Double Booked Nightmare/ Now haven new Friends
We paid extra for early check in. Once we checked in and unloaded our things My husband and I went to the store to get groceries, while our two teenage girls stayed to go to the pool and the beach. Before I got back from the store, I received a call from my daughter that another family was in the room and said we were double booked. The family was very kind, but the host was absolutely NO HELP. I was told to just cancel so they could refund my money. When I refused, they offered to also refund the extra I paid for early check in which they reminded me I did indeed use, when I continued to refuse, they assured me that they would not hold me accountable to the cancelation policy that I would be breaking by canceling before our checkout date. I was speechless to say the least. When I asked where I was supposed to go and how I was supposed to find accommodations during spring break with zero notice I was told there was nothing they could do, and I just needed to cancel so they could move forward with the refund process and get the other family checked in. I was told it was a glitch in the system, and they had no fault in it so therefore they could do nothing to help. When I called VRBO for help I spend three hours on the phone with two different customer service reps. They never gave up and made several calls to find me accommodation that filled my top three must haves for the vacation I originally planned. While I will reuse VRBO, I would SREER CLEAR of this HOST.
