I've stayed in a lot of rentals, and this one has joined my favorites category. Beautiful place. Convenient to all the places where we wanted to go. Comfortable beds. I don't know if I'll ever be back in Frederick, but if I am, I know where I want to stay.
The property was even better than I expected. Christine and Ryan thought of everything. Anything you could need is there and the property is full of character and comfort! Loved the exposed Brick and the beds were super comfy! Kitchen and bath well supplied. Christine reached out and offered an early check-in which we greatly appreciated and took advantage of. Convenient and easy parking available in front of the property with alternatives available. Hope to visit again!

About the host
Hosted by Christine Ando
Our hope is that you will walk into this adorable space and say it's cuter than the photos! We also hope you will feel it is cleaner than most short term rentals you've stayed in. We hate staying in short term rentals where we can't take our shoes off and feel at home. We make sure to go above and beyond to keep this home super duper clean and to make it an inviting space. Bring your slippers!
We are your hosts, Ryan and Christine. We moved to Maryland in 2020 from Monterey, California. In September 2024 we bought this adorable house (built in 1918) and decided to become short term rental hosts because we have absolutely fallen in love with Downtown Frederick. We so much want to share that feeling by providing a comfortable and unique vacation experience. Every time we do short term rentals, we are disappointed by the lack of certain things or the very cheap quality of other things. We have worked really hard to provide a higher quality stay and we hopefully have thought of everything our guests need for a great experience.
Why they chose this property
We love that this neighborhood is still Downtown Frederick, but it's not in the heart of downtown. You get the peace and quiet that comes with living in a neighborhood, but it is still a half mile walking distance to all the shopping, fine dining, culture, and downtown life that you might crave while on vacation in a historic city.
We love that this home is located across the street from the Dairy Maid Dairy. It is a 150 year old community business that is the perfect neighbor if you ask us. The Dairy Maid Dairy barely makes much noise during business hours and then all the workers clock out in the evening and the street is quiet and empty. Perfect neighbors. I love the brick facade from the old Frederick Iron & Steel building that the Dairy Maid Dairy now occupies. The building has so much history to boast and I love it! It feels so old and charming to look at.
There is a super cute coffee shop just one block away called Gravel and Grind and it's just the perfect morning walk for a cup of coffee or tea.
What makes this property unique
This property was built in 1918. It is quirky and charming and we love it! It has been nicely updated, but still has a lot of original features. The original exposed brick walls throughout both levels of the home bring such beauty and uniqueness. They have been lovingly sealed. The original hardwood floors are in gorgeous condition, which is why we don't allow pets (sorry!). Even our beloved adventure cat who is leash trained doesn't get to visit this home. One of the previous owners was an iron-worker, so he designed and constructed the pretty and unique iron banister that runs along the stairwell leading upstairs. This home is just such a nice blend of updated and modern but still historic and old.
