Entirely New! Private Yard w/ Hot Tub! Near It All
Imagine staying just 10 minutes from downtown, and being able to just open the back door and let your dog out. Enjoy a safe & spacious yard, and a bedroom your kids will love. And we've just added a hot tub.
Inside and out, we aimed to create an environment that blends the look of a boutique hotel with the comfortable feel of home. Near everything!
IDEAL FOR:
* Museum & convention visitors
* people traveling downtown, to Lawrenceville, or the Strip District
* travelers with dogs
* families
* 2-3 couples traveling together
A bright, open concept first floor creates an ideal gathering space for the whole group. There is also a powder room between the living room and dining area.
The first floor has a dedicated workspace next to the dining table. The dining tale accommodates six, with two additional pub seats at the kitchen counter.
Outdoor areas include a side and back yard, larger than entire city lot, with a dining table for four, fire pit w/ chairs, and a grill. The yard is completely fenced-in, with gates in the front and the back. Don't forget about the new hot tub!
The second floor includes two bedrooms with generous closet space. In the hallway there is full bathroom with a tub, along with a closet for the washer and dryer. The larger bedroom includes a king bed, while the other 2nd floor bedroom has two twin and one full bed.
The third bedroom is on the top floor, with its own full size bathroom. In addition to a full bed, there is also a crib and a children's play area.
All bedrooms have Roku TVs.

Guests can access the entire house, aside from two locked supply closets.
You will also have a private, fully fenced-in yard. And the house also has 3 dedicated off-street parking spots.
We're committed to doing whatever we can to make your stay the best it can be. We absolutely love this city and would be delighted to share with you some of our favorite restaurants, museums, parks or attractions. We respect your privacy and will communicate as little or as much as you wish.
Troy Hill is compact, with narrow streets. Lots of houses in the neighborhood have been renovated, but lots have not.
Despite its gritty aesthetic, Troy Hill is a desirable place to live, because of the rejuvenation happening there, and its proximity to downtown, the Strip District, and Lawrenceville.
Because the neighborhood can feel a little tight, we were determined to offer our guests a large private yard under an open sky, along with private parking.
Two great morning spots are within walking distance:
* De Fer Coffee and Tea at 1800 Rialto St (6-minute walk)
* Scratch & Co. at 1720 Lowrie St (7-minute walk, amazing food for breakfast or lunch!)
The area is served by Uber/Lyft and the street is on the #4 bus line, which is an option for getting downtown.
You can also catch some nice views from Look Out Street Parklet, which is just a 3 minute walk from the front door.
If you choose to brave driving up and down Rialto Street, you can enjoy Herr's Island, with its marina, dining at Redfin Blues, and a riverfront trail. It's also just a 20-minute walk from the house, but make more time for the uphill journey back, or call an Uber!
We're available to help make your stay the best it can be, but the level of communication is entirely up to you. It is always our pleasure to make suggestions on where to go and what to do - from museums to my favorite walkable streets.
You will also receive a guidebook three days before check-in with recommendations and instructions for the appliances in the home.

About the host
Hosted by Andrew

I'm Andrew, and I cannot express to you enough how happy I am to be back in my hometown of Pittsburgh. After growing up in the area's declining steel industry, and moving to New England for about 9 years, I'm finally back to the only city that ever felt like home.
I started Steel River Ventures as a way to embrace the city I love when I moved back home to Pittsburgh in 2017. Now I want to share my homes and my city with our guests! I've been fortunate enough to grow over the years along with Pittsburgh and watch it transform. With every day that passes, I discover something else about this city that I love and would be happy to share that with you.
I am more than happy to be as active a host as you'd like. By default, you as a guest will have your privacy, but I'm always available to meet and share my thoughts on the area with you. Be warned though, I love Pittsburgh and that will come through in our conversations!
My primary income is working in vocational learning technology, but I am a car guy at heart. Whenever my schedule allows, I try to get to local track events at roadcourses, auto-cross or hillclimb venues. I enjoy teaching performance driving, car control and driver safety as well. I also try to read a little (usually non-fiction), visit the gym as often as possible, and spend time with family and friends.

Why they chose this property
Troy Hill is near everything and perched quietly above it all. It's a true Pittsburgh neighborhood, maintaining the grit of a bygone era. But it is considered a desirable place to live, and there's lots of residential and commercial investment in the area.
What makes this property unique
The yard! Fully fenced-in, a yard this size is a real rarity so close to downtown.
