Nice, quiet and friendly
We had a great stay. The apartment was clean and had everything you need in the kitchen to make meals with. My kids spent a lot of time fishing. Both catching their first fish while there. We spent nights at the campfire roasting marshmallows and hotdogs while reading scary stories. My kids really enjoyed the stay. Thanks for letting us make memories at your place.

Wonderful log cabin stay
Relaxing and inviting stay. We enjoyed the dock area and watching the ducks and geese. Very quiet and accessible neighborhood and location. Baxter, the neighborhood cat loves to visit. Wonderful beach and fire pit area. Hosts give you 100 percent privacy. Communication is excellent. You will not be disappointed booking this property.

Review Rating: 2/5 Pros: Great Host: The host was helpful and accommodating. Basement Apartment on the Water: The location is picturesque, offering a nice waterfront view. Cons: Outdated Property: The apartment felt outdated and could use some modernizing. Unpleasant Smell: There was an unpleasant odor throughout the apartment. Lack of Storage: The bedroom, which sleeps four people, had no closet or dresser. Inadequate Accommodations: The listing claimed to accommodate seven people, but there were only four chairs at the dining table and not enough towels for all guests. Misleading Listing: The listing showed a swing set, but there was none. Additionally, there were no walk boards as advertised. Noise Issues: The most disappointing aspect was being woken up at 6:30 AM every morning by a child yelling and running around for an hour, which severely impacted our stay. Summary: While the host was great and the waterfront location was appealing, several issues significantly affected our stay. The outdated and smelly property, lack of essential amenities, misleading listing details, and early morning noise were major drawbacks. Improvements in these areas could enhance future guests' experiences.

Relaxing Get Away!
We spent a week here and got exactly what we wanted. Access to the lake to swim and chill, but also close to other activities that we could take our kids to go do throughout the week. The owners gave all the privacy we needed even though they are right on property. We enjoyed every moment. It was a great first experience to the Lake Norman Area. One thing I would check on before you arrive is what water equipment will be available for your stay. We ended up only having access to the paddle boat and some floats, and wish we would have access to the kayaks and other equipment that was listed. But this did not hinder the fun we had!

Fun and relaxation by the lake
My first impression when i walked in the door was that the pictures online didn't do justice. I just smiled and felt cozy and comfortable immediately. We arrived late at night and hadn't been able to get to the store yet. It would've been nice to have coffee pods for the Kuerig in the morning. That is the only recommendation i would make. Our hosts and their grandchildren were super friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed cruising around the lake in the paddle boat. The kids loved sliding down the slide into the lake and making s'mores over the fire. Great place to relax! We look forward to visiting again. Thank you to Linda and Frank!!

Property could be perfect. A few things need to be fixed. Generally good. On a cove with no wake zone no speedy boats. Launch ramp about 8 miles but not hard to get to. Local ramp not public. Boat dock used for tying up boat during stay. Towels and linens were furnished.

Perfect place for a getaway
The place was perfect, guiet and right on Lake Norman. Too cold to go hang out in the water but was beautiful to look at. The house was very comfortable with plenty of room and all utensils needed was provided. Frank and his wife were very friendly and answered any questions I had. I highly recommend this house for any stay in the Charlotte area

It’s an average place with a beautiful view. Very dim lighting in kitchen. The rates are great. Needs some updating. Loveseat needs to be replaced. Enjoyed kitty that visited. We didn’t catch any fish here, even though we tried. Grill needed to be repaired and when I let them know, they bought a new one for us within a day.

Our first ever lake trip as family ♥️
Absolutely kid-approved. I have 3, far apart in ages 15, 7.. and 2years old and we all had a blast together! All had something they wanted to do out on the dock area. As well as the perfect spot for swimmers as well, considering the beach area. The house was clean and everything provided and check-out To-Do list was very minimal and easy. The host was welcoming and helpful consistently and we will definitely be back ☀️😎

Great Lake Getaway
We played at the lake for a few days, then ventured out and did different things in the Charlotte area and this was a great base for everything. The cabin is as described with everything needed for a fun vacation at the lake - safe swim and play area with a beach and covered docks featuring slide, diving board, fridge and cleats for your watercraft. Inside has space to lounge, a small dining table and kitchen, clean bedrooms and bathroom, and a laundry room. The hosts are nice but gave us plenty of space and responded helpfully and promptly to any questions. Grocery, marinas and dining nearby. FYI There is a cool park a mile or two north of the cabin with trails, a cool playground and more.

Born and Raised on Long Island, NY. Always had a passion for the Water. Navy Veteran. Raised my family on a Water-Front home on Long Island that I personally built. Followed my son to North Carolina where we found and built this unique property. I live with my wife in the upper portion of this beautiful log home and enjoy renting out to guests our lower level. My grandchildren who are 7 and 4 often visit on the weekends. The lower level is totally separated with its own parking, entrance and lighted drive.

Why they chose this property

I vacationed on Lake Norman for two summers and just knew I had to live here. I found this magnificent property in Sherrills Ford as an open lot. Me and my son developed and built my second dream house, A Log House.

What makes this property unique

Sherrills Ford has a top notch school district which is important for my extended Family. Excellent swimming, boating, jet skiing, fishing and outdoor living.
