Great cabin on the water
Great little cabin on Otter Tail. Clean and updated place. Paul, the owner, was very nice and helpful on answering questions about the area. It was a bit small for 6 but would be great for 4. The only issues related to the A/C leaking water on the floor and the shower not really warming up. Overall, we had a great time!

Just Okay little place.
I am not out to say this place was terrible at all. It was okay... I think staying early in the season (mid May 2022) had alot to do with the outcome of the review. First I would Like to say Paul the owner was very nice. He did try to accommodate us but it fell a little short of what we thought we were getting and paying for when we booked. I did call after I booked to make sure we were going to have a boat lift and I was told we would. With the late ice out we did not get a lift but Paul did put out a small dock which worked ok but I had to pull my boat out of the lake every night. We also did not have enough hot water. I think there was a 3 gallon water heater. We had 4 adults staying 3 nights and 4 days and no one was able to take a shower the whole time. We also had outdoor Temps in the lower 50s at night and our cabin had no heat. We made it work but another thing that would have been nice to know so we could prepare. All in all it was okay, I do think we overpaid for what we got. The cabin was renovated and very clean. But the other things really lowered the amount of stars I could give on this review. I think I'm being generous if I give 2-3 stars. If the price was lower for the time we stayed I would give 3 stars. If we had hot water I would give 3.5 stars. If we had heat I would give 4 stars. Being at the lake I always give 5 stars!!

Lake life
The cabin was updated cosmetically. The rooms had to have doors open otherwise there was no air conditioning getting in the room. Water was WELL water and smelled like it. Inside the main lodge was not open and the cabin did not have washer and dryer. But it’s at the lake and the view was amazing!! Plus Paul was very accommodating with anything that was needed!

So much for kids to do
Months into COVID, we needed a getaway. This property offers so many things for kids to do - aqua mat, swimming raft, paddle boat, paddleboards, etc. We rented Paul's boat one day which worked out great and had bonfires at night. We had a great stay!

Wonderful cabin and relaxing vacation
Newly remodeled cabin was the perfect getaway. Nice lake. Kids enjoyed kayaks and tubing and rented jet skis just up the road. The only thing missing in the cabin was an oven mitt 🙂

Beyond our expectations!!
This cabin was recently remodeled. We were the first guests to stay in the cabin since the renovation...they did a very nice job remodeling it. They thought of everything when they furnished the cabin. The rental is located within a small resort that has nice upkeep. We added a fishing boat to our reservation, which allowed us to enjoy the lake. The owners of the property were very welcoming and accommodating...a true pleasure to work with. We would return to this resort to utilize the cabin again.

Way over priced
Queen bed barely fits in the bedroom. Floors were filthy. No privacy....other guests sat on the deck and blinds were useless. No kitchen towels or dish cloths. Toilet would move when you sat on it! Water smelled terrible.

awesome owners, fun water toys!
We had a great time on the lake, and the owners were top notch. We loved the stand up paddle boards, kayaks, and the lodge was a great place to be when it rained. Wish we had more time.

We have been renting this cabin for the past 25+ years. As previous owners of The Lodge on Otter Tail Lake, we decided to keep this cabin, as it is one of our favorites. We use it for friend and relative overflow, but allow others to enjoy it when we are not using it.

Why they chose this property

Otter Tail Lake is the Largest small lake in Minnesota. What does that mean? It has a great vacation atmosphere. Cruise the 25+ miles of shoreline. Boat up to lakeside restaurants including Minnezota's infamouz Zorbaz. Explore nearby state and local parks.

What makes this property unique

This is a cute cabin for a couple (or 2) to share a quiet vacation with many of the comforts of home, but in a small package.
