach umbrellas and rafts, etc. Only suggestion I have is to bring beach towels. Otherwise, this vacation was probably the most perfect we have ever taken. Thanks to Chris, our outstanding concierge, for attending to every little detail! Among other things, he arranged for paddle board delivery, which I highly recommend (we had ages 5 to 54 in our group, and every single one of us used the paddleboards). Exceptional service and a magnificent location on a private beach make this rental well worth the cost, especially if shared between two families.

Wonderful Weekend Stay
We live in Chicago and did a weekend getaway with a group of friends for my birthday. The house is gorgeous!! The bedrooms were so comfortable and there were plenty of blankets, pillows, towels/beach towels in the closet. The private beach was lovely and there were even beach toys for our use. The sunset from the deck is unbelievable! We had a wonderful time grilling and eating on the deck while watching the sunset. The Jacuzzi is a nice size as well and can fit around 8 people. We hope to be back next summer!

Amazing Vacation!
We spent a week in this villa and everything that is mentioned and seen in the pictures and information is true! The views and sunsets are breathtaking.
It was the best of both worlds for a family with kids. Our kids can be running on the beach while we are relaxing. Sitting in the gazebo watching the waves, running down the beach with the kids, or quietly reading a book in the living room surrounded by windows with lake views.
There are many activities around the Union Pier area as well as local wineries, dunes, skiing, etc. The outdoor kitchen makes it easy to cook for the family. The hot tub provides a break from the busy day and beckons a glass of wine and view of the stars.
I would recommend this villa for couples or families, it will suit anyone whether it is the large extended families or couple seeking a quiet retreat!
We will definitely return!

Spectacular All Inclusive Summer Getaway
My family and I have stayed at Casa De Lago many times. I think it is the best getaway spot in Harbor Country. You might not have to leave the property the entire time you are there. With the Hot tub, outdoor kitchen, beach and beach house, you can easily fill your day. The owners have updated the entire house and managed to leave most every origional detail, and the true character in the house. The Arched doorways and windows are truly beautiful! My favorite time is opening a bottle of local wine, cooking a great dinner on the deck and waiting for the most beautiful sunset in the state of Michigan! I would reccomend this property to anyone! The only negative I have is it is a house for about 8 people, not large groups. It is not a property for a family reunion. The pictures say it all on this property! Happy Summer
