This rental property was cozy and comfortable. It is located on an extremely calm and quiet pond, close enough to Belgrade for action if you want it. We enjoyed ourselves!
My wife and I had a very enjoyable time at Flying Pond. The cottage was well stocked, clean, and the owners were very kind, responsive and informative. We enjoyed each day there.
It was so nice to return to this special spot.
We all (children and grandchildren) had an amazing time with new memories made for what I hope will be an annual visit. The lake was beautiful and we did lots of swimming and paddle boarding. Don is a great host who is readily available if needed.
The location was really nice, as we were able to watch the sunset each night. Nice deck and screened-in porch, too. The gas grill worked and everything. A bit dark and crowded inside but we got such great weather we didn't have to spend much time inside. Overall, we had a great week on Flying Pond.
The house nor its fixtures are new by any means, but it is nice, the listing is accurate and the owner was responsive to an issue that we had right at the beginning. It is on the sunset side of the lake, the upstairs bedrooms are spacious and the air conditioning is a blessing on hot days.
Having grown up with a family camp on Flying Pond, Don’s place brought back many great memories! Everything was perfect inside and out. The pond was as clean and clear as I remembered. New memories made with my grandchildren, with hopes to return again!
my family enjoyed our stay at this adorable cabin. it had everything we needed to relax and enjoy ourselves. it had every amenity and was so perfectly decorated. the lakeside view was beautiful. the lake was clean and refreshing. Don was so attentive in making sure we had all of our needs met! the neighbors were friendly. i highly recommend renting this perfect spot.
We loved our stay at this Flying Pond oasis. We visited in late September so the lake was beautiful and quiet. The cabin had everything we needed and lots more. Sleeping accommodations were comfortable with warm comforters. While the nights were colder (lower 40's at the lowest), the fire place and/or heaters provided the warmth we needed to stay cozy and comfortable.
The lake is beautiful and the deck and dock were very pleasant during the days. We brought our dog and took several walks along the roads in the development. Neighbors were friendly and respectful. We also walked some trails we found on the mainetrailfinders website, and had to visit the Maine Cabin Masters store, just a short drive from the cabin.
The property manager was easy to work with and stopped by for a visit during our stay. This was our first fall vacation; we hope they all work out this well.
Loved this cabin! Flying Pond is amazing, our hosts helpful , and wonderful.
loved space for friends for a short visit and my son that came up for two nights. Loved just kayaking around ,. And just having a vacation to relax! Thank you!
This charming and rustic camp was the perfect place to enjoy some family time. The house was well set up with everything we needed and situated close to the water on Flying Pond. We loved the area, the people, and especially exploring the Pond by Canoe and Kayaks-we enjoyed a picnic lynch on one of the islands. The neighbors were very friendly and the neighborhood dog friendly. The swimming was great -bring water shoes, it's a little rocky. Our labs spent hours swimming with us. It was the perfect location for everything we enjoy doing and Don and Cindy were great to work with every step of the way! This is one of our new favorites and we plan to be back!
This property was very peaceful and everyone around was very friendly. Cottage is rustic. The owner was very informative and communication was very good . He answered any questions I had and when we arrived he told us if we needed anything just ask . We loved being on the water all day long kayaking, fishing , paddle boarding as well ! The kids loved using all there boats which was the best thing . Loved getting up and having my coffee on the dock . If you like the cottage feel and just want to get away from it all and just relax read a book it’s very peaceful .
Our family enjoyed a restful week at this charming lake house. The ease of access to the water was priceless and the pond was clean and delightful for swimming. We were able to work remotely with the wireless connection and used the landline for calls, as cell service is a bit spotty. The kids had fun filling jugs with spring water in Vienna, minutes away, and we enjoyed fireworks with the locals in Mt Vernon on the 4th. Such an idyllic village. The Variety store nearby has everything you could need. Nights were quiet and we enjoyed listening to owls and loons nearby. We loved having laundry facilities and a dishwasher. Can’t wait to stay here again.
This house was perfect for a multi-week stay. The house itself had everything that we needed (and more), it was an ideal location on a stunning lake, and remote but a short drive to great hikes, towns, etc. Don was a terrific host and very communicative throughout the stay. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.
This is a quiet cabin in the woods with nice neighbors. It is situated 25 feet from the pond. Flying Pond is a lean, clear lake with good fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and swimming. There are islands to picnic on and plenty of porch, deck and hammock space to fall asleep reading a book. Groceries are close by at the Mount Vernon Country store and great sandwiches and baked goods can be found at the Post Office Cafe just to the right of the country store.
