What makes this property unique

Our 1844-built house was recently restored/transformed into an immersive IG-ready gumbo of Old Nola, Art Nouveau, Modernist and Rock'n'Roll - as comfortable for Jimmy Page as it is for Grandma. Dwell Magazine did a big spread on it, out Jan 2024. It's got 14 foot ceilings, original wood panelling, comfortable bedding, excellent central AC/Heat, incredible natural light and the spacious Lanai porch/hot tub in our beautifully private backyard. We're in the heart of the hip, slightly scruffy, mostly residential Bywater District close to wonderful restaurants, bars, with a good amount of free street parking. The area is quite safe and quiet at night (the cute weekend bar nearby is open thurs-sat and closes 10pm). This old house does have its quirks which you can easily navigate with our House Manual and contact person, Kay.

The massive 1st floor also includes a huge gothic BALLROOM (45x19 ft) which can serve as an extra bedroom and leads into an open bar space/kitchen (665 sq ft) connecting to the screened-in PORCH/LANAI (300 sq ft), the HOT TUB, and backyard (400 sq ft) - larger events (parties, etc) are negotiable. We can provide production, entertainment/staff/catering if needed. We do ask that the events/partying happens only on the first floor or the upstairs kitchen. The Masters living area especially, should be treated with respect (no shoes etc) because of the decor. We'll photograph the house before and after your visit and can also do a walk-through with you upon entry and as you check out for total clarity. The number of antiques and lack of childproofing doesn't make this suitable for kids under 12 (infants are fine). Dogs can be negotiated. But for all others, this space is not just a bnb; it's an immersive Nola experience like no other!
