Our stay was very accommodating and comfortable! Beautiful new bathroom! Plenty of room and privacy. The view of the mountains was astonishing. We would love to return when it is warmer. The property owner was very helpful in answering our questions before arriving and met us when we arrived.
The treehouse cottage is minutes from downtown Newland. We love the nearby Cranberry Café! My mother and I found that this was like a tardis, bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside! Not for those with weak knees
We had an amazing time. The cabinets, secluded and cozy and has everything you need for a short or long stay. The host was great about communication and helpful tips and information. Can’t wait to go back.
This place is unassuming, but a perfect getaway place for a family looking to unwind. Breezy nights and rocking chairs by the fire pit make it magical.
My wife and I rented this house for two days because we were going to the Wizard of Oz festival at Beech bottom. This house is very cozy, quaint, and quiet. We absolutely loved the fact it was secluded with a wonderful view of the mountains. The property manager sent us directions, but we were able to find it using Google maps. I highly recommend this property and would definitely stay there again.
What a quaint, relaxing place hidden in the hills of Newland! Located near local attractions & tree farms, this vacation rental will be a place our family returns and our friends will all hear about. Thank you for the “warm and cozy” atmosphere and the amenities to secure a relaxing family time and adventure.
Loved the house, very unique. Loved the views. Wintertime you would need 4 wheel drive since the road is steep but paved. Enjoyed our stay a lot. Kitchen very well stocked.
Very comfortable accommodation in a convenient location close to Newland.
We arrived late at night and the hosts were most considerate to turn on all the lights and unlock the door so that we were not struggling in the dark. We had a most comfortable stay with beautiful views of the mountains. We highly recommend this property.
If you're looking to stay in a house that reminds you of your grandmother's, this is the place for you. It's comforting and very classically vintage. Everything was clean and nothing was misrepresented. The views from the house were beautiful and it was very nice to watch the sunsets.
We really enjoyed our stay. Plenty of pillows, blankets, and towels, beds were comfy. The views are definitely the best part of this home.
GTK:The drive up is pretty steep, I would be concerned getting there in heavy rain or snow.
The owners were over the top
with communication and helpfulness. The property was clean, beds were comfortable, and the view is outstanding. I couldn’t have asked for more!

Great time!
This was a great stay. The place was perfect for us, had everything we needed. There was a beautiful mountain view. The owners could not be more accommodating and easy to work with. We took the trip because we were attending a wedding but have talked about a return visit just because we had a great time.
We had a wonderful time during our stay. Wonderfully surprised by snow! Icy morning made for a difficult drive up the mountain, but no complaints by us. Home was warm and inviting. Communication with the owners was easy. The decor was a blast from the past. The home has been well cared for. Would stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay here! The house was very clean and cozy. The views are beautiful inside and outside of the home. The hostess was wonderful from directions to the house to quickly responding to any of our questions. She was beyond accommodating with all our needs. We will be back again. Highly recommend.

About the host

Grandma & Grandpa built this house to be close to their grandchildren. Now we want to share this lovely spot with you
Why they chose this property
The Blue Ridge Mountains are a magical place to live. This house is right in the woods and has many windows so you seem to be outside even when you are in. There are many different birds, and a family of foxes. The cool evening mountain air is just the thing after a warm summer day.
What makes this property unique
After a day of shopping, hiking, walking, or sightseeing, this is a cozy and comfortable home to return to. It is near the Blue Ridge Parkway, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls & Linville Caverns. Avery County is centrally located so you can be in Blowing Rock or Boone in 30 miniutes or less or venture further to Black Mountain or Asheville.
