Our vacation rental is a Beachcomber's Retreat!!! We are located only 150 steps from the pristine Gulf of Mexico beaches. This fully furnished two bedroom, two bath downstairs retreat is part of a "quadraplex" located on gorgeous Manasota Key[ ][1]in Southwest Florida.
Beachcomber of Manasota Key is an easy minute and half stroll leading to the beach for those morning walks, shell and shark teeth collecting, swimming, sitting under an umbrella, or watching a beautiful sunset. Plenty of shared amenities for everyone...beach chairs, umbrellas, and bicycles are available and ready to use. We make it easy for you to relax and enjoy your vacation!
Sandy Toes is a fully furnished two bedroom, two bath downstairs bungalow which is part of a "4-Plex" property. Sandy Toes offers a fully stocked kitchen, dining table, living area, one bedroom with a queen size bed and a master bedroom with a king size bed and ensuite bathroom, as well as an additional bathroom. The living area has a queen size sleeper sofa with an upgraded memory foam mattress for added comfort. Note: Sandy Toes is downstairs below another bungalow. Keeping this in mind 'normal daily activities' make noise. All attempts will be made to keep noise at a minimum from up above.
We are a nonsmoking property and smoking is NOT permitted in retreats or around the immediate vicinity of the property as a courtesy to all of our guests.
Beachcomber of Manasota Key is also happy to offer guests the option of traveling with their pet. For an additional fee, we welcome dogs.
Please Note: The maximum number of overnight guests in Sandy Toes is limited to six (6) persons (children included). The maximum combination of persons allowed in Sandy Toes is:
* Four (4) Adults or
* Four (4) Adults and 1 Teenager or
* Four (4) Adults and Two (2) Children under the age of 12
About Our Amenities
This retreat provides you with all the conveniences to make your stay comfortable and memorable. Some of the conveniences include a keyless entry door, microwave, refrigerator, Keurig coffee maker, cable connected 50" Smart TV in the living area, as well as 30" Smart TV's in the bedrooms, and wireless internet access. There is also a laundry room with 2 standard size washers and dryers as well as a folding area. For the cooks in the group, 2 outdoor gas grills are available.
Excellent Location
The beautiful Stump Pass State Park is a 12 minute walk from our property. Here you can fish, hike the nature paths, launch a boat or kayak, or just relax on the secluded beach. We have plenty of shared kayaks and paddle boards to use as you cruise through Lemon Bay or the Gulf Mexico hanging out with dolphins and manatees or just enjoying the sights and sounds of the osprey and pelicans.
At our sister property, Beachcomber Bayfront, we offer daily, weekly or monthly boat slip rentals for guests wanting to bring their boat. Boat slips include electricity, fish cleaning station w/running water, trailer parking and ice. Be sure to reserve your spot early.
After a day at the beach, you can come back and relax in the spacious backyard with plenty of shade. We have two paver patio areas surrounded by lush tropical landscaping. One for dining or relaxing and one with a wood burning fire pit surrounded by the most comfortable Adirondack chairs. This is the perfect place to gather with friends and take advantage of the peace and tranquility of Manasota Key.
Beachcomber of Manasota Key offers you a beach town with no fast food chains and no traffic lights. If your looking for some island food and live music, you can walk or ride one of our bikes or grab a shuttle with Stumpy's Free Ride to our local family friendly restaurants located at Englewood Beach Center (roundabout) just a short .7 miles from Beachcomber of Manasota Key. The center is the hub for restaurants, a gift shop, and convenience store. Here you can kick back, grab a meal, and listen to live music at one of our 4 restaurants.
Free beach yoga classes are available daily at 8:30 a.m. directly on the main beach, Englewood Beach by Loving Light Yoga. The Key has several gifts shop for you to browse through, as well as a 24 hour local convenience store.
You are also only an 8 minute drive (back over the Tom Adams Bridge) away from several grocery stores, shopping, and restaurants. To the south on 776, you will find Publix, Winn Dixie, Walmart, and Walgreens. To the North on 776 and then left on Dearborn St., you will find Englewood's shopping district with antique stores, boutiques, a coffee shop, and additional restaurant choices.

About Manasota Key
Manasota Key is located south of Sarasota in the city of Englewood. Manasota Key is a barrier island that is 7 miles long. One side faces the calm, blue-green waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the other side is the intracoastal waterway, Lemon Bay. Manasota Key has four main beaches to choose from. By foot, bicycle, or car Englewood Beach is just minutes away from our Beachcomber’s Retreat. Englewood Beach has a boardwalk, covered picnic areas, and restrooms. Restaurants, bars, shopping, and waterfront dining locations are across the street from Englewood Beach. North of Englewood Beach is Blind Pass Beach. This is another great spot to search for shark teeth or to take a walk on the nature trail through sand dunes and mangroves. Farther north, Manasota Beach offers another spot to explore and is a popular snorkeling area. You are also within walking distance to Stump Pass Beach State Park another Manasota Key treasure. Stump Pass Beach State Park covers the southern end of the key.
Things to Do
There's plenty to do and see. Countless hours can be spent exploring, shelling, hunting for shark's teeth, or just relaxing on the quiet beaches.
Stump Pass Beach State Park can provide you with opportunities to view dolphins, manatees, loggerhead turtles, ospreys, and egrets as you stroll the sandy beach, hike the trails, or glide along the shoreline by kayak or paddle board.
You are also within walking distance of Lemon Bay which is the perfect spot to set off in a kayak or on a paddle board to get a closer view of the intracoastal wildlife along the mangrove fringed shoreline. Catch a glimpse of dolphins and manatees as you fish.
Manasota Key has some of the best fishing, boating, sailing, and kayaking available.
You are also only minutes from golfing, shopping, grocery stores, and hospitals back on the
mainland.
