This was an excellent place to spend a relaxing few days. Very cozy and felt like home. John was a great host and made everything very easy. Highly recommended!
Comfortable accommodations with a well stocked kitchen for making meals. Hosts were very congenial and accessible during our stay. Very relaxing while being close to all the Pioneer Valley has to offer.
This place is very homey and has a great location for a visit to North Hampton and East Hampton area. There were a few minor inconveniences, especially during a very hot and muggy stay. First there is only two air conditioners in the bedroom, which meant that the living area and kitchen were very stifling at times even if you try to use fans to move the cold air from the bedrooms.
second, the people sharing the House, did not tell me that the kitchen fan didn’t work, and when I turned it on when I was cooking on multiplications, they were quite invasive into the space. We were renting to tell me how loud it was for them. Again, this is something that should’ve been disclosed before we started because no one wants someone banging their doors or getting in their face about a loud sound that could’ve easily been prevented by telling us not to do it.
Finally, the instructions for cleanup and trash, as well as towels, and linens were not quite clear so my suggestion is that they make a booklet with more detailed descriptions of what to do and where to put the trash and recycling.
My husband and I have stayed at Mountain View many times and always look forward to it and disappointed when there is not an opening when we want to visit Northampton. It is comfortable, a conveniently located, private, spacious, and quiet. If you enjoy large windows with views of the MA mountains, this is the place for you.
The expansive view of this lodging was an unexpected surprise as was the warmth of the inviting kitchen and the book laden living room. There is a food co-op close by and downtown Northampton is not far away. The host was gracious and helpful and knowing that he was one floor below was a comfort to this solo traveler. If you want privacy, quiet, and peace, this location has it all.
The house has a warm, rustic feel. The units are separated enough to provide privacy and quiet. The kitchen is very well stocked and set up. The owners couldn’t be nicer. We liked it so much we already booked for next year.
Stayed in Mountainview while my daughter attended a dance workshop for the week. The beds, sheets, and pillows we’re comfortable. We stayed during a very humid heat wave, and the two mini splits in the bedrooms were sufficient to cool off the entire living space. The owners are on site and available for questions, but also gave us privacy and space. They offered vegetables and herbs from their gardens. There are many outdoor seating areas to enjoy. The property is well off the road but easily accessible to the downtown and major routes. I would highly recommend staying here!
We really enjoyed our stay! The home was cozy, very roomy, with plenty of room for good times with family. We particularly enjoyed the open feeling and big picture window looking out on the grounds. The hosts were so nice and take great pride in their lovely home. We would definitely try to stay here again on our next visit to the area.
Great getaway place that is off the main road and very quiet but only minutes from food, grocery, dispensaries, whatever you may need. Kitchen has pots, pans utensils and dishwasher. John is immediately responsive to texts. The only cons are the very thin bath towels and shower curtain that doesn’t completely cover the shower. Would definitely stay again
The apartment was in great shape, very well equipped and comfortable. The view from the picture window was beautiful. The hosts were very generous and accommodating.
Cute little spot, conveniently located. Quiet and cozy! Great kitchen! Beautiful view! Owners were helpful and communication was superb!! Can’t wait to stay again!
This was a lovely rustic apartment overlooking a garden and meadow. They owners were chefs so the kitchen and the equipment actually function which is nice and not always true in other places. The owners live below and there is another unit rented next door, but the owners have taken a lot of care to soundproof the walls and create private outdoor spaces. I would absolutely stay again.
We'v stayed at Mountain View several times and always enjoyed the quiet, privacy, location near places we want to go, and comfort. We were allowed to check in early which we greatly appreciated. We look forward to returning in the future.
My second time staying here for an annual Horse Show! Clean, quality furnishing, huge lawn, garden, parking. A sense of privacy but minutes from a large well stocked Co-op and minutes to downtown Northampton. A culture of quality, conservation, Food and the arts are expressed by the interior design and fit out. Grateful to have found this special place.
We loved our two weeks in the country (but still so near to both Northampton and Easthampton!). John and Jim were great hosts— they brought us sugar snap peas and let us chop dill and chives from the garden. Our dog enjoyed roaming the property even though he and the host’s dog weren’t best friends. So much beauty in the area— we will return!
Country views, flowers, rock gardens, songbirds, and comfort.
Beautiful country setting with views of field and forest and the sounds of songbirds. Hosts have put a lot of thought, energy, and creativity into making both inside and outside beautiful and comfortable. Hosts are readily available, helpful, but never intrusive. Minutes from Northampton and Easthampton. Would definitely return.
John and Jim are gracious hosts. The property is comfortable, quiet and well appointed. The view out back is beautiful and the perfect spot for morning coffee or evening wine. This was our second stay while visiting family and we’ll certainly be back.
Beautiful and relaxing setting close to everything
Amazing hosts -- kind and available for questions, great recommendations about area restaurants and bakeries, and the opportunity for to pull rhubarb from their garden.
The setting is gorgeous and feels open and rural, yet is only a mile or two from groceries, restaurants, and more. There is a hiking trail just around the corner in easy walking distance and many wonderful nearby places to hike, bike, go for a trail run.
I spent a few days working from the beautiful dining room solarium -- best work setting ever! -- then we had family in town for an event. This place had everything we needed and we appreciated the many well appointed indoor and outdoor spaces.
