Lovely Lakehouse

We had a wonderful time at this lake house this past week. The location is ideal as it is on a small little cove of the lake, which made it perfect for the kids to jump off the dock and into the water. The lake was very clean and we had no algae issues which we really appreciated! The house was very clean when we arrived. The house is also very close to the water so you could sit on the beautiful screened-in porch and enjoy the view without the bugs! We would definitely recommend this rental to family and friends!

Family Good Times

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our week at Best of Both Worlds. We found the home very clean, well-stocked and inviting. The kids (ages 6 to 11} had room to play and were in the water constantly. The floating mat provided much good fun and the paddle boat and kayaks were a bonus. The location of the home and dock was really nice and the kids could play in the water without other boat traffic. We rented a pontoon boat for 3 days and enjoyed that very much because there were very few boats out on the water the week we were there. Lake Gaston is beautiful and there are many gorgeous homes. We brought a float to tow and it was great because we didn't have to avoid other boats and jet skis. The kids had great fun jumping off the dock. Overall, our family all agreed they would come back. The experience was one of many wonderful memories for us all.

Wonderful Accomodation

This house is truly amazing. It is clear the owner values providing a great experience. It was clean, well stocked, and the linen package made the entire stay easy. The house is located on a point where you can see the main lake with the dock tucked away to the side. The dock's location is protected from the wake of boats on the main part of the lake, making it an excellent place for swimming. The Aquamat was a great surprise that was not on the listing. We enjoyed hours of play and rest. We would return again to this property.

Great Thanksgiving gathering

This property accommodated our families quite comfortably and provided ample opportunities to chill, interact with provided games/firepit, and cook a big Thanksgiving meal. The kitchen layout made it easy for several of us to be in the space at the same time, and there were plenty of plates, glasses, flatware, cooking utensils and pots/pans to suffice. We did have to provide most of the casserole/serving dishes (had to go back to dollar store for aluminum pans for this), but since the store wasn't too far away it worked out just fine. The 3 keurig coffepots were great - but a 10 cup pot would have been nice and cut down on those used single cups going to a local landfill. With large gatherings possible here, a second full-size refrigerator would have been helpful. and strong wifi that supports multiple devices would be helpful to future guests as well. (Apparently that's a necessary thing, even when we weren't watching TV/football, etc.). The furniture in all shared spaces was very comfortable - but the beds and pillows were sources of frequent complaints every morning. Water pressure for showers and in the kitchen was awesome! Future guests might want to bring additional towels - the ones provided were limited to one bath, hand and washcloth per bed - which made it difficult to have a towel for drying hair after a shower :( Inside temps during the day were very comfortable (we were fortunate to have 60* and sunny days most of our visit) but heat for all bedrooms was minimal- at best- every night we were there (outside temps high 30s-low 40s). Overall we were happy with this property- it was very clean and just as described in the listing - and would consider another visit during warmer months and perhaps rent a boat to enjoy the lake.

Wonderful weekend on the lake!

Clean, comfortable, spacious, relaxing, beautiful views. Many options for both active fun - kayaks, paddle boat, canoe, ping-pong - and just hanging out on the back deck, screened porch, dock, fire pit, and deck overlooking the water. It was a wonderful weekend celebrating a family birthday - thank you so much!

Great home in a great location!

This property was great! The location off the main water means you can easily swim and kayak in a protected area. We also brought stand up paddle boards and they were perfect for this spot. The house was well cared for, clean, and they even had fresh flowers out for our visit. The ping pong table was great (we had a family tournament) as was the dart board. We used the grill and there was even an extra tank of propane on site waiting in case we ran out (we didn’t). Be aware, our AT&T cell phones had no cell service at this location and even around the area cell service was often nonexistent. That said, the WiFi in the house was strong and you can log into your accounts on the TV and stream your services. Go to Grubb’s Place at the Holly Grove Marina for ice cream when you have the chance. I would highly recommend this house and I hope to return again.

Lovely home on the lake!

We enjoyed our family get together at the lake! The home accommodated our family easily with lots of room to spread out. The extra table upstairs was perfect for game nights and the screen room with a fan was comfy even in the hot weather and no one got any mosquito bites! The view of the water was so pretty and we spent a lot of time down on the dock under the shade, talking, laughing and swimming in the water. Everyone is still talking about our visit and sharing photos in our group family chat!

Relaxing and delightful

This home was one of the best we have ever rented. All was as indicated in the listing, and everything worked as intended (no burnt out light bulbs or non-functional appliances). The home is nicely furnished and ready for a relaxing weekend for a nice group. The area is beautiful, but devoid of restaurants and other entertainments, so be ready to be together and enjoy that fabulous lake. We are already talking about our next visit! One note: Be sure to bring all your soaps (shampoo, body soap, dishwasher soap, laundry soap) as supplies were limited.

Truly the best!

The location of the property on the lake and in proximity to restaurants and stores was perfect. It is a beautiful property with the best views! We absolutely loved our time here and will definitely return.
