Gem in a beautiful city with great hospitality!
This home was so amazing for myself and 3 of my fishing buddies! Spacious living quarters, beautiful bedrooms, highly convenient location, fully functional kitchen with all the amenities you could ask for!We battled 4 tough fishing days that saw temperatures drop to -21, so it was definitely nice to have a nice home to come back to!The true highlight of the stay was our host, Laurie! Great communication, very accommodating, very good recommendations, super personable and definitely made sure we felt comfortable during our stay!If you’re looking for a place to stay during your visit to SE Wisconsin/ Milwaukee, this is it! 10 out of 10 recommend!

About the host

Host profile image
I am from Michigan originally, but have lived throughout the midwest in Southern Illinois, Michigan, and the Dayton Ohio area.

I retired from healthcare administration earlier this year after more than 30 years as a nursing home administrator. Years ago I also owned a bookstore with a coffee shop. This carries over into a love for coffee, books and reading groups to this day.

My younger son and his wife live in the Milwaukee area and my eldest son, his wife, and daughter live in Munich, Germany. I moved to Shorewood in July 2022. This is the third time in my life that I have lived in the Milwaukee area. I will never tire of being so close to Lake Michigan and its beauty. I love that Milwaukee is such a vibrant community.

I love playing tennis. I have recently picked up pickleball. I like to walk and run in the neighborhood and at the lakefront. Atwater Park which is just a few blocks away has several flights of steps that provide a great workout too.

Why they chose this property

The neighborhood is the perfect balance between a quiet residential setting and nearby urban amenities. It is a few blocks from Atwater Park with a lovely sandy beach, playgrounds, and a beautiful view. The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is just a 2 minute drive or .7 mile walk south. It is a quick walk to restaurants, bars, cafes, nail and hair salons, parks, and shopping.

What makes this property unique

Ideal for families or small groups, the property offers a cozy, well-appointed interior with multiple common areas and a welcoming, homey atmosphere.

The kitchen is fully equipped allowing you to enjoy all of the wonderful foods the Milwaukee area has to offer without having to eat out for every meal.

The home is perfect for extended stays as well. There is a guest laundry. Perfect for stays during home renovation, relocation, and travel for work - travel nurses, construction, projects, etc.

Pets are welcome.

As a host I am committed to making your stay amazing. I will do my best to anticipate your needs and encourage you to let me know how I can help you to make the most of your stay.
