Great stay!

Rented this house for a weekend with friends and had a great time! The house has interesting architecture — high & angular ceilings, big windows — and the design allowed for cozy and intimate hangs. We thought the previous reviews were a bit harsh. Just know that it’s an older home and has a slightly dated decor, but it’s still totally functional and unique!

Sad

We were at SeaRanch, that was great. Positive things about the property were that the appliances worked. this house needs better care and updates. Perhaps the owners should stay there sometime. There is a defective outlet in the master bedroom. the mattress needs replacing, broken down in the center. The gas fireplace did ignite, but had minimal gas flow. There are floodlight bulbs in the kitchen lights, the kitchen faucet is wrapped with electrical tape. There is a television in the lower floor where a fireplace apparently was originally. would really be nice to have one on the main floor. Nice view but windows not clean. There are widespread stains from apparent past water damage and a stain on the tired shag carpet. Someone should care more about this property or greatly discount the rental price.

Sea Ranch Spring Break

Property is pretty much as advertised. Property mgmt. leaves much to be desired: * Had to call to get property access info * Property was out of Toilet Paper on arrival * Had to drive another 20 minutes to pick up keys (lock box??) * No bath soap Other than that the property was fine.

The house can use more

We love Sea Ranch and the house is beautiful. You can tell it's not that loved. The bathroom pocket door was broken, two sets of blinds were broken, the kitchen has the bare minimum, the upstairs rug is worn into the floor below and there was a rotted board on the outside deck.. The listing did list the dryer was not in use. However a beach house should have an operating dryer. The house was the perfect size for our party, the location was amazing and we had a wonderful time. Unfortunately because of many little issues we would not rent this house again. It wouldn't take much to fix it up.

Love Sea Ranch just not this place

Love Sea Ranch just not this place. House is much in need of updates. Location is good. Carpet is very stained, many blinds don’t work, etc. As noted in posting fire place doesn’t work (been some time now). Didn’t contact on sight manager because main concerns are not not quick fixes. Kitchen and supplies are lacking but not the main concern.

Great location

This property has a great view from the dining room table. Nice and roomy with plenty of space for everyone to feel comfortable. It was unfortunate that the fire place did not work. It is a very serviceable house but it needs some tlc. It's tired and worn. But it was clean and did the job of housing us.

Family get away

The property was advertised as having a well stocked functional kitchen. There were plenty of pots and pans but most were a mix match and in poor working condition. The nobs of the oven top were worn down so badly it was not visible to determine what temp you were cooking on. utensils were no longer workable. Can opener is broken and knifes are all dull. The 2 dish towels were bath hand towels, along with one very small bottle soap for the week. There were no cleaning products in the entire house, no broom or dust pan and we rented for the week. A light fixture in the kitchen was broke and the one that did work light bulb was burn out so used a bedroom lamp. The floors in the kitchen and dining room are in needed of a good scrub and the window coverings in the kitchen no longer work correctly. The frig froze most of the food, freezing eggs and destroying the vegetables. The house was advertised with a functional fire place and after a reading a review that it wasnt working, we called to get confirmation that it was working. This was a very high priority, we booked our reservation on... upon arrival we were told it didnt work. There was only one small loveseat in the main living room, the internet had shown a loveseat and recliner, the recliner was gone. The carpet through out the house was very rough and in the main living room it was thread bare you could see the carpet pad... something i had never seen before. The bedding through out the house was in bad shape, the sheets were not fitted and didnt stay on the bed, the sheets were also very thin and had holes in them. (took pictures). There were no bath mats in the bathrooms and in the bathroom in the bottom floor was slippery and slimmy and the shower curtain was moldy. The co2 detector didnt work but was still plugged in to look like it did (have pictures of that) There were no wash cloths, some of the towels were shredded.and full of holes. (have pictures)... When we made our reservation it had a working washer and dryer.. a must for weeks stay and having a toddler.... upon arrival they stated the dryer was no longer working... They did bring extra towels upon request, they two were in bad shap. The rug in the entrance is tripping hazard, the cording around the rug is hanging off the rug and is a tripping hazard. The patio is a dangerous with all the loose board and splintered wood. needs repair big time.

