About this property

Northern Lake George lakefront

Classic knotty pine cottage and guest quarters privately situated on 3 wooded acres on the banks of the north basin of Lake George. The compound accommodates 8-10 and is ideal for a two family share. The main cottage sleeps 4-6 in three bedrooms (one queen, one full, and a bunk room). It features a full service kitchen with dishwasher and microwave, a wood burning field-stone fireplace, a full bathroom, flat screen TV, and wifi. The adjoining renovated barn building has a master suite that sleeps 2 with a private bath and twin loft, flat screen tv.. The hayloft is now a dormitory style room with 3 twins that is stocked with games. There is a powder room at the base of the stairs. A washing machine, dryer, and additional fridge are available for use in the work shop. Next to the barn is a large campfire pit for roasting s'mores, grills for barbecues (gas, charcoal, smoker), a treehouse and picnic table.
The 600 feet of lakefront is across the street. There are stairs down to a deck that boasts 2 docks with a slip that will accommodate up to a 24' boat. The deck has a 5 stool bar, gas grille, serving table and ample additional seating.
The lovely Hague town beach is .25 miles (easy 5 minute walk) south on Lakeshore Drive. This family friendly beach and park has a sandy beach with access to shallow roped and guarded swimming for even the youngest members of your family. For your convenience there are picnic tables, an extensive playground and restrooms. The general store is a minute walk into town from the beach and sells drinks, sandwiches and ice-creams!
There is so much to this family friendly old gem.

Perfect Lake George Cottage
I have been booking a home in LG for 8+ years and its always tricky to find a place that checks all the boxes. This years we found a gem in the northern part of the lake! Dock has plenty of space for 26ft tritoon we rented from Snug. Beautiful sandy bottom right in front. Grill with plenty of seating to relax and soak up the sun and views! House was perfect for family with teens. There is a separate room above the shop for the kids to make as much noise as they'd like with its own 1/2 bathroom. There is a separate bedroom and bathroom attached to the shop that is perfect for a couple to enjoy some quiet. The main house has 3 more bedrooms with a full bathroom. The home has plenty of cooking areas inside and out with all the necessities. Yard has great space to relax, eat and soak up the mountain and lake view. Only down side to the home is the walk to the lake which is very minor. Highly recommend staying and would love to come back next year.

OVERLAKE
The property had adequate room for up to 12 people. A separate guest house provided a quiet area suited for older folks such as myself. Flowering pots and perennials added to the charm. Great views of Lake Gorge. Generous kitchen facilities. Two docks with safe moorings.

Overlake - Our Family Loved it
Property is located in a beautiful part of northern Lake George. Ticonderoga is near, so quick trips for a pizza pick-up, ice cream or WalMart shopping are little bother. The owners met us for check-in, and gave us a very informative tour. The pride they take in the property was obvious. We spent much time on the well-maintained deck and docks at the edge of the lake. As a bonus, we got a surprise text from the owner telling us of a fireworks display on Hague beach. They were 100% visible from the docks, and we enjoyed being able to cook on the deck, swim in the lake, and cap it off with an excellent show. All amenities were as described in the listing, and we had no problems with any of them. Steps to the lake may be difficult for those with mobility issues, but it's obvious they are working to improve them. We did wish there was lighting immediately over the dining table, not for meals, but for games and crafts. We had no problems seating 10 for meals. All in all, Lee and Marijke provided us an opportunity for a great weekend in a good location, and we would not hesitate to book the property again. Oh, almost forgot... there is a 'secret' rustic swing for the adventurous. Our grandkids (and even Grand-pa) enjoyed it greatly!!

House with a great view
House was very clean. Owner easy to work with. Teens loved having their own space. Lots of steps to water. We loved cooking on the new grill. House could use additional lighting.

The quintessential Lake George experience
Firstly, Lee and Marijke are great hosts. You can tell they love the house and property. They met us at the house and showed us around the property and pointed out any quirks to the cabin to make our stay easier. Lee is super responsive to any questions or issues. The house is the perfect Lake George Camp. Three bedrooms, single bathroom, good living space. The kitchen is nicely stocked with quality pots/pans/knives/everything you need. But the bonus is really the barn. There is another master bedroom with its own bathroom and then a good loft with several twins with its own half bath. The layout works great if you are coming with adult siblings/spouses and kids. Everyone has some privacy to retreat to. We really loved the front porch. The lakefront and dock are all great. Sandy bottom. Dock space for your boat. We really liked the privacy of both the lakefront and property. The single negative is the steps from lake to house. Its a good 4 flights of stairs. Two and half from the lake to the road and one and half from the road to the house. The pictures show it. If you do google road view, you can see the concrete stairs from the road to the house. We just made sure to gather everything we needed and minimized the number of times we went back and forth. No A/C, but lots of fans in the house (thanks for that!). We loved it and will be back next year. Thanks Lee and Marijke.

