Came up for a nice quiet retreat but the neighbors had other plans. I don't know if they are renters or owners but the constant loud music was a real let down.
The cabin is very nice and the views are fabulous. Sam, the owner is very responsive and great to work with. The kitchen is well stocked and the bed upstairs was comfortable. I think the sofa and chair in the living room upstairs should be replaced. The sofa sinks very deep making it a challenge to get out of and the recliner will not stay reclined.
Sorry to say we will probably not be back only due to the noisy neighbors.

Beautiful Mountain View
Loved the secluded cabin. So quiet and peaceful. Close to many state parks and other attractions. Keys were waiting as promised and check-in and -out was smooth.
Only complaint would be the cleanliness. The master bedroom was very dusty with cobwebs and dead insects on the wall above the bed. Bathrooms and floors were wiped down. Baseboard with thick beading of dust. Perhaps a deep cleaning needed.
Appliances were beginning to show wear and paint was peeling from fridge. An “okay” stay.
Location was very secluded and beautiful. Cabin was nice enough. There was a very strong stale cigarette/wet dog smell when you walked in. Would have been great to have a towel rack in master bath no where to hang your towels.
Good take off point to enjoy Berkeley Springs, Paw Paw tunnel, Great Cacapon SP, and more. Property was as advertised. Our van was just fine, but this is not a place for cars with low clearance, there are a couple of steep gravel drives
Beautiful views from the porch and very secluded! We came to get away from all of the firework noise and we couldn't hear anything from inside! The cabin was very clean and we had a great time! My only gripe is that the bunk beds were extremely uncomfortable.
In all my years of visiting different mountain locations/states, this was absolutely the best view ever! Coffee on the deck in the mornings, cocktails in the evening, just breathtaking. Very peaceful. The cabin was great & very comfortable. Highly recommend .

It exceeded all our expectations! The cabin is nestled in a picturesque forest, offering stunning views and the peaceful serenity of nature. The interior was comfortable, blending rustic charm with modern amenities, ensuring a comfortable stay.
The kitchen was fully equipped, making meal preparation a breeze. We enjoyed our evenings by the cozy fireplace, and the deck was perfect for morning coffees and watching the sunrise.
The cabin was impeccably clean, and the owner Sam was incredibly helpful, providing detailed information about the area and things to do. It was the perfect spot for a family getaway.
We left feeling rejuvenated and are already planning our next visit. Highly recommend for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life!
This is our second stat not only for the seclusion, but for the views our every window and the comfort of being there! I had the opportunity to speak to the owner and what a gracious, kind man he is! Highly recommended!
Clean, comfortable, well maintained property. It made for a great stress-free couple of days away with my kids playing board games, watching movies, grilling, and just relaxing. Internet speed is excellent and made streaming movies easy.
Perfect for weekend getaways from the Wash DC Balto area Close to town of Berkeley Springs but very secluded.
Spacious over three floors Modern amenities in rustic setting.
In order:
-Property is amazing-sunrise views spectacular!
-House is very comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing week
-We loved the town of Berkeley Springs-coffee/art/restaurants/large grocery store/friendly people
-C&O Canal trail lovely for biking and hiking
-Lots to see and do in the area; house very comfortable to relax in on rainy days!
The property was nice and secluded. Didn't see or hear a sign of city life! Enjoyed sitting on the deck and looking at the mountains. Seen some baby deer and a small box turtle in the yard.
Outstanding place to stay. Family memorial in the area. Made a great base camp. Elderly members in our group appreciated the first floor and the view. Thanks for letting us share your little slice of West Virginia heaven.
We had a great time at this cabin! The views of Cacapon were amazing. It's a great hub to explore Hancock and the western Maryland Rail Trail, Berkeley Springs, and Paw Paw. Be careful of random animals (geese, goats, puppies) in the road on the drive in.
Great spot, a bit of the beaten path (that's just what we wanted). Generous windows so we could see the mountains from most rooms (kitchen, living room, upstairs bedroom). Appreciated the master suite (bed, bath rm, chair, tv) for a quiet evening after the kids were in bed downstairs. Found a variety of fun easy/short hikes nearby. Lots of info on local options (spas, hikes, shops, dining) and local history at the cabin. Great experience!
You'll need your SUV to drive the dirt roads leading to this remote and private cabin situated at the top of a wooded knoll. We enjoyed the quiet seclusion. The house is clean and comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped, and there is a wonderful mountain view from the back deck. The host answered all our questions promptly.
Very secluded area and very private. Not far from town and entertainment. Didn't get to experience the views with rain and fog throughout the weekend but a very relaxing experience
We enjoyed this beautiful cabin in it's private setting. Very peaceful and relaxing vacation. Didn't want to come home. Would definitely stay here again.

About the host

I am now 70 years old but not retired. I love walking outdoors and in recent years I have hiked in the Anapurna region in Nepal, been to Machu Pichu in Peru and most recently traveled the Colorado River for 21 days by rubber raft through the Grand Canyon. I own a small business in Baltimore and love visiting A Little Place in WV.
Why they chose this property
Several years ago my wife and I accidentally passed through Berkeley Springs. We had lunch at Tari's, looked around and decided to come back. We made several weekend trips staying in cabins in the area. We got lucky and found our cabin one very dreary but enchanting day in November. It was well built and had a wonderful view. But it was a mess. Nothing that a little bit of destruction and then construction couldn't take care of. I love a project. I hope you will enjoy the serenity and beauty of A Little Place in WV.
What makes this property unique
When I step into the cabin at the beginning of a visit I feel a lightness, a release from all that goes on in a busy life. There is a peace that has room for intimate conversations with friends or just space to sit and wander in your thoughts. The cabin is not a busy place. It is an un-busy place to greet the sunrise, to nap on the deck in the afternoon, to watch the shadow of sunset march up the mountain, and to marvel at the stars. I hope you find some of this loveliness when you visit.
