Located near rafting and canoeing on the Delaware, hiking trails, skiing, zip lining, horseback riding, wineries, and antiquing in adorable nearby towns. Floor-to-ceiling windows and a huge elevated deck serve charming tree house vibes -- not to mention a star-gazing roof deck to boot! High-speed internet provides access to streaming entertainment on a 65-inch smart TV and indoor/outdoor Sonos system. Work your culinary magic in a fully-equipped modern kitchen featuring high-end appliances, or slap a few burgers on the outdoor gas grill. Serenade your guests on the baby grand piano, then cozy up for a movie by the wood-burning fireplace or toast s'mores around the outdoor fire pit. And if you've overdone it, burn off those extra calories on the Peloton. :)

Cozy Place in the Woods

Marcus was a great host! Clear and very helpful. The pictures did not do it justice on how lovely the place is. It felt lived in but we also didn’t feel like we were intruding. The calming wood fire smell greeting us when we came in set the mood for the rest of weekend. To be frank though we didn’t feel comfortable grilling cause some of the fire guards in the grill had some rusty holes. The silver lining though was we were able to use the fire pit out back to cook some bratwurst (Highly recommend). The next day we went to town and only hung out for a bit till the cold weather motivated us to hunker back in the cabin. No one slept upstairs but I would recommend that when you cook anything in the kitchen to open the windows up there to avoid your bed smelling like the food you cooked. We WILL be coming back! Love the place and the time we had! Thank you Marcus! We also appreciate the board games provided and had lots of fun playing and relaxing!

Beautiful secluded home

This house was perfect for our weekend away from stress. Felt like we were wrapped in the forest in this secluded property. Everything we needed was there. I highly recommend for anyone wanting to get away from it all.

Cozy stay surrounded by trees

We had an absolutely lovely stay. The place was clean and smelled amazing. The loft with the king size bed has many windows and a beautiful view of the trees surrounding the cabin. The kids loved the bedroom with the small loft and took turns sleeping up there. The kitchen which was small, but well-stocked and a sufficient size to prepare our meals. There were plenty of board games for any boredom and lots of blankets for extra warmth. We really enjoyed having a fire in the evenings. We had a winter storm come through and lost power, but since they have a whole house generator, it wasn’t a problem. The area had some great places to visit - we enjoyed driving around a seeing some of the small towns, visiting a waterfall, and going out to eat. The communication with the owner was some of the best I’ve ever experienced. He was very quick to respond and quite helpful when we had an issue. Overall, one of my favorite places we’ve stayed!

Relaxing with stunning views

I am not sure how to put into words how beautiful this house and property are. The house itself was immaculate, so well maintained and set up for maximum relaxation and enjoyment. There were multiple levels, with privacy and places to sit and rest. There were 3 large beds (I think Queen size) for easily 6 people to stay. In addition there was a loft area with two pull out beds that I think are best for younger kids to stay. You could go up on the roof and see a 360 degree view of the area which was stunning. Everything was covered in snow and it was quiet and comforting. We waked along the road with our baby dog and she had the best time running and playing with all the sticks. Each night we had a roaring fire in the fireplace and watched our favorite streaming shows. The kitchen had every utensil you could ever need and a beautiful large gas stove, dishwasher and refrigerator. The market was a short ride away and had anything you could ever need. Tips: You have to have a four wheel drive at this time of year. It was super icy and I am not sure we could have gotten to the house without it- but it was exceptionally icy and below 15 degrees this weekend.Bring enough firewood to last your stay so you don't have to go get more. If you are going with 3 couples, be aware one of the bedrooms is open in a loft to the living room. It is by far the most beautiful place to sleep but not if someone is partying below.Marcus was a dream to work with and made everything super clear.

Perfect Christmas

Just imagine all of your white Christmas dreams coming through. This cabin was beautiful along with the landscape around. If anyone needs a beautiful place to stay in great surroundings, you can't beat this place. So much for a fantastic vacation.

Holiday at the Treehouse

Our DC and Boston families met up at this beautiful house for Thanksgiving. The property is modern and pristine, and appointed with everything we could possible need. The design of the house offers forest views from every room. Great location, wonderful communications from the host, incredible decor. We hope to return in the summer! surrounding us with forest and magical snow showers.