Lovely house but needs attention

The location of this house was perfect for us and the house itself is classic Sea Ranch - we really loved it. Unfortunately, there were some shortfalls in the way the house has been maintained that negatively impacted our stay. The fireplace doesn’t work, the upstairs toilet (in en-suite bathroom) runs (loudly) every few minutes, which impacted our sleep. The dryer is broken - it bangs loudly and doesn’t dry well. It really is a lovely and well positioned house, and I regret leaving a less than glowing review. However, since I haven’t received any assurance these issues will be addressed, I think it only right that I let potential visitors know so they can ask the status prior to booking.

Peaceful holiday

The views were beautiful and we loved walking along the coastal trail. Property managers were very responsive when the toilet was broken, sending someone out on Christmas. It was disappointing that the fireplace wasn’t working.

Big House!

Great hidden away house with lots of spaces to hang out. Nice ocean view from upstairs, but no ocean views from deck since all the trees are grown up around it. The pool and tennis courts are only 5 minutes away down a nice trail with great ocean views!! The beach is pretty far compared to other houses we have stayed at taking about 20 minutes one way. The house has a nicely stocked kitchen and the hot tub is sooo relaxing!

Not happy with accomadation

I booked this property for my family vacation. Location is ok, its not close to sea and swimming pool and tennis court is also little far. If you go from highway 1 you need to go extra 10 miles to pickup and drop off the key. There were lots of spider webs and small bugs all around in home. There was a lizard in kids bedroom and luckily we were able to take her out from home. They have open ladder for a toy room or open den, there is no support on that, which is very risky for young kids. After all these I tried to call customer service and email them and its been more than 2 weeks didn't hear back from them.

Great place for family

Favorite Sea Ranch place we’ve stayed at. Love that you can walk to the Moonraker rec center. If you have young kids may want a single story unit but my kids are older so enjoyed the multi level.

Nice beach house, but pictures were misleading

Pictures made it look like beach house was much closer then it was, bedding wasn’t very clean, extra blankets were thrown in closet and didn’t seem to be washed or cared for, there were multiple spider webs through out the house. Over all, it was a good stay but wasn’t as clean as you would hope since there is a substantial cleaning fee attached to rental. Close enough to enjoy the lovely beaches every day and close enough to the golf course for my husband to enjoy every morning.

Great home away from home

The moment we (2 adults, 3 children) walked in the home, we were pleased with how well it was designed, and how cozy it felt, even though this is a big house. There are many rooms to sit and read and enjoy the view. The bedrooms had comfortable mattresses and plenty of pillows and comforters. The family and living rooms were packed with seating areas and plenty of pillows to lay back and either enjoy the fireplace, or the plasma TV. The kitchen was well stocked. There were plenty of plates, bowls, and utensils. The bathrooms were clean, and the owners provided plenty of towels to go around! We enjoyed every moment of our stay. We had a great time on the backyard deck, BBQing and soaking in the jacuzzi. We had such a great time in the house, that we did not go anywhere else. We've asked the property manager to provide newer pots and pans for the next guests so that they could enjoy cooking in the kitchen as well, and they said that they would take care of it. Overall, we would stay here again. The only drawback is not with the house, but with the drive to get there. Coming from SF, it was quite a drive along the winding road.

Great location, big rental house

The location of this Sea Ranch house was ideal, and it was very spacious. The house is a bit shabby, and feels a bit neglected. There was broken glass in the hot tub (which cut a foot), stains in the carpet, smelly bed coverings, and outdated rental appliances and equipment. For the price, particularly the rental agency fees, I would expect better care and attentiveness to the place, and the overall rental experience.

This was a great place to stay, close to the beach with good walking trails and very quiet.

We did not use the recreation center as we spent so much time on the beach. It would be nice if the frying pans were updated otherwise the kitchen was great. It would also be nice to have access to a washer/dryer but did okay without as the weather was sunny so towels could dry outside. The view is fantastic
