Perfectly situated for surfers, kayakers and beachcombers, this 1,800-square-foot home built by Benjamin Barber in 1908 has been updated with coastal décor, hardwood floors throughout and modern appliances. The attractive back patio is an ideal gathering place for family and friends, with a fire pit, gourmet gas grill, patio seating and a wooden cabana.
The 1,536sf, 3-bedroom, 2.5-bath light-filled residence is located close to many area attractions and is only a few minutes from downtown Monterey, Fisherman’s Wharf and the Monterey Bay Aquarium, 10 minutes from Carmel-by-the-Sea and Pebble Beach® and 45 minutes from the natural wonders of Big Sur.
The two-story home features a kitchen and dining area on the top level, as well as a living room, a small den and office space and many coastal touches such as local seashore themed art. Shells and starfish can be found throughout, with easy-care hardwood floors and tile counter tops.
The kitchen offers stainless steel appliances, including a four-burner gas stove, and plenty of counter space; the dining table can be expanded to seat six. Space to work or answer email can be found in the office right off the kitchen, next to a half-bath.
The cozy living room features an electric fireplace and 48-inch HDTV, as well as a queen sleeper sofa. The living room is open to a den with more space for relaxing and reading as well as two single futon day couches. The semi-open floor plan makes it a great gathering space for family and friends.
The enclosed back patio also is ideal for enjoying afternoon barbecues or cocktails in the evening, with outdoor string lights and a fire pit available in addition to a wooden cabana tent and patio seating along with a propane BBQ grill. The back patio also has some space to store your beach gear. Well-equipped for extended stays!
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
All three bedrooms are located on the lower level, and have HDTVs, wall-mounted mini electric fireplaces and high quality linens.
Bedroom #1 offers access to the patio and a separate entrance. The room features a queen bed with headboard. The en suite bath includes a large mirror, single sink, and tub-shower combination.
Bedrooms #2 and #3 each have a queen bed.
The full hallway bath on this level has a glass enclosed shower and single sink.
Upstairs there is a half bathroom.
A queen sleeper sofa is located in the living room, and in the adjacent den are two narrow twin futons that offer additional sleeping options for children.
A stacked washer-dryer can also be found on this level.
Parking for up to two vehicles is available on the street.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome with pre-approval, an additional pet fee and a signed pet addendum.
This home is a monthly rental and we request that all nights of your stay are within the same calendar month. Some exceptions may be possible, with the approval of our team and the homeowner. Extended stays are often possible.