Beautiful Clean Property and Great Hosts!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It is private and quiet, surrounded by trees. The house was clean and comfortable. Emily and Stephen were always responsive to our questions and very friendly! My only two "items of caution" would be 1) you will not have great cell phone service, BUT the wifi is good so there are ways around that, and 2) if you have all adults in your party and more than 3 couples, some will be more or less sharing sleeping spaces. Also, 2 of the beds are in a loft that requires a climb up a ladder to get to. This was not an issue for us as we were traveling with our adult children (mid 20's) and they were fine with the accommodations. That said, this was overall a very positive experience for us and we would recommend this property!!

Best place I have rented in years!

This is the best place I have rented in the last 15 years. Its clean, has every amenity you need in the woods. The home and surrounding landscape is beautiful. You really cant ask for more. Thanks Emily and Stephen for an amazing experience!

Wonderful house in the woods

The house had everything you could need and was pet friendly. It was spacious with lots of windows. Our host was easy to connect with and responsive. I’m sure it would we a great location in warmer weather.

Pleasant getaway

We had a wonderful time here over the weekend. It's quiet, secluded and the hosts are amazing. We had everything that we needed for the peaceful weekend. The house is big and has enough space for 6-8 people. The property is well maintained, clean and a fire pit outside that will keep your group entertained. We will definitely visit again.

Quiet and lovely spot in Barryville.

This was a perfect family getaway for a short stay near the Delaware river. Keyless check in was easy and communication with our host, Emily was prompt and helpful. The house is roomy and and well appointed, with comfortable beds and plenty of linens and towels. We appreciated the option of bringing our dog with us and the convenience of having some firewood and spices and cooking oil already there.

Nice house

The host was proactive in communicating with us. When we had questions, the were answered quickly. The house was clean and modern. Some severe thunderstorms knocked out the local utility power for a time, but we were not affected thanks to the whole house generator. The house is located about 1/4 mile up a steep rocky road. We had 4 adults and 2 children in our group. Overall, we had a nice stay.

This property is gorgeous, everything about it. The drive there was beautiful, along the Delaware River. The house was very clean, had step by step directions. Our kids loved it too!!! Would definitely recommend it!!! Thank you Emily and Stephen!!!!

Great Respite

As advertised. Summer nights with the windows open, crisp cold water from the well, great space to cook family meals, hang on the deck, and play in the yard. Good eats around, farmer’s market on Saturday was a treat, great respite from the city.

Tranquil House in the Woods

We had a wonderful stay in the house. The setting is magnificent and exactly what we needed to unwind. The home is beautiful and the owner's clear instructions made everything easy to operate. Perfect getaway

Booked this home on short notice to get away for a couple days with my husband last minute. I have NEVER rented from VBRO any other site, so I was leery of using these apps. That has now changed. Steve and Emily made our visit effortless and ensured that all information is given to you prior so that you have zero questions. The house was adorably spacious and came with many IT features I did not expect in a “country-like setting.” Emily was easily accessible and transparent and I felt like they really wanted me to have a wonderful experience in their home. I will definitely be going back when we have the time and will reluctantly share this information about their home with friends and family even though I would like to keep it all to my self! Lol The only piece of advice I would have for people visiting this booking would be to make sure you have all of your information printed before you go up because there is ZERO cell service in the surrounding area, however at the the home you have excellent WIFI courtesy of the wonderful landlords. Enjoy!

A Colorado native transplant to New York, I split my time between this serene mountainside cabin in Pond Eddy and the hustle and bustle of Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan. I'm a classical pianist, piano instructor, and I dabble in a bit of screenwriting.

My partner and I take great pride in this cabin, and nothing brings us more joy than sharing it with other like-minded people who seek the healing serenity of the outdoors.

Why they chose this property

I moved from Colorado to NYC in 2009. While I love the city, a deep part of me misses those majestic Rocky Mountains. This wonderful spot in the Catskills scratches that itch (just enough).

The homes on our dirt road sit on large plots of land (9 acres for us!) so we enjoy absolute privacy. The neighbors are lovely and welcoming.

What makes this property unique

You won't find a more secluded location. Surrounded by 9 wooded acres, I'd be surprised if you hear a single car drive by on our dirt road.

We affectionately refer to this cabin as the "Tree House." Perched on a mountainside with floor-to-ceiling windows and an elevated deck, it feels like you're always up in the trees.

The outdoor deck is large enough to practice a gymnastics floor routine (although it's high up, so maybe don't). In particular, the huge roof deck is perfect for sun-bathing and star-gazing.

If you're looking for peace and quiet, natural light, and immersion in a beautiful natural setting... this is your happy place.
