About this property

The Oak Meadows Guest House

The Oak Meadows Guest House is a wonderful private retreat for your Yosemite Vacation with end of the road privacy. The Guest House is newly renovated in a minimalistic style with everything you need for an enjoyable getaway with your favorite someone.

Located just outside of the Historical town of Mariposa, it is quiet and peaceful, surrounded by oak woodlands. It is a beautiful 45 minute drive following the scenic Merced River to Yosemite’s Arch Rock Entrance Station

You will discover that The Oak Meadows Guest House features a very comfortable and open living, dining, and kitchen area featuring abundant windows that fill the space with natural light while providing delightful views.

The stained concrete floor is a beautiful and cooling blue-green color that also provides radiant heating during the winter months.

In the kitchen, you’ll find all the tools needed to prepare your favorite meals. If you like to cook, you’ll love this kitchen.

The bedroom opens to a private outdoor patio with a barbecue and seating area for delightful outdoor meals.

There is a 65” smart TV on a swivel wall mount for those evenings that you just want to kick back and relax.

We are happy to welcome you at our home and surrounding property. There are no restrictions about where you are allowed wander and explore, other than respect for the neighbors and the environment . Kids are especially happy and playing and exploring outside of the house.

The three bedroom, Oak Meadows House is a short distance away and may be occupied by other guests during your stay, or possibly available for you to rent in addition to the Guest House. It is a wonderful situation for larger groups and family reunions offering both closeness, and a perfect amount of separate privacy.

There is a day pack in the entry closet available for you to use during your stay. (Please return it after your day trip for future guests to use)

About the host

Host profile image
I’m originally from Philadelphia and moved to Yosemite in 1978. I worked for the National Park Service in Yosemite, for 27 years. I started out working on a trail crew and lived all summer in the backcountry of the Park for many years. I came down from the mountains when I was blessed with children and joined the Utilities Department taking care of the water systems throughout the Park.
I left the Park Service in 2007 to develop this property with my son and brother.
I’m retired now, and have spent every summer in the Czech Republic since 2010 and make my home available to folks from around the world that come to experience Yosemite.
I currently mentor teen boys on their way to manhood while in the Czech Republic and find that work incredibly fulfilling.

Why they chose this property

Proximity to Yosemite, the Merced River, and living in a small and safe town keeps me here. Take the time to explore Mariposa and you’ll be richer for it.

What makes this property unique

The Oak Meadows House and Guest House were built with love and care. This is my home…not a business investment. I want everyone who stays here to make themselves at home, and let that welcomed feeling sink in while you enjoy your visit to Yosemite. Relax. Kick your shoes off and enjoy!
