About this property

Whole House Miner’s Cabin Old Bisbee

Welcome to Centralia, our little 1904 Miner’s cabin right in the heart of historic Old Bisbee! If you're looking for walkable restaurants, shopping, and night life, you’ve found the spot. Once you park, you can forget about the car—everything’s a short walk from here. We’re steps from the Iron Man statue and close enough to the action without being too close for comfort. Need a quick bite or a drink? There are 4 restaurants super close by, and Brewery Gulch is just down the hill!

This place has been around since 1904-1906, and it’s been through a lot—like all Bisbee homes, it’s got a few quirks, but we’ve updated it to keep you comfy and safe. The house has a bit of that “Bisbee lean” (you’ll see what we mean when you get here), but locals call it "Bisbee Level."

Cozy Vibes: We’ve added fireplace-like heaters in three rooms to keep things toasty in the cooler months. ACs go in the windows during the summer. The vintage stove is a dream to cook with. The screened porch is the perfect
spot for your morning coffee or at the kitchen table with the hummingbirds buzzing around. It’s quiet, private, and surrounded by nature. You’ll love it.
Walking Distance to convenience: The Circle K is just a quick walk for snacks or ice, and the High Desert Market is great for wine and cheese (because who doesn’t love that?).

Keeping it Safe

You’ll notice we don’t allow candles, incense, grills, or anything with flames. That’s because Bisbee homes are old, and most of them are made of wood—so no fire, please! We’re talking even the smallest flame is a no-go. Gummies or vape? Sure. Just no joints or bowls. It’s a bummer, we know.

Wildlife & Critters

Heads up: We’re in the high desert, so you might see a javelina or two around here. They aren’t friendly, so don’t leave trash outside! We also do our best to keep the creepy crawlies out, but if you see something, let us know privately. No one likes pests, and we’re on top of it.

We’re Here to Help

We’ve got all the house info in a binder on the coffee table, and there are manuals in the drawer or binder if you need them. There are a lot of remotes, please don't lose them. If you have any questions or need help, just let us know—we’re only a call away. We both have hospitality backgrounds, so your comfort is our priority. Oh, and please give us feedback directly instead of online shaming—we're all about fixing issues fast.

So, whether you’re coming for Bisbee’s fun or just need a cozy retreat, Centralia is the perfect place. Book now and enjoy a mix of history, nature, art and bohemian attitude.

Thank you for supporting our stewardship of this piece of history. Permit # 20241585

Old Bisbee Charm

Centralia Miner's Cabin exudes old-time Bisbee charm. Liz & Lex have gone above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. Lots of thoughtful amenities. If you love birds, you will appreciate the backyard feeder. I'd love to go back next time I visit Bisbee.

Early Spring in Bisbee

It was a nice butpleasant surprise. It is cross between an early 1900s miners cabin with enough expansions and tech upgrades to keep a soul happy. You get a taste of what Bisbee lean (Bisbee level to locals) means. If you're looking quiet rustic charm, this is a great choice. Great location to stay to see other South East Arizona attraction as well.

Very fun, perfect communication with owner

This is a charming authentic historical small home in a location that is an easy walk to downtown Bisbee. The owner provided more amenities than we have seen in any other vacation home. Great job! It is quite comfortable, charmingly decorated, and perfect accommodations for a visit to Bisbee. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Charming Cabin

Three of us booked this cabin for a weekend administrative retreat. It was generously stocked with linens, kitchen equipment, electronic conveniences (outlets, monitors, etc.), and games and books. Thoughtful touches like provided toiletries, snacks, and drinks made us feel very welcomed, and the variety of furnishings meant we were able to have space to both work and relax. The host was communicative, offered lots of recommendations when asked, and didn't require jumping through a ton of hoops at check-in and check-out. It was a very sweet little place to retreat to for a weekend, with a host who clearly cares about creating a positive stay for guests!

First Trop to Bisbee

Like the title states this was mine and my husbands first trip to Bisbee and we had a great time! Staying in this cozy cabin was amazing from the stocked kitchen to the fireplaces throughout the home that warmed us up on a chilly night. The decor was very comfortable and fun especially the hummingbird theme which I love.Location was great a few minutes to nearby restaurants and about a fifteen minute walk to town, only took our car out once. Will definitely be back and would recommend this house to everyone!

A gem of a getaway

What a darling and cozy cabin in Bisbee. We were so fortunate to find it and highly recommend it. We wanted to see the Sandhill Cranes and were 30 mins from 2 sites. Elizabeth was excellent to communicate with. We plan to stay here again this summer.

Fantastic Stay in the Heart of Bisbee.

We had an amazing time staying at this charming property in Bisbee! The space was spotless, with thoughtful touches that made it feel like a home away from home. The extra amenities were a real bonus—plenty of books, games, and a TV for relaxing evenings in. The lighting throughout the house was perfect, creating a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The 2 bedrooms and an enclosed patio gave us plenty of space. The location couldn't be better—just a short walk to all the unique shops, restaurants, and local activities Bisbee has to offer. We especially appreciated the attention to detail, from the well-stocked kitchen to the comfortable furnishings. This property is ideal for anyone looking for a clean, convenient, and relaxing place to stay while exploring this wonderful town. We’ll definitely be back!

Lex and I are expat Philadelphians who appreciate history and the hard work that goes into rehabbing a special home. With our backgrounds in hospitality, we fell in love with this place during our visit last summer. Just three months later, we embarked on what we call "our largest art project ever!" We did much of the work ourselves—let me tell you, it needed it! Coming from blue-collar backgrounds, we’re handy and put our skills to good use. It has truly been a labor of love, and we feel fortunate to have wonderful guests like you supporting our journey.

Why they chose this property

Bisbee is the most welcoming and bohemian town you'll ever visit! One of its best features is the incredible walkability—everywhere you go feels just a few steps away. Whether you're heading to a local cafe or exploring hidden gems, you'll find something special around every corner.

For a deeper understanding of our unique town, check out the book "The Steps of Bisbee," located under the TV. It's a great resource to help you discover all that Bisbee has to offer!

What makes this property unique

With only six steps, we feel lucky to have found this easily accessible gem. It’s so secluded that the U.S. Historic Register missed us! This mysterious property has likely had three different addresses since its inception between 1904 and 1906, and there are no tax records prior to 1930. It exudes great loving energy, and we decorated it as a bachelor cabin, reflecting its original intent. It is not a Sears kit. It's too early for that. It follows the classic miner cabin venacular of a kit sent with no instructions! ( E.F. Hodgson Homes?) Many long-time locals know only a small bit about it or don’t even realize it’s here.

Built on three overlapping mine claims and three Indigenous territories, the house has been constructed upon several times.

As for the name "Centralia," it holds a special meaning for us. We're originally from Pennsylvania, where anthracite mining was once king. A terrible accident occurred in the town of Centralia when a mine caught fire. Because anthracite coal burns the hottest and slowest, the fire still burns underground today, leaving just three residents. (Crazy, right?)

We believe that fire represents an eternal flame, reminding us of the miners who worked harder than we ever could to build this home and the town we cherish. It’s important that we never forget them.
