I would like to let you know that I personally clean my property after each stay except for a few times in the summer when I am away. At this time a trusted friend cleans that understands my standards and expectations. I do not use a cleaning service. This is how I cleaned before the Corona Virus outbreak and this is how I will continue to clean after it for your safety and comfort. -All bath towels are white so they are washed in hot water and bleach. -All bed linens are washed in hot water -We have a dishwasher for kitchenware so it is sanitized in hot water -All floors are steam mopped -Hard surfaces are cleaned with disinfectant wipes or spray -I use organic cleaners and soaps whenever possible such as Method Antibac -All commonly touched items are cleaned after every stay (doorknobs, remotes, etc.) -If you find something is not to your satisfaction, please let me know.

Access to many cute towns in under an hour, close to Acadia National Park, and tucked away into the woods for a sense of privacy in nature! Only struggle was keeping the place cool enough... but it was definitely unseasonably warm.
Well-kept, comfortable and charming house! We loved the deck and the firepit, and our young adult sons loved having the lower level as their space. Well-appointed kitchen, clear instructions, communicative host. We absolutely loved it and would definitely stay here again.
This house is a great setup for families with kids and dogs! Ample linens and kitchen supplies to allow families to cook their own meals.
The house is older, but clean and functional. The kids loved the extra den space downstairs.
The setting is quiet and away from crowds - just what we wanted. About 15 minutes to groceries and restaurants, an hour to Acadia, making it a great 'home base'. The fire pit outside was a nice bonus.
Will definitely look to stay again if we return to the area!
The house is set up nicely. Everything we needed was there. Plenty of space for teens to be downstairs with their own nice space. We loved the nice kitchen. Nice deck, lovely yard, flowers, greenery, can’t see the neighbors unless you really try. Everything worked as it should. We had a very nice time.
Our family of 8 enjoyed our visit to Maine and the home on Castine Rd. We visited Acadia for 2 days and enjoyed a visit to Castine. We loved our afternoon at Back shore beach at low tide. The home was very comfortable and spacious for our family and well stocked with essentials. We enjoyed eating lobster on the deck. Katrina provided so much helpful information and was so easy to communicate with. We had a very peaceful and relaxing stay.
We really enjoyed the place. The location was a center point for all our travels. The place was very well stocked. We had everything we needed to enjoy our meals there. Linens were plentiful. I would definitely recommend staying here.
We had a great stay. House is well appointed and had everything we need. It was unseasonably hot while we were there so the a/c u it had trouble keeping up but we were sure glad the house had a/c as most in mid-coast do not. Nice area and close to Acadia and Ellsworth.
This property was exactly as described in the listing. It was the perfect location and stay for our son's Maine wedding. Location is great for sightseeing and exploring the beautiful state of Maine.
Property is a quaint house, with easy access and a nice yard to enjoy, especially if you enjoy sitting by a fire pit.
Host is very easily contacted and nice to work with…
Would definitely consider staying there again if we are back in the area..
The cottage is very comfortable and well maintained and is located perfectly in between all of the upper coastal areas. There is a sense of privacy, which is lovely at night.
I highly recommend staying at this cottage if you are visiting the Belfast, Camden, Bar Harbor and Arcadia area.
Cozy house! Had a few hot days but air conditioning did a good job on first floor. Bottom floor was on cooler side and fine with fans. Only disappointment was the grill racks were rusty so we didn’t feel we could grill . Location was good in between location for everything we wanted to do. Acadia was only 1 hr away. A lot to do in the area and host was welcoming!
We loved our week at the cabin. It was clean, comfortable and a great location for visiting Castine, the lakes nearby as well as Ellsworth and Blue Hill. It was also great to be able to have our two dogs with us. We appreciated how welcome they were.
I planned this trip flying to Boston and then ultimately staying the bulk of time in this wonderful home with my children (8 years to 20 years range). I was a little nervous on the drive of the distance/remoteness but any worry left as I went on, it was like driving through a magazine or movie, so gorgeous. The home is spacious and well supplied for comfortable sleep, cooking, & relaxing. We all enjoyed hanging out there, loved the small town of Castine, enjoyed the drive to Acadia/Bar Harbor area for some activities and day trips but I was always glad and relieved to drive back to this home. My kids loved hanging out in the quiet downstairs. The fire pit, large yard, grill, outdoor eating tables were a wonderful bonus. We all sure hope to return sometime!!! Next time I will fly into Bar Harbor and enjoy this diverse area instead of trying to see so much in one trip.
The house was spacious, well equipped, very comfortable and ideal for family vacations. Bar Harbor about 50 mins away, limited 'shopping', but plenty of sights in the neighboring areas.
The only down side is the excess of ticks in the area, but that's native to Maine these days.
Overall a very enjoyable week away!!
Location is great between Bangor & Bar Harbor, so best of both worlds in driving distance!!!
House is a quaint 4 bedroom & 2 bath property….. nice quiet , and wooded lot for privacy!!!
Deck is awesome to sit and watch The Hares hop around!!!
A nice short ride to Castine Maritime and to view the harbor and gorgeous houses!!
We would most definitely come back !!!
We stayed at Katrina’s beautiful home for my daughter’s wedding in Orland, only 20 minutes away. I know the area and usually stay on or close to Little Deer Isle, but I’ve always loved Castine as well, which is only 10 minutes from this cottage. It had every convenience imaginable, was impeccably clean, and I would have given it 5 stars for every category, except our checkout time was changed to earlier than we had agreed to. One of my main criteria when I rent is having a later checkout time for medical reasons. But everything else about our stay was superb! I especially appreciated Katrina’s extra care to reduce the Covid risk.
We came in from NE and MO to visit the area. The house was great! We visited Acadia National Park and Boothbay Harbor and this was a good central location. The house was clean and had enough pots, pans and kitchen supplies for us to cook our own meals. Perfect place!
