About this property

Luxury Barn Retreat — All-Season Escape Awaits!

An exceptionally private getaway on 8 beautiful acres near Chatham, NY, this historic barn has been meticulously renovated, including a full chef’s kitchen. It’s one of the area’s most stunning accommodations, ideally located between some of the most picturesque destinations— including the Berkshires, Great Barrington, Taconic State Park, Beebe State Forest, Ooms Conservation Area, Queechy Lake, Tanglewood, Hudson, Kinderhook, and so much more!

The barn sits on a peaceful dirt road that sees almost no traffic, offering complete tranquility and privacy while remaining close to many charming towns with all the essentials.

Downstairs: Enter through the mudroom, equipped with a washer/dryer, and step into the chef’s gourmet kitchen featuring top appliances, including a Wolf stove and Sub-Zero fridge. To the right, the inviting dining area with an extra-long table flows into a cozy living space with a fireplace, seating, and a large smart TV. This level also includes a private queen bedroom with an en suite bathroom and an additional full bath. Floor-to-ceiling thermally-broken sliding glass doors reveal a spacious stone patio overlooking the woods and a creek, ideal for outdoor dining with a charcoal grill, a long table, and a large fire pit for evening gatherings. The view spans a secluded forest and scenic mountain backdrop, providing a truly private retreat.

Upstairs: Discover an expansive 1,000 sq ft open living space featuring a luxurious ABC Home sectional surrounding a second fireplace, massive ABC chandelier, and a third full bathroom. The original posts and beams of this 150+ year-old barn have been meticulously restored, with the richly preserved ceiling and beautiful historic details intact. Weathered barn siding, aged over a century, has been thoughtfully repurposed to accent interior walls, adding to the space's character.

Enjoy movie nights with a large projector and screen (access to Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and more) paired with an amplifier and high-quality speakers for immersive sound.

Loft Retreat: Above, a charming private loft is accessible by a ship ladder, offering two twin beds in a cozy, secluded space suited for most ages.

Deck and Views: Through floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors, step out onto a spacious wooden deck with seating, perfect for unwinding with a glass of wine and soaking in the tranquil natural surroundings.

The barn is fully equipped with high-speed internet and a cell signal booster, ensuring connectivity throughout. Forced air and HVAC systems complement the fireplaces on each floor for both heating and A/C.

Why they chose this property

East Chatham and the tiny township of Red Rock is off the beaten track and enjoys peace and quiet as well as spectacular views and scenery all year round. This property has been in our family for 13 years.

What makes this property unique

The barn is incredibly historic but with all modern conveniences. It was a labor of love for our family around 8 years ago when we transformed it from a wonderful but dilapidated barn into the warm and cozy but also vast structure you see today.
