About this property

Walk to the Beach - Large 3 BR in Freeland + late PM checkout OK Nov - April

Relax on Whidbey at this lovely 3-bedroom house, 2-bath house. Walk down to Robinson Beach (1500 feet) for beautiful sunsets or just experience them from the deck after a day exploring the island. The house sleeps 6 with 2 queen beds and 2 twin beds. A large living room, additional family room/TV room and deck peeking out to Puget Sound and the Olympics (with even better views in the winter) give you plenty of space to unwind. A well-stocked updated kitchen, two full bathrooms, washer and dryer, and wireless internet make your stay comfortable and easy. There is an indoor dining table that seats 6 and an umbrella table on the deck that seats 6 - choose whether to eat inside or out! The family room features a Roku Smart TV with all the streaming services, and there are board games and puzzles for kids and adults. The house is a 15 minute drive from the Clinton ferry and just over a mile from the large grocery store in Freeland - it's a wonderful base for exploring the island.
November through February, staying into the late afternoon on your checkout day will usually be available - please check, but we will do our best to accommodate that.
While on the island, check out the Bayview Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings, poke around the town of Langley, eat mussels in Coupeville, visit historic Ebey's Landing or Fort Ebey State park (our favorite spots on the island for hiking), or experience the Price Sculpture Forest - we have plenty of suggestions for outings. On your way home, stop for a cider and live music at the Greenbank Cidery, just a 4-minute drive away.
(Please note that the TV is a Roku TV which provides access to all of the major streaming services - bring your own login info - and there is no cable.)

Everything we needed

The house was super clean and had everything we needed. The deck is nice and the location was convenient. It was nice and quiet but close to the beach and to town.

Girls weekend

A friend and I came down for the weekend to explore the little towns on Whidbey island. This home was spacious, clean and exactly as advertised. Suzanne was a great communicator and was prompt to relay any info we required. I would highly recommend this location to anyone heading the Whidbey!

Comfy, clean, lovely, convenient!

We had a great getaway here! The place was so pleasant, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The layout was perfect for a family, with a TV room downstairs and peaceful living room upstairs with a beautiful view and lots of light. The bed was very comfortable, and the bedroom had lots of closet space. The kitchen had everything we needed, including coffee, some spices & oils, all the utensils, containers for leftovers, even a stepstool. The location was super-convenient to the ferry and as a home base for exploring the island. And Suzanne gave us lots of great recommendations for restaurants, groceries, hikes, and other things to do. We'd love to come back!

Great location and cute home!

We stayed at Suzanne's lovely home over a girl's weekend in October. I had never been to Whidbey before so was looking for a place that would be central to wine tasting, a beach and close to Langley. The house was perfect, as it was a short drive to several wineries, about a 10-15 minute drive to Langley, and just down the street and around the corner from a gorgeous sandy beach. There is beach parking if you need to drive, but it is also an easy walk from the house. Visiting Langley is a must as it is a cute town with shops, art and dining. Dancing Fish winery was a favorite and we certainly enjoyed a bottle down at the beach. In addition to being a wonderful location, the house itself is clean and welcoming with plenty of parking space in the drive. The home is a split level with 2 bedrooms, a bath and a tv room downstairs. Upstairs the kitchen has been fully remodeled and was stocked with everything we needed to enjoy a dinner in. The upstairs bathroom is also beautifully remodeled and the bedroom has a peek-a-boo water view. The beds and furniture are very comfortable. The layout of the home is conducive to socializing, with a large outdoor deck with chairs and a propane bbq off the main floor. The sunset sky view from the deck on the first night was beautiful. There is a gas "wood stove" in the main living room that put out plenty of heat and was nice to sit in front of and play cards. There is a large backyard with what looks like a firepit in the works.

We love Whidbey Island and we hope you will too! We have traveled all over the world but so far we haven't found a place that would move us away from Washington State - even living 2 years in New Zealand!

Why they chose this property

Getting off the ferry on the island brings an immediate calming sensation. We've had a beautiful east-facing view of the Washington Cascades for 25 years, but we love the west view here. It's lovely to walk down to the beach and to feel so close to the water. Freeland is the perfect base location on the island - away from the busy tourist scene in Langley but close enough to visit easily and the perfect location for island exploration, whether that is beach, forest, town, farmers' markets, outdoor sculpture, seafood, local beer and cider or something else.

What makes this property unique

The house has so much light and so much space - it really feels relaxing to stay there.