Wonderful Cottage on the North end of Lake George
Overtake is a beautiful cottage, with a barn right behind the cottage. This is an ideal set up for large families. Upon checkin theplace was spotless. When our lils needed a break, they could go to their own separate place. There were plenty of dishes. Glasses, pots and pansand table to accommodate our large family. The waterfront dock is large and fabulous with a grill. We grilled lunch everyday and ate at the bar. Lee and his wife greeted us like we were old Friends. The one con was the cement steps leading down to the dock. This 62 year old gramma and the ones with little ones had a difficult tiime navigating the steep steps. We had a great week. Thank you to the owners for opening up your families home to us. THANKS. BETH

Hague Cabin
We had a wonderful two week vacation. The home is extremely clean and well stocked with dishes, cookware, and utensils. The covered front porch overlooking the lake is a perfect place to hang out during a rain storm. The dock area has plenty of room and the water toys (kayaks and paddle board) were a plus. Lee and Marijke are perfect hosts, very responsive!

A classic Adirondacks lake house
We just returned from a week at Overlake and it was one of the most memorable and special family vacations we have had. A main reason for that was the setting - Lee's (the owner) charming home. It's perfect. First, you get two homes in one here. The classic main cottage - clean, fast internet, plenty of room and a fantastic porch. Then you also get the barn/hayloft cottage as well. The hayloft is stocked with games and perfect for children. It also stays surprisingly cool. It's attached to the barn and a nice queen sized bedroom with a modern bathroom and tub. A perfect set up for two families. The lake is fantastic. Crystal clear water. Boats coming and going (you are close to a marina). There is a ladder you can maneuver down and a platform to stand on. Between both of the docks is about 3 and a half feet deep so you can stand and hold smaller children. It's almost all sandy around so you don't need to worry about rocks underwater or anything. The view is fantastic. The porch is great. Seeing all the boats out on the lake and sitting back in the Adirondack chairs with a cold drink. Something else you often don't see up on Lake George, especially lakefront, is all the green space this house has. There is a flat, manicured space right in front of the home you can play on that looks out onto the lake. There is also one in the back. There are so many positives to this home but saving the best for last is the owner. Lee and his wife are so down to earth and truly made us feel welcomed. You get the feeling if something were to go wrong they would make sure you could still have a great time and deal with anything else later. This is their family home and they treat it with the respect it deserves. It shows. Thank you Lee and your wife for a great week!

Great place!
This house has been well cared for and a lot put into it. It has a beautiful view of Lake George, a dock with kayaks and a paddle board, a grill and a bar to hang out and have dinner down there. Lee and his wife have put so much effort into making this a warm and welcoming place. We highly recommend it!

Loved it….
Overlake is one of the many treasures that makes the Adirondack’s such a special place. The property has so much to offer, from the ADK charm, to a perfect view the Queen of the American lakes. There were even a couple surprises - kids loved the rope swing….. Lee greeted us upon arrival and gave us a thorough tour. Thank you so much for sharing such a special place with us and capping off our summer with a great week!

A Week at the Lake
Had a great time, even when it rained. Broke out one of the supplied puzzles when it rained & took advantage of the kayaks & stand up paddle board when the weather was nice. Lake is beautiful at the north end with several state owned islands within kayak distance. Water is incredibly clean & clear., & not too cold!

A true Adirondack gem!
We can’t say enough nice things about our week at Overlake. From chatting with Lee & Marijke as they gave us a tour of their whole place to enjoying all the amenities, this property has everything you could need or want. We had two families with older kids and plenty of space to spread out. We loved mornings on the porch looking at the lake, cooking in the well appointed kitchen, using all the water toys, playing games at the bar, fire pit and s’mores at night and exploring all the wonderful little treasures Overlake offers. This property is well maintained, cared for, clean and comfortable. It truly is like spending a week at a friend’s home and northern Lake George is just gorgeous. We loved everything about it! Thank you to Lee & Marijke for hosting us.

Fun Family Getaway
We just got back from staying at Overlake in Hague in North Lake George. The owners Lee and Marijke could not have been more helpful and accommodating. They were there to greet us and give us a tour of their beautiful home. Lee gave us his cell and said we could call or text with any questions during the week. Lee reached out to check on us early on and gave us some restaurant ideas. He even went out of his way to contact a boating company to inquire about renting a boat for the day. The kitchen was fully stocked. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of blankets and pillows. So many water toys...kayaks, stand up paddle board which my teenage children absolutely loved and a fun blow up chair to swim to from the dock and then relax on for hours. It fit 4 grown adults comfortably. Let's not forget the tree swing!! We made sure we went on it every day. So fun! Lee and Marijke...thank you for sharing your beautiful lake house this past week. We made some great family memories!

Wonderful picturesque camp!!!
First time staying in Hague. It’s conveniently located within the small towns of Lake George. The house was amazing both inside and out. Very well maintained and beautifully decorated! The owners were very welcoming and greeted us on arrival which was very helpful! The house has gorgeous views overlooking Lake George. Definitely a gem nestled up above the road with plenty of space to roam and relax. Hope to get back there soon!

Perfect Vacation Spot
We loved this home. Clean and very comfortable with plenty of room for our large group of adults. We love Hauge and this house was the perfect find. The two houses gave plenty of room to spread out. It felt like visiting a friend's lake house. We spent the mornings drinking coffee on the dock before paddling around the local islands with the kayaks that are provided with the house. We fished and swam off the dock, there is a sandy bottom in the area around the docks. We rented a boat for the week from Dockside Marina, (they are just a few steps from the house) which provided us with a nice deck boat plus water-skis and tube. We bbq'd in the evenings and enjoyed a few bonfire nights. On the one rainy day we sat in the living room playing board games. There is ample room for 8 people without feeling crowded. The homeowners are great! Very friendly and met us when we arrived. Kept in touch to when we had a wicked storm one night to let us know where to find candles and flashlights in case of loss of power. Very sad to leave and we look forward to returning.

Hidden Treasure
This was our 2nd stay at this property and it was just as magical as it was the first time. We have stayed at numerous properties in Hague and Overlake is by far our favorite. The main cottage is so cozy and makes you feel right at home. Having the guest house and barn is such a plus for the adult children. Communication with Lee (the owner), was top notch. He was only a phone call away for any questions we had and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. Perfect vacation for families of all ages. There are a lot of stairs down to the water which may be difficult for some but certainly did not keep our group from enjoying the dock space. Best dock on the lake and all the toys are such a bonus. We spent hours and hours on the water and on the dock. Thanks for the amazing week and welcoming us to your home. Kristin

Home away from home
The owners were wonderful to deal with and they really opened their home to us – we felt like we borrowed a friend’s house for the week and not a rented property. From the extremely well-appointed kitchen to the flower boxes in every window, this was our home. And the property itself was just perfect – we spent the week sipping drinks on the front porch; utilizing the dock with its bar, Adirondack chairs, and water toys; grilling and eating our meals outside and lighting the fire pit at night. We also loved the location; staying this far north on the lake afforded us privacy and very little activity near us on the water. It was delightful. We spent a week at this wonderful property with extended family and both the house and barn were perfectly set up for everyone - 4 kids, 4 adults and 1 senior. We stayed in the barn, which has two separate bedrooms - a loft (for the kids) and a master for us... and each has a bathroom. The best thing about the barn is that sleeping quarters were separated enough so that my husband’s snoring wasn’t heard by our kids 🙂. The main house was exactly as described - 3 bedrooms, living room/dining room, stocked kitchen, bathroom, and a comfy porch. The way to think of the main house is…. if you took all personal items out of your house like clothes, family pictures, etc, and left everything else, you’ve got everything you need for a comfortable family vacation. One thing to note for those with mobility issues - it may be difficult to go up and down the steep steps from the house to the street and from the street to the dock. Not an issue for us though, including my 72 year old mother.

Charming Lake Front Property
Beautiful country style home. Fit all needs for all age groups. The children loved playing in the Tree house. We rented a boat for the week and the dock set up was amazing for entertaining. Lee was very accommodating and made us feel at home. Beautiful view of the lake for our morning coffee. Overall experience exceeded all our expectations. Being in the Northern part of the lake aloud us to be able to experience the crystal clear waters and true beauty of lake George. Would highly recommend this property and will definitely put this on our christmas list for next year.

Great multi-generational cottage
Our family has young adults up to a 90 year old and there was space for each generation. While the younger members were paddle boarding or kayaking, grandma was able to watch comfortably from the porch. This was the first time we put the younger folks in charge of dinner. There was a fire pit for hot dog night and plenty of pots, pans and dishes for the twenty something year old who is a gourmet cook. Thanks for a great week.

A lovely home in every way
My family just had a wonderful stay at this property, and we recommend it highly! Lee is a gracious, concerned host who checked in with us during the week. The house is set up so well: The kitchen is stocked with everything you need; there are plenty of outside chairs (including around the fire pit, which the "kids"--ages 22-30--loved); the beds are comfortable, with extra pillows and blankets. The grounds are so well kept, with beautiful flower beds (even pots of flowers on the dock by the water!). The dock by the water is great, with Adirondack chairs and a long counter with stools, plus a grill and kayaks and a stand-up paddleboard (and lots of life vests). We loved that when you jumped off the dock, the water wasn't over our heads, and it was sandy underfoot....we spent a lot of time swimming there. You have to be extra careful crossing the road there, but since our kids are grown we were comfortable with that. All in all, this was a great place to spend our vacation, and we can't wait to come back next year.
